  • We are all DEVO

  • これには驚きました。共演してたのね。

  • I'll bet if someone had strapped a concussion bomb to Fred Travalena's chest and gave him 24 hours to track down a better copy of this, he would've managed to do it! - 1b2s

(But he died the same day as Michael Jackson in 2009, so I guess we'll never know!)

  • @1nceBitten2wiceShy "But he died the same day as Michael Jackson"

    nope. 3 days apart.

  • @johnvella Yeah, I took a little liberty there. It's still close enough to be freaky... - 1b2s

  • Huh?

  • Yeah I forgot this too. Go head Jermaine !

  • Wow I forgot about this song. This was my JAM at the time!

  • How come my omnichord doesn't make those sounds? :(

  • why does Jermaine avoid this great sound!? Dead brother or no, I'd be re releasing all of that album!

  • love this are we not men? we are jackson

  • This Song Is Cool Cause Devo Is Backing Him Up

  • A quirky combination of performers.

I remember radio announcers saying "Let me tickle your fancy, let me excite your hole" when this song was broadcast back in 1982.

  • inspired by bowie w/ nomi?

  • he plays gutair!??!?!?! omfg so good !!! surprised

    me

  • What a bad ass jam!!..Man this used to drop on The Big 610 KFRC back in 1982.

  • Jermaine and Devo just locked it down. They knew so exactly what they were doing with this. The thing is just dripping with vibe. Jermaine on vocals workin it into some serious "down" Devo music. The presentation is so far out you got to just shout.

  • Jermaine is still sexy

  • hazel had to be having fun with his sexii body he iz so fine datz y has so many kids women can't help but touch him

  • Devo + Jermaine Jackson.... BRILLIANT!!!

  • Yes pure magic this song...love it...MORE FANTASTIC `80`s music at my channel!!!! Take a look....

  • i luv how he does the tickle fingerzz

  • Devo > Michael Jackson > Jermaine Jackson

  • did someone sell him on v shaped guitars by saying wouldnt it be cool if you could hold a guitar like that? LOL

    The Clarences

  • This was my jam!!!!!!

  • jermaine remake this song with t-pain on autotune = number 1 hit.

  • I forget what a great artist you are. that was fantastic.

  • wow Mark plays Omnichord!

  • Holy cow! I haven't heard this song in years. Devo made some cool beats back in the day. Jermaine should have used them more often.

  • Written by Jermaine J. and Devo. That's why they are there.

  • Devo didn't produce Debbie Harry's "Kookoo", but they did perform on it. "Kookoo" was produced by Nile & Bernard from Chic in 1981. It's a great LP! I was surprised to learn about this Jermaine/Devo track!

  • If my mother only knew what this meant, she wouldn't have let me listen to it so much.

    Love this song.

  • ETI on BoingBoing net said: "Jermaine called up Devo and introduced himself, and they hung up on him figuring it was a joke. Then he called back and explained he was for real and wanted them to add a little of the Devo magic to his album. Mark and Jerry sang backup.

I remember hearing this for the first time on the Electrifying Mojo's radio show on WGPR in Detroit. Mojo was all about unity of the black folks and the white folks through music."

  • Jermaine is sooo sexy wanna be his shirt

  • Wow thit is amazing Jermaine Jackson looks so sexy, cute, sweet, wonderful, beautyful, awesome and everthing!!!

He is my favorite of The Jacksons!!!

Love him forever he sit for always in my heart!!!

    -Xxx-Xxx-Xxx-

Amber yhe biggest fan of Jermaine Jackson!!!!!!!!!<3<3<3<3<3<3:)=P

  • Awesome video. The Jacksons rule. Most people that don't like this are complete idiots.

  • Im pretty sure they produced and played (perhaps all the music besides Jermaines parts and vocals) on these songs and maybe even the entire album. They also produced a Debbie Harry album right around the same time called Koo-Koo .

  • This track is just as fresh as the day it was baked. Devo should be producing hip-hop and R&B now. The result should at least be as good as T-Pain. Love it!

  • @meanmclean Devo would stomp T-Pain's music. Actually I think if this just came out now it would kick azz!

  • I love love this song! I can't get away from it

  • i never heard this before... i really like it!!!

  • I remember that this was recorded in the covered wagon theater at Knott's Berry Farm.

It was a Halloween special, and (all of the members of) Devo also performed Peek-a-Boo, and possibly That's Good.

I've got the vinyl EP of this song: Devo actually performed on the record.

I half-remember that Devo also performed a second song with Jermaine. I don't think they were miming their own music, and were REALLY goofing around in the background.

  • i remember watching this!!!

  • Yay jermaine!!!

    Hes so great!

    Thxz for uploading :)

    Luv you jermaine

  • Sorry guys I didnt mean to be disrepectful. All the Jacksons are talented

  • @Diamonds7771 Why are you talking about Michael? This isn't Michael's song. If you TRIED to like ANY of Jermaine's songs, and it ALWAYS failed, why were you watching THIS one. That makes no apparent sense.

  • @lilbush98 That's the problem with MJ fans. they are shocked when a fan of Jermaine Jackson notes their preference for Jermaine over Michael! What they fail to realize is the fact that to Jermaine Jackson fans, his tunes are catchy! Diamond7771 hasn't realized that some folks like a full mature voice. Diamond couldn't fathom our anger at the loss of Soul Music and true Electronic Sound as a genre. She thinks the world is all about Dancing!

  • @Diamonds7771 wat the fuck is the point of comin on a jermaine video to diss him?

  • @Diamonds7771 Why compare, they may be brothers but two different types of artists with different sounds. Jermaine actually is quiet talented in his own right. One should not down play, you may not find his sounds as catchy as Michaels' but their voices are so very very different. I love them all. Each of them are talented in their own right.

  • @Diamonds7771 YOU are BORING!

  • it's quite shit isn't it

  • That's what I loved about Jermaine.He was experimental!This was a cool collabo!

  • thabmb40: Super cool collabo. Hit us with some major tune! Groovie. Edgy. Surfing on the rings of Saturn.

  • Ok This is Jermaine's song right? Then WHY the HELL are you dumb ass people talking about Michael? Leave Michael alone dammit. Last time I checked, this was Jermaine's song, not Michael's. I love the Jackson fam and all, but give Jermaine that respect. Goddamn, let Michael rest himself in loving peace.

  • I agree, I so wish all these people would stop comparing and trying to create division. It's not right. Jermaine NEVER tried to be MJ, he was and is an artist in his own right! They are different and Jermaine never tried to copy Michael, his music was always unique and his sound was Jermaine's sound. Michael's style and sound was his own. Jermaine will never replace Michael, you don't have to accept him. But he has his own fan base.

  • Exactly, they both started off at the same place, in 1969. This IS Jermaine's song, not Michael's. Jermaine probably doesn't give a damn what you people are saying because he knows the truth. Both of them are very unique in their own wonderful way.

  • @HaliB75 They make it seem like Janet is the only one who loved michael....people these days are crazy!!! the whole family loved each other and not only michael and janet the only one talented. I love jermaine's voice not so much of MJ's because of his style of music. People need to get a life.....I love michael once again but he's not the only talented person in the world

  • @spirit69warrior AMEN! But don't say it so loud, its like you said some folks are CRAZY!

  • @lilbush98 Thank you.. ... Very MUCH!

  • @lilbush98 I know thats right, I love the whole jackson family but alot of fans make it seem like Michael is the only one to come out with good songs.....um hello not!

  • ahhh,the 80s...

  • Were all devo people - hang on tight

  • I forgot about this song Im a big fan Of Michael and Jermaine.... All the damn Jacksons except latoya she really cant sing lol

  • Yeah, but her music is hilarious.

  • @algabal yeah your right about that lol

  • lol!!!

  • @algabal I love her music lol

  • @bnae71 I like latoya, Alot of people say latoya cant sing but janet can? Janet sometimes to me cant sing neither but All of the jacksons are talented

  • Damn I totally forgot about this song. It was a jam to me.

  • Remarkable. What a track! Thanks for uploading.

  • YIKES!

    How bizarre.

  • Jermaine is very talented. I love his music.

  • Are you kiddin me? This is pure DEVO.

  • Comment removed

  • It was written by J. Jackson/P.M Jackson Jr/Pam Sewyer/M. Mc Leod.

    Rythm Arrangement by Jermaine Jackson.

Produced by Jermaine Jackson and Berry Gordy.

  • His music is really MAGIC! You have so much to discover.

  • Fabulous collaboration; the groove is smooth. Brilliant idea - they got together and it was solid gold. Dress in tux and gown to this one, mon. The flow is right on it, from beginning to end... flawless. These guys crafted this so nicely.

  • great post I have not seen this one and I do agree with the other person Jermaine was a busy boy in the babies department

    LOL

  • My God, it's like bizarro world-- how did this ever happen...?

  • I dont ever recall any stories about how Jermaine hooked up with Devo in the first place. I remember Devo were one of the acts who popularized music that became known as New Wave.

  • I Love The Song Its Got A Good Beat That You Can Dance Too

  • If Jermaine would have stopped making babies and focused on his career (he IS talented) he would have continued to have a sucessful career. But, he instead got lazy and started bugging Mike about $ and touring.

  • @Ladysugarshaft yeah jermaine is really talented he's gorgeous...but all those kids lol lawd jayzus

  • @spirit69warrior

I'm from a family of Eight kids: What do you mean?

  • i just notice why michael was the successful one the others have no stage presence janet n michael does just standing there isnt gonna do irt move hat sexy body jermaine

  • @sexytrannienj Now we know that's nonsense don't we!

  • I vaguely remember this special. In fact, William Shatner was on this show as well doing a skit.

  • Two Spuds in great form too!

Where else would you find Jermaine Jackson, Fred Travalena and two guys from DEVO working the same gig?

  • RIP MJ and Fred

  • Hey, the guy in the beginning is Fred Travalena. He was a great impersonator. He died a few days after MJ.

  • Sure did!!!!!

  • you're right. Fred was great. How ironic, the video of this with the timing.

  • It is ironic. Fred lived up the street from my folks. His sons are good friends with my brother. They are having a memorial for Fred tomorrow in the Valley.

  • Peace to his memory as well.

  • I had forgotten what an awesome voice Jermaine had until today, MJ's memorial. I was in the 9th grade when this song came out and I remember it being very popular. Love it! Thx for sharing!

  • Yo, what's up wit that tight ass shirt, dude?

  • that was the style back then

  • great upload! nice funk tunes of the 80s? I guess Electric or Electronic Funk.

  • okay, so with a "Flying-V" guitar, you don't really need a strap huh? LMFAO!! do tha damn thang, Jermaine!!

  • it actually charted #18 pop, my mistake

  • Oh my gosh, I don't believe it!

  • this was an overlooked 1982 dance track that only charted on the dance/disco charts in august of 1982....

  • Comment removed

  • this sounds like a 70s left over disco tune...

  • No, it doesn´t.

    Disco is not electronic .

It sounds alot like 80s funk.

  • disoc is electronic. conisder giorgio moroders "i feel love" by donna summer, this was considered the first disco/electronic tune, moroder was condidered the god father of electronic disco...

  • Ive never heard any acoustic disco music, is it played with Cellos, balalikas and harps?

  • Maybe u should try learning a bit about Disco, then...Disco usually had big orchestras accompanying (try looking for BeeGees concerts in the late 70s)

  • Errm, hello, i was replying to and taking the piss out of the comment that said "Disco is not electronic", i am well aware of the fact that Disco music uses horns etc.

  • this is more DEVO than DEVO.

  • great song

  • ive always liked this song.

  • this song sounds weird initially, as most 80s music does, but it does grow on you after awhile. Not bad! Interesting beat, and of course, Jermaine looks damn sexy even with all that posturing

  • What a different type of tracke for Motown to put out in the very early 80's. It wasn't a big hit in NYC, but I do remember hearing it in other states while riding down I95.

  • When I buy a new computer, I SWEAR i'll make a house remix of that song!! It would be so sad if no one hear this fancy tempo in our 21st century! So with a lot of fancy basses, kicks, and synth... wow, it would be a HIT !!!

  • Jermaine is like the sexiest male Jackson!! Yummy.....

  • This is the coolest thing i've ever seen.

  • Because Michael was releasing his solo albums, it was just between "Off the wall" and "Thriller". He just wanted people to keep eyes on him, and not on the other Jacksons....

  • @messager3000 That is not all he did. I still remember the L A Babyface incident: He knew he had talented brothers. He wanted to keep them out of the spotlight : a lot like his fans! There was the sickness!

  • I'm still reeling over the idea that anything could possibly embarass Michael Jackson! LOL

  • Who did he embarass?

You can't even spell..I love you Jermaine...Let me Tickle Your Beautiful Face.

  • This was the first record I ever bought... I blared it on my boombox over and over...lol

  • i never knew devo did this song with him. i love this song.

  • This was the bomb 80's music at its finest...

  • Space Music without boundaries and prejudice.

  • I love this song!

  • Oh that Mark & Jerry, they're such jokesters!

  • You make it sound like he's dead. I just saw Booji Boy last month in Brooklyn.

  • I miss Booji Boy

  • Awesome! Where is Jocko?

  • best omnichord rockin ive ever seen.

  • Effin AWESOME!!!!!! It's amazing that war still exists. Wow my fancy coming.

  • This video tickled my fancy pants.

  • Devo and Jermaine Jackson introduced by Fred Travalena...does it get any better than that?

  • Love the production on this song!!!

  • well my opinion, first of all, "CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG"...LOL, and no matter who played, or wrote what for who, this track is still a hot crossover mix, that grabbed the attention of all genders, now enough said, enjoy the music.

  • This was the jam back when I was a kid in 82. I ould boggie to it at the 6th grade dance.

  • Such a fabulous boogie tune; can really dance to this one, especially some of the dances that came out in the effervescent eighties. Try do the one where you drop down and come back up real quick, then do the overhead "lasso".

  • you just totally made me remember the 6th grade dance so much more with the drop down lasso, omg Im flashing right now!!!

  • devo and a jackson...funny and good....

  • how funky is this song, I love Jermaine. I miss the old funk, wish there were more of this kind of muzic nowadays.

  • me too

  • The collaboration is incredible. It's smooth, it's funky - it's got verve. This was meant to be. The tune has an understated, silky groove.

  • OOh I loved this song when I was a kid. And the beat still affects me the same. It's still a snapy tune that's still danceable.

  • hey my friends i love to smoke weed with this song you should try it !!!!

  • pure magic!!!!

  • Jermaine Jackson and Devo?! I'm surprised the world didn't explode right after the performance. The dance is the 80's shuffle. It's basically the dance you did when you couldn't dance that good.

  • omg! this takes me waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. lol it's a good house cleanin' tune.....lmao

  • I'll keep that in mind. Pink Floyd's Bike and Interstellar Overdrive certainly did that on a couple of occasions

  • Whats the name of that dance Jermaine is doing?

  • its called sneaky dance lol

  • Rockin!

  • OK..I had no idea this was Jermaine and Devo...I used to really like this song back in the day...YOutube is sooooooooo what MTV wanted to be!! Thanks YOutube

  • I'll buy the song on iTunes if only because of Devo. They can even fart and I buy. DEVOLUITON IS REAL

  • That is Fred Travalena who introduces them. He is the greatest impersonator of all time. The Vegas mob offered him a fortune if he would sell his soul. He refused so the mob hired another guy to steal his act. Cheers to Fred for not giving in to the mob.

  • Wonder why didnt he last longer as a Solo artist? Now he is broke.

  • not that broke i think.. but he should of lasted way longe in music... he disaapeared in the mid 90's... as he type of music kinda died then in the mid 90's

  • I kno thts rite! I'd be broke too if I had to pay child support for 8 kids from around the World from 4 different women!

  • Janet pays his child support for the youngest 2 because they still live at havenhurst. The babymamma for the youngest 2 took him to court and he didnt have to pay because they couldnt tell his income.

  • Damn, now thats broke!

  • Sweet. This is the height of new wave music. Awesome. Thanks for loading this up.

  • this is amazing! had no idea devo ever did this!

  • I dunno. He couldn't even grab the guitar properly.

  • Hahaha how they chose to be called Spud and Pud DEVO!!! They didn't want their real names to rub off Jermaine's target market!! I'll mute the vocals and see how the whole song ends up, sounds like a good club mix

  • Wow!! I used to love this song. I actually have the 12 inch single.. I've never seen this performance before tonight! Thanks so much for posting this. You Tube rocks so much harder than MTV...

  • so random! jermaine jackson...devo?!

  • JERMAINE IS CUTE BUT MIKEY IS CUTER

  • nice got more
