  • This is so, so manipulative. I wont deny the fact humans have fucked up the world in many ways and that we do kill other animals in cold blood - It sickens me. But this speech lacks real truth. Its thanks to us humans many animals have been saved from extinction. Its thanks to us humans that many animals are rescued and rehomed. Humans are a beautiful species, and this speech trys to make a person self-hate their own species. Its foolishness, and a reason why I hate PETA.

    dude thats fucking gross!!!

WARNING: a high range of sarcasm is included in this comment.

  • I'm in awe of animals, and I'm in awe of how any sane rational person can listen to anything this woman says and think she's right. Save your time and your money for worthy causes, and work with organizations that have a good solid approach to improving the conditions of animals. Also go to Wendy's

  • thank god for peta, standing up against the criminal american government who laughs at animal slaughter, the ten commandments say do not murder, did you hear that criminal republican and democrat parties!!!!!

  • @normalguyable Seek mental help and perhaps a steak.

  • Ingrid Newkirk and Max Keiser are international heroes. They have the courage to talk about the issues conservative-biased mainstream media and government refuses. They should be President & Secretary of the Treasury of the USA for life!

They do not submit to politically correct crap & intimidation.

  • @deskset24 A hero in that war criminal terrorist kind of way.

  • I love you so much ingrid I started a veg club at my high school and we apprecaie everthibg you do .

  • @wareagl22 that's amazing, good for you!

  • In many ways, Ingrid Newkirk is right that animals should;nt have to suffer. They should be killed in a humane way when we have the resources and money, but to stop producing meat altogether?

Newkirk dosen't comprehend the impact this would have on our OWN existance. To an extent, the human race also has the right to survive and eat meat, just as animals do. The reason Ingrid is so dramatic about this subject is because she believes all animals should be equal to us, and while this is a nice

  • *cont* thought, this isn't the reality. Our society, to what it has become, cannot thrive without the use of animals as food, and while you can at some level feel the pain the animals must be going through, is it really worth giving up your entire lifestyle. Becoming a vegan is a lot more than just giving up hamburgers and hotdogs. It means no milk, no ice cream no cheese or any animal by product whatsoever, and I know there are alternatives, but to try to coerce an ENTIRE nation to be

  • *cont* thinking this way is absolutely obsurd, and it is a pointless battle.

Ingrids heart is in the right place, I'll give her that much, but her methods are surprisingly anti-human, what with the whole Holocaust comparison and targeting children with "unhappy" meals. These are not the proper methods.

Bottom line is; it might not be a pretty picture, but we do not eat meat to be cruel; we do it because we are omnivores, and this is the way of nature. Miss Newkirk often crosses the line

  • between compassion and insanity.

We need to understand that this is the way our society has evolved and grown for so long, that stopping where we are now, is out of the question.

All we can hope for is that the animals do not suffer for long, which often they don't, but meat and dairy is a major part of our everyday lives, and that is why they view Ingrid as an extremist. She has compassion for something most of us take for granted. Eating meat is not as moral as it is a nessecity for us

  • ...it ISNT a neccessary, that is the problem. I am alive after 2 years of not eating it.

  • Yes, but it is a source of protein and sustainance, and their would be a huge impact on people's lives if the meat was removed completely from the supermarkets. People should have the right to make the CHOICE to be veg. Not be forced. The point is its a source of food, and not every person in the world wants to stay alive on veggies and fruits, and as long as thats the case, it IS nessesary.

  • Well, besides that eating animals is wrong, if they were killed in a different way, without all the cruelty, or made meat just for special occaisions, then it would be better.

  • I honestly don't see how it could be wrong when animals in the wild do the same thing. Its the way nature designed us. The whole point of these Peta videos is to make you feel guilty about it. Ingrid even mentions in this video that "animals eat what nature intended" and every time she says that I can't help but wonder what animals shes talking about because they do the same thing.

And I already mentioned how they should be killed humanely and kept in better conditions. Thats just obvious.

  • i strongly agree with you

  • @AngelofLightX4 actually at this point in our existance, phasing out factory farming would be one of the greatest things we could do for humans and animals alike. they are the #1 contributor to green house gases (51%) and a huge contributor to antibitic resistant bacteria as well as pollution of streams and the air. they contribute to acid rain and oten time make people living in very close proximity as well as workers very sick. there is so much to know that we can not just know intuitively.

  • I never said I directly support factory farming; just veganism in GENERAL. Organic meat is raised without added hormones or drugs and to my knowledge is much better for the environment. I think factory farming methods would do well to be changed, for human AND animal welfare. My issue is that Peta seems to focus more on PURE veganism, rather than more ethic farming and raising methods.

People have the right to be vegans if they want, but they also have the right to choose. Ingrid apposes that.

  • And one more thing; Ingrid Newkirk speaks of the human race in a very general one-sided manner in terms of the way we view animals.

"It is our species failure to understand all the other species on the planet"

Um......what about zoologists? Marine biologists? People who devote their entire lives to studing animals? There are people who respect them, and learn about them. And just listen to the way she speaks, she talks about meat eaters as though they are ignorant idiots.

  • Yea I thought of that too,it feels like if I'm not a totally raw, pure vegan I can't be a part of PETA,

  • For the most part, you can't. They are such militarists in their beliefs I find it hard to believe they have any supporters.

  • Well, see, I think their only followers are whack o's, and people like me that don't actually know about how PETA really is, I dont consider myself a PETA member, I go on their site for times, Im a vegetarian for the most part, (every body cheats...lol)and I love animals

  • I said times, I meant to put I go to their site for tips

  • I am an animal

    and like other animals

    I eat meat.

  • Oh please. We might be "animals" but were not like other animals. Look how advanced we are. We can send men to the moon and create a gadget that fits in the palm of our hands that holds the entire world's information. We have a pretty advanced way of communicating with each other and unlike some animals, we DON'T need meat to survive. Lions HAVE to kill to survive. They're not stupid, they know that they need it. We on the other can survive on crops. We just eat meat because it taste good.

  • ok well some people don't agree let me put u in a cage for all your life and feed u shit food and your ground will be prickly and dirty and when your old enough ill send u somewhere where you've never been and suffer so much pain that u wont stop begging to stop until u cant handle the pain no more

  • are u fucking kidding me. what about animals who eat and kill other animals. my cat bites rabbits and waches them suffer and when they try to get away he claws the shit out of them. But he eat it and we never have to feed him. shut the fuck up some animals thats the only way to survive and it was liek that with humans back then so get over it

  • I agree that animals don't deserve to be treated horribly. But Humans still need to hunt for food and nothing else. Hunt for what they need and not for overeating. If the human population was smaller, and they hunted for what they needed, like wolves, there would be satisfaction AND a whole community would not be disrupted. But we have to feed the masses. :/ I am not vegan because I need my meat. Helps me go long without eating for a while. Builds my muscle. I just hate the damned abuse

  • I agree with you PETA should work to find more respectful ways to kill the animals going into the super markets and schools because there being sacraficed to us they disserve more respect then that.

  • i just ate mcdonalds meat burger

    i love meat

    yummy chicken

    GO MEAT

  • Given the right propaganda, I guess they could even make Hitler look good in a documentary, just keep on showing the stuff they "do right", nevermind their own killings they do to animals that can't be "saved"... if PETA really wants to be taken seriously, they should start acting like normal non-radical idiots.

  • Many animals suffer prolonged, painful deaths when they are injured but not killed by hunters. A member of the Maine Bowhunters Alliance estimates that 50 percent of animals who are shot with crossbows are wounded but not killed

  • Hunting disrupts migration and hibernation patterns and destroys families. For animals like wolves, who mate for life and live in close-knit family units, hunting can devastate entire communities. The stress that hunted animals suffer—caused by fear and the inescapable loud noises and other commotion that hunters create—also severely compromises their normal eating habits, making it hard for them to store the fat and energy that they need in order to survive the winter.

  • Commercial fishing is cruelty to animals on an almost unimaginable scale. Fish look so unlike humans that many people dont realize that they feel pain, just as we do and lead complex intellectual lives that rival those of dogs and some other mammals. The way that these animals are treated by the commercial fishing industry should make animal lovers everywhere give up their taste for fish flesh for good.

  • Todays commercial fishers use massive ships the size of football fields and advanced electronic equipment and satellite communications to track fish. These enormous vessels can stay out at sea for as long as six months, storing thousands of tons of fish onboard in massive freezer compartments.

  • Commercial fishing has become a big business, and the methods used to catch and kill the animals are as cruel as those used by factory farmers or slaughterhouse operators. In fact, the methods used to kill fish indicate that commercial fishers see their prey as no more sentient than rocks on a mountain—and the horrible cruelty that they inflict on hundreds of billions of fish is completely unregulated.

  • Thank you

  • Thank you Ingrid. Keep up the good work.

  • i hate people, they're so stupid, immature, all they do is fight. In the other hand, animals just love and do everything with their instinct. i love PETA

  • How can anyone look into the eyes of the animals in that footage and deny those creatures feel pain and fear like any human?

  • theres a difference between animal cruelty and eating meat idiot..just because you want to be vegan doesnt mean everyone else has to be like you..even god said its ok to eat meat

  • i hate how humans murder, how they cheat, how they lie, how they torture, how they're cruel, how they fucked up this world... thats why i hate humans

  • I've just realised - I fucking hate humans.

  • yeah i hate humans too...very cruel evil people

  • @GumballCinema i know, me too

  • @GumballCinema agreed

  • The documentary Earthlings narrated by Juaquin Phoenix should be mandatory viewing for every intelligent self-thinking adult on the planet

  • i think this is the more inspiring one and i totaly agree with her, however i don't think i can go vegan nor vegatarian, tho i WILL make sure that i eat free range eggs, and that the animals were treated right, and killed in the most human way posible_xx
