There is a guy doing 157db on the termlab with a single 18" DC sounds sub and using only 25 watts of power to get it... So nothing is impossible. When he put 1355 watts to that sub and in that setup he hit 172.4 db and this is on a termlab

I know box design goes a long way. I was an installer for Visions and I know how to make really good boxes. My type x is driven with 1000watts rms...this type r is being driven with 300 watts rms. That is less than what the sub is rated for. Think about it man...300rms watts can't produce 149.1db.

It still very possible. Not off a term lab on the dash. but with good mic placement off an audio control mic it could. its a very small truck too. and even with low power i have seen a single 8 in a full size chevy pull 144 off 500 watts and that was sealed off on the dash. with power down and a really lucky box it could be done. True, chances are not likely and off a tl on the dash i dont see it. but it looks like they are using a ac mic and there is no telling where the mic is actually located

ya I guess it couls be done...but your box would have to be so perfect. The small truck also really helps. My type x was tested in an Acura and in that car the seats don't fold down...so that will reduce the db, but my type x is still very loud. I don't even need a second one.

I have a 12" Alpine Type X. I ran Class A at a Db Drag Competition and hit a 141.8 with 1000 Watts. I don't think you hit that with only 500 Watts!!!

there is no way you hit 149 on the glass. maybe if you put the meter in the port. i have an s10 short cab with 3 BTLs and it barely breaks 160. i have close to 15,000 rms. so your 300rms is bull
