Read the Book : The Cia in Guatemala,, it explains the history of the United fruit Company, now known as Chiquita Brands. How they supported dicators. The term Imperialist" could be derived from the actions of this company in LatinAmerica.
mmmmm me likey my chiquita. I didn't know there was such a thing as a strawberry banana--Delicious. Whats the big deal anyway, those third world workers should know their roles.
Oh come on, its not like this is a true story. It would be on the news if it was real. plus the bananas are so delicious, and nutritious. Kosher hot dogs don't have cheese in them, but hot dogs are delicious, i'll give you that. Let's all just agree that Chiquita is providing a product we all know and love! :)
c) Similar payments were also made to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), as well as the National Liberation Army (ELN) from 1989 to 1997. All three of these groups are on the U.S. State Department's list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
b) On March 14, 2007, Chiquita Brands was fined $25 million as part of a settlement with the United States Justice Department for having ties to Colombian paramilitary groups. According to court documents, between 1997 and 2004, officers of a Chiquita subsidiary paid approximately $1.7 million to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, the AUC, in exchange for local, employee protection in Colombia's volatile banana harvesting zone.
But you aren't looking at this from CHIQUITA'S point of view! They work so hard to bring us this delicious fruit, and the only story here is that they do a great job. When I got up this morning, do you know what was waiting for me beside my cornflakes? Chiquita bananas and they were banantastic. Where was the movie? Not with my cornflakes. My AMERICAN cornflakes.
Hey, don't get mad just because you know it's a great product. The truth here is that Chiquita is a great company with a lot to offer. They find a solution to the banana question that's good for everyone, from ducks and trees to yous and mes! Did you know that bananas have no fat and are packed with vitamins and other nutritious elements? Check it out, it's bananificent! I think everyone would do well to consider Chiquita's point of view, don't you?
Tell me other thing if you were a desplaced countryman that saw his familly assasained by paramilitars and then see that bananas over your family, over your house and asking money in the streets of bogota because you can't return to where you had your family, your money because the paramilitars would kill you
But Salvatore Mancuso confessed that the A.U.C were paid by Chiquita Brands to desplace poor people and kill sindicalists.
He told that in 60 minutes, a popular program in NBC.
Chiquita is the ex United Fruit Company that killed thousands of strikers that claim their rigths in United Fruit. This is known like the Massacre of Bananeras. This is the principal theme of 100 años de Soledad, written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, winner of a Nobel.

Did you know that those strikers were commies? They were trying to destroy American freedom. Thank goodness that there are responsible companies out there to ensure American freedoms and democracy for everyone. And they make an awesome product, don't you agree?
But they only claim better conditions of work. How would you feel if you were in a factory or in this case in a bananera, with bad pay and without a health sure?

The point is that they need to view things from the point of Chiquita. Those workers should be happy to be getting a job at all, especially for such a great company. Most of the bad things you hear about Chiquita is just made up by Guatemalan communist agents. And nobody likes communism, am i right?
they wouldnt fucking need a job at unitet fruit company if they wouldn't have taken all the property and the plantations of the local farmers! guatemala had an at least acceptable government for a long time and killing ten thousands of INNOCENT people! they where fucking farmers and not evil genius people planing to blank americas freedom! fool
Actually, the company's name is Chiquita, and those terrorists were supported by Reds. I think you are thinking of the wrong company. Chiquita never killed thousands of people, but built many of the schools hospitals railroads and freedoms that central americans enjoy today. It also won the 'Corporate Conscience Award' from Social Accountability International and is a member of the ethical trading initiative. And what a product, am i right?
American policies in Central America have caused the forced relocation of indigenous peoples. Several democratically elected leaders have been 'taken out' and replaced by dictators supported by the CIA for American capitalist interest. Just read history. READ READ READ, To know truth. It wont be on your corporate sponsored television channels.
We are all responsible for those deaths! Let's stop consuming american products! Let's stop supporting the american terrorism! They say they export democracy but those bastards only export terrorism!DO NOT BUY ANY AMERICAN GOOD
This doesn't surprise me! U.S. corporations like Chiquita have always exploited the resources of various countries! The richer get richer and the poorer get poorer! Guatemala is a good example of this and in the U.S. same thing goes. While corporate America invest their money for cheap labor in other countries people in the U.S. lose their jobs and get poorer! Example Flint, Michigan or plain simply middle America is a good example! Then we blame it on the immigrants and junk the media tells us!
Thanks for your comment. Chiquita used to be United Fruit Co. Over the last century UFC was notorious for bribing officials, crushing unions, exploiting workers and otherwise being a nasty multinational. They are less powerful now, but still willing to take unethical steps to serve their interests.
Ok, if you want videos on what the United Estates governments has done to Guatemala there is a lot of videos. One of them is: La Intervención de la CIA en Guatemala, those are five so watch them in order. You can also go to wikipedia and research about the guerilla in Guatemala and the overthrow of presidend Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán. But that is only bout Guate, there are lots of stuff more.
I KNEW THAT CHIQUITA BITCH WAS HIDING SOMETHING UNDER THAT HUGE FRUIT HAT.

The blood for fruit goes back a long time, since 1899.
IT CONTINUES TODAY . It is an interesting history lesson of American policy in Central and South America.
