They have shelters in Maine? Must get pretty lonely there, making soup for people who will never show up to eat it because they make the good stuff at home.
Hahahahhahaha. A state of emergency? Bloody hell, that's funny. I live in New Brunswick, Canada, which borders Maine, we got the same storm, and though I have been pretty much shoveling for the past two days and still have more to do, how the HELL does this classify as bad enough to be a state of emergency? I would think the folks in Maine are just as good at handling the snow as we are, so yeah, I'd be embarrassed if a state of emergency was declared for for a simple 40 cm of snow.
Well, what it was is i had gone out to shovel before the storm was over so that I wouldn't have as much to do after the storm had passed. I finished shoveling completely, but when I woke up the next day the plough had gone past and left a huge bank at the end of our driveway; the bank took two hours to shovel, it was so big, which is really rare. After I had finished I shoveled half of the driveway afterwards but wasn't able to finish because I was really sore. So I finished last night.

Ayuh, we are use to this. Maybe his dog is one of his advisers like Prime Minister Kings and told him to declare state of emergency?
I would be more embarrassed if it took me that long to shovel a little snow!

So that's why it took so long. Our driveway normally takes about three and a half hours to do.
Did I mention I hate snow?

It so people can legally work longer hours fixing the lines and plowing. Its not really a big deal.
