Just thought i'd tell you that story and show you how much the bulls mean to their contractors. They have to be taken care well or they won't be able to do their job. Most of the time the bulls aren't even mean, they're often very friendly. At rodeos with all the sound, they get excited & want to chase & buck etc. They really do have a great life bucking proly roughly 10 seconds at a time & then going back to their pens to get all of the food they want. I even know a guy who gives them gatorade
I'm a bullrider and i've never seen these animals abused, the flank strap doesn't hurt them at all, It's like having a belt on thats just a hair bit to tight or loose, enough to make you want to rearrange it. They don't have thumbs so they can't exactly reach up and take it off.... Once at bullriding practice our coach put a flank strap on and before i got on they saw it was actually in front of his testicles. They then proceeded to take the time to take it off so that it wouldn't hurt him.
It just goes to show rodeo extremist hate their abuse being exposed. So they tell the exposers to kill themselves. Such passionate and understanding people you are! LOL, you have a special place in hell let me tell you now.
my friend and i have a few bulls that we let rodeos use for bull riding, they were BRED for it. and look up PEE WEE RODEOS, thats for kids, parents know what they're getting their kids into when they let them do this, but the kids are smart enough to watch their backs. horses and bulls love their job, they are very loyal animals. its not cruel. the rodeo stock are taken care better than the cowboys/cowgirls! learn your shit before talkin.

@Cloudruby9 the flank doesnt make them buck, it encourages them to kick out withere back feet when they buck, the best way i can descride it is to tighten ur belt 1 hole past where it is comfortable, it doesnt bring any harm to the horse, the flanks are actually wrapped in either wool or fleece to make it as comfortable as possible

PETA was at one of our HS rodeos in Sterling, and the contractor had a buckin horse and a bull that both bucked like hell without flank straps...so they made sure they put on a big show! It was great. PETA can go to hell...we take better care of our livestock than most people, and what we do does not hurt them. End of story. PETA and SHARK need to take a flyin leap and start worryin about the people that AREN'T taking care of their animals!

Ever heard of a bucking strap? Yeah.. Its used on every animal they can find so it "Bucks" The leather strap is digging into the skin of a flight animal.. Giving it the reason to "buck off the 'predator' thats ripping into its flesh." The reason these animals buck is not because they think its 'fun' or 'natural'

Ever heard of a bucking strap? Yeah.. Its used on every animal they can find so it "Bucks" The leather strap is digging into the skin of a flight animal.. Giving it the reason to "buck off the 'predator' thats ripping into its flesh." The reason these animals buck is not because they think its 'fun' or 'natural'
They buck because they think a predator is attacking them, and are going to kill them.

ill explain rodeos to ppl. the animals are placid the thing that makes em buck is the strap at the hind quarters. its tight and causes discomfort to relieve the discomfort the animal bucks cuz the legs stretched out release pressure, i think its cruel specially for male animals cuz you know what it wraps over a squashes. and yeah i love seein rodeo idiots get hurt saw one rodeo and never again.
