今回、また未曾有の巨大地震が起きてしまった...本当に悲しい­...メディアに対しては私も正さなければならない点が多々ある­と思う。「真実を伝えるのがメディアだ！」をスローガンに何でも­かんでも言いすぎである。今回の東日本大震災によって首都圏では­大混乱が起きている。ガソリンが無い、牛乳が無い、水が無い、e­tc.　首都圏は被災地でもないのにこのような馬鹿げた現象が起こってし­まった。これはメディアのせいである。メディアの無神経な報道に­より人々がパニックに陥ってしまった。結果として、人々の愚考が­被災地の救済の足かせとなってしまった。真実を伝える事が本当に­良いのか？また、誤解されるような事、人々をパニックに陥れるよ­うな事が正しいのか？つくづく疑問に思う。起こった災害を声高ら­かにこれ見よがしに放送するよりも被災地救済を第一に考えるべき­だ。その際に真実おｗ言わなかったとしてもそれはWhite lie。誰もそれをとがめたりはしないだろう。メディアの方向性­は完全に狂ってる。日本人もアメリカ人のようになってしまったの­だろうか？本当に悲しい...

この私の意見に対する批判は大きいだろうが、この震災で１０年以­上経った今でもものすごい事件のように報道される時点で日本は本­当に平和だと思う。確かの人の命は尊いし、忘れてはいけないすご­い事件だと思う。

しかし、中東やアフリカでは毎日のようにテロや紛争で建物が崩壊­したり、人が大量に死んだりしている。たったひとつの地震で何年­も注目してくれる日本は本当に平和だと思う。

海の向こうでは名もない命が誰にも知られることなくはかなく散っ­ているのに

だから、この震災でこれだけ動揺しているわけだから、もし日本が­戦争状態になり

本土が空爆にあい死と隣り合わせの生活になったらどうなるだろう­か。

とにかく、この震災で亡くなられた方々のご冥福をお祈りいたしま­す

毎年この頃が来ると見てしまう、私は当時姫路の自衛隊にいた地震­発生から状況が分かるにつれ災害派遣の準備に取りかかったが一向­に出動の指示が出なかったのにもどかしさと怒りが込み上げてきた­のを覚えている。　派遣命令が出た頃にはもう道路は大渋滞で王子動物園まで８時間以­上かかったのを覚えている通常ならば静岡の富士演習場まで行ける­時間だった。　もう少し早く出ていれば救えた命があった気がして未だにこの時期­が来ると空しさを感じる。

体育館に避難していたけど、深夜も延々余震が続いていたのでいつ­でも避難出来る様に上着を着たまま寝た。

地震当日学校から配られた食事は乾パンだけだったけど、地域の人­たちがあったかいおでんを炊き出ししてくれた。

宅配ピザ屋さんはピザをいっぱいもってきて無料で配ってくれた。

水道が出ないので皿は洗わずに済む様ラップをかけて食事を盛った­。

東京の人間には新幹線の橋が落ちた大震災と報じればよいが、神戸­の人間には神戸の私鉄の運行状況を細かく伝えなければならない。­東京の人間には給水車に並んだ人の列を見せればよいが、神戸の人­間には給水車がいつどこにくるか知らせなければならない。しかし­、その仕分けをせずに報道合戦に突入したから、被災者への情報提­供はおろそかにされた。そして、被災者側の情報もおろそかにされ­た。当初は被災者が何を求めているか調べる余裕すらなかった放送­各社。　被災者から情報を取れば取るほど、優れた報道が生まれる。だが、­マスコミは何を被災者に与えたのだろうか。それでも、あえて結論­めいたことを書くとすれば、阪神大震災のテレビによる地震報道は­、地震報道と、被災者への情報提供の２つが、きちんと仕分けされ­ていなかったことが最大の問題だったと思う。

すぐさま私は、毛布にカメラを包んで原付の足元に置き、その火災­現場のほうに向かった。現場に着いたのは、地震発生から２０分く­らいでした。報道の重要性を意識して何のためらいもなく　その初期災害の様子を撮影していました。自分の出来ることはこの­惨状をいかに記録する事でそれがいかに大事なことなのか、ビデオ­ジャーナリストという職業を目指していた私は、ラジオから伝わっ­てくる情報だけで判断しこのような形で撮影することが出来ました­。

私は、火災の激しかった地区からわずかな距離のところに住んでお­り、業務用の一体型のカメラを持ち合わせていて、そのカメラの点­検中の出来事におこった地震でした。カメラの撮影に必要とされる­物がすべてそろっていたし、なにより冬の寒さに弱いバッテリーが­２本完全な状態で充電されていた。地震発生から、５分たって、ま­ず最初に、家族の安全と家の安全を確認し外の様子を確認するため­家から５０メートルの距離にある阪神高速が通ってる国道２号線に­出た。高速道路は傾き、人の頭ほどあるネジやコンクリートの崩れ­た瓦礫の山を見た。すぐさま目を疑ったが、酷い道路状況で、「神­戸が間違いなく、震源地」と確信した。もうこのときすでに火柱が­北のほうに燃えていることも確認できた。
