I volunteered at a shelter and I can't tell you how many animals were brought back... it's a cruel thing to do and they adjust much better to a small situation than a change of home.

awe i'm sure your kitty will get better!i feel the same way about my puppy. when we moved into our house that i live in now we had a cat that has been with me from before i was born. the first day when we brought him to the new house he started freaking out and i guess it was just to much for him. when my mom opened the garge door he darted out and ran away. a couple days later my old neighbor called saying he came back to our old house ,but ran away when my neighbor tried to get near him.

i'm sorry you're going through that with your kitties. we're in a sort of similar situation. we have three cats, and two of them(both female) have started peeing outside of their litter box. our vet believes it's a dominance issue, and suggested we put the cats in their own rooms and put the youngest one on medication. it's very hard as we don't want to do either of those, but can't think of another solution. :(
its nice to see someone else crazy about her cats! a lot of ppl dont understand what an attachment you can form with an animal. i dont even think i could handle it if anything happened to either of my babies

This girl I worked with pretty much laughed at me when I'd get upset about my dog being sick or anything like that... She'd say, "It's just a dog." She also laughed when my mom was crying one day when it was the anniversary of our first dog's death. She said, "I don't get it..it's not like it's a person. It's an animal."

She's a terrible person the more I got to know her. One day she also talked crap on someone she saw walking a dog in the winter because they put a sweater on their dog. She thinks people that do that are weird. I told her that I have a hoodie for my dog because animals get cold too. She's just an idiot. haha
I do not know how people cannot love animals. My heart melts all the time, making me want more, but I gotta stop at 3 dogs cuz I want a baby sometime soon, too. hahaha
From what I've seen on here, people that say stupid hurtful things just do it to get attention. Don't let them get to you. We all know you are a great pet owner and are doing the best you can, and even more. Good luck :).

Uggh, I completely agree with not giving your pets up at the first sign of a problem. A high school friend (who I don't talk to much anymore, just through facebook) was 3 months pregnant and decided to adopt a kitten. After the baby was born, she decided she didn't want the cat anymore and just gave it back to the shelter. It completely broke my heart. I wish my landlord would let me have more than one pet because I would have adopted him.
that sucks! i hear a lot of people who give away their pets after having a baby. i understand that your baby is now the center of your world and you THINK it's the right thing to do FOR YOUR HAPPINESS, but you're breaking that animals heart. cats especially don't take that much time! clean their litterbox, feed and water them, talk to them and give them a snuggle. they're independent creatures!
I absolutely agree. How can you abandon your pet. To be honest, I get really disgusted by people who just give their pets away especially after they had them for a year or so. I get they are not people but they do get attached to their owners. My dog isn't just some animal to me, he's a member of my family. How can you just abandon a member of your family? I'm not talking about all cases, there are some cases where you have no choice and giving your pet away is actually the best choice.
totally! very rare cases warrant the need to give your pet away. like a dog who is aggressive toward children or another pet. in a case like that, it's completely understandable. that would be dangerous for everyone involved.

There's alot of ppl out there that shouldn't have pets. My father is known as "the dog man" in my neighborhood, & how many times someone has dumped there dog in the vestibule of our building. It's so sad.

my mom found a stray dog at her work and the "owners" claimed that it was theirs, then when they found out how much the fine was, they said oh wait thats not our dog. the dog had very distinctive features, so their was no way of confusing it. i was so pissed when i found that out.
