I'm UE. We are an independent rank and file union. At least in my local, our stewards don't get any pay or compensation for their hard work, much less a cut of our check. Our dues are tiny, and are more than made up for by the increases in compensation and benefits we have won since unionizing. There are no fatcats in our union, the president and leadership make no more than workers in the union. Hell, just last week we got to vote on the president's salary.

Direct action gets the goods! Way to go Wobblies. I'm certain the national solidarity shown by several groups, including the IWW, was a big factor in getting the bank to cough up the cash.
