Both robots are amazing, Honda does have more experience and tech to develop these robots, but it took Honda over 20 years to develop the asimo. The HUBO which is still pretty impressive took just over 7 years to develop. Korea is JUST getting into the robotic market, they just need to think of the good uses for them.
Asimo can do so much more, it has improved speech synthesis, faster running speeds, better speech recognition, and the ability to ascend and descend stairs.
Hi. Aprox by the year 2020 a laptop will reach the human brain potential for processing data which means that there is a huge market waiting for hundreds of billions dollars to be sold or invested in humanoid robots and intelligent systems and the beginning of the bigger industry ever maid in human history. Search on Google luisbeck007 you will find the most complete humanoid robot list in the World, good information and interesting issues.
That is the question. But one thing this does prove is that there is a viable and strong enough body to survive in the real world ( for when the AI is ready ).
This work is equally important as the AI in creating the worlds first android assistant.

is this fake or what? it seems so unrealistic, right when you look at it it appears to be CGI, if you do not realize this is fake, go fuck yourself and watch terminator.
The walking gait looks wrong, nature usually gives animals/insects a spring mechanism as part of their movement. Maybe some thick rubber bands would assist this robot to walk more efficiently.
All humans look copies. lol
And Asimo can't move fingers individually as far as I know.

Is this all programmed, or is this robot doing this stuff out of free-will?
If it's all programmed, this is all "meh". They need to come up with A.I. to match the hardware!
TheReapersSon 2 years ago
You're completely right about the A.I. but it is the toughest nut to crack when it comes to robotics. The movements are programmed.
plasticpals1 2 years ago
Of course it's all pre-programmed. We won't have general AI for another 15-20 years... ;)
By then I think these robots will look more like the bots in the movie "iRobot" with Will Smith.
