So you're trying to say she doesn't know her own song? I beg to differ. the song's name is AB NA JAIBE. Hum Na Jaibe is a totally different song. Whoever posted this needs to make the necessary corrections.
@ShutYuhMuddaSkunt actually, hum na jaibe is originally a bollywood song...but you are right..this song is ab naj jaibe...and not her version of hum na jaibe..the title is wrong indeed
holy shit..i remember going and see this show with my dad in toronto when i was like 8-9 years old in 1992-1993...my dad had me dancing to all her songs..lol..was so cute though now that i think back about it.
Where do you think the word coolie comes from? Black people were called by the N-word during slavery, and Indians were called coolie's. That's why there are also Indians that don't like to be called coolie, because it has the same kind of negative value (as the N-word). It's so strange these days, because people call eachother with such a negative name, and aren't able to say Raam Raam or Namaste.. What I'm trying to say is: don't forget your history out of respect for your elders and ancestors.
I remember those days back in Trinidad, going over by family and friends and partying as a kid with my parents... good times, good food, good memories..
WOW!! I never imagined finding this song ever again, specially not from Babla and Kanchan. I remember my mom sang this song in her band, so this brings back golden memories..

Oh that's not what I'm trying to imply at all. I was just saying. I love Babla & Kanchan.
It's not originally her song though.
happybuddha33 2 years ago
It is her song. Hum Na Jaibe=Sundar Popo. Ab Na Jaibe=Kanchan. You've got your Jaibe's all mixed up lol.
ShutYuhMuddaSkunt 2 years ago 19
Aha!!
There we go! lol
But yeah, Hum Na Jaibe is originally from a film called Ghar Dwaar. When I meant "original", that's the one I was talking about.
Glad we got that clarified though. lol

gtstar1 3 years ago 4
correct.. and people think that our conditions, (of the Indians) were much better than that of the Africans.. but it was exactly the same..
ChandarDatt 3 years ago 5
Its funny because I told my friend this at (high) school and now he says I'm "allowed to use the N-word"
i say yeah, no thanks. People will learn though don't worry about it.

In Guyana they call themselves "coolies" I was supprise when I heard that because in Trinidad it is taken as something negative.
