  • omg it's barking.... LOL

  • 0:04 AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE PRAYING MANTIS BARKED

  • awwww cute

  • I hope you killed it. Best if you did by breaking its arms off first.

  • That is funnier than watching a kitty chase a laser pointer haha

  • i didn't know that praying mantis can bark...

  • HEY ! There is a bug in the system -_-

  • Its so mindless

  • that mantis is running on Windows OS.

that's why that Mac is laughing its ass off.

        

  • i friggin hate cursors too!

  • LOL

  • looks like a blunt

  • Reformat ASAP.

  • That's just cool! The fact that they learn, ergo not slipping down the screen a second time, is just as cool.

  • Awww that's mean :( teasing the poor thing! lol I have one that looks exactly the same as that mantis in my laundry sitting behind the curtain window. It use to be on the very top window near the roof but it must have got freaked out by me coming near it to get a closer look and moved behind the curtain. I want to catch it and put it outside but I don't know how and I'm freaked out by it. I'm scared it will lung at me and bite if I try to help it outside. It's been inside for 5 days now.

  • @DaQueenBionca

I can't help much with moving one of these monsters out of doors. How we moved this one out was to take her, computer and all outside and let her climb off. I can assure you she won't eat your head off. Female mantises do tend to bite off the heads of their spouses, but not usually humans.

A straw broom sometimes works - just talk gently, coax her on to the bristles and take her outside. For the big huntsman spiders we get here, we use a shoe box, but they do run very fast.

  • @rodnmaria thanks for your reply. I ended up getting it outside. It was inside for way too long and started looking like it was getting sick so I just forced myself to overcome the fear and I took a feather duster and tried to get it to climb on that but it got freaked out and tried to climb on the roof and fell to the ground. I then got a clear container and slid some thin cardboard underneath to carry it outside, then put him on a tree. Mantises are so adorable! Your video is cute :)

  • @rodnmaria I'm a bit late seeing your reply but thank you for your advise. I ended up getting the mantis outside by putting a container over it because it was trying frantically to run away from me when I got close to it.

  • @DaQueenBionca Sheesh, just pick it up. I handle mantises all the time, they won't bite. They do have prickery legs so don't freak out by that. They're actually a lot of fun to play with, but if you're easily freaked out, be warned that they will tend to run up your arms. Just use a hand to block their way. Most bugs just want to get away. Mantis you can actually sort of interact with, which is fun as heck.

  • @demjp8RqDA That mantis was in my house 8 months ago as you can tell by the date on my last comment but I managed to get the mantis outside so it was all good for him in the end :) he freaked out when I went near him so I had to put a container over him and take it outside. I put him on a tree trunk and he seemed happy enough :) They are beautiful insects.

  • :-D wie geil!

  • @jamalziane Maybe yours is smarter than ours.

  • Adorable he's like what the hell is that a little cricket or something and why can't i grab it?

  • thats funny

  • I did that to my Thesprotia Graminis. As she was about to attack, she fell.

  • Wow, at first I thought it was a desktop application but then i read the description. That's really cool.

  • can someone help me i got 2 problems 1 i need to know if praying mantises of different species can mate and 2 my praying mantis twitches can someone help me

  • @OMFGtykeem I'm sorry to say this, but they'll very likely kill each other if kept together in captivity -- even if they do somehow manage to breed first. I've kept a mantis and they're rather endearing pets for insects, so I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

Whether the species are compatible, I wouldn't be able to say. That's a pretty big question for youtube, but maybe you can get an opinion from someone at your local zoo!

  • @Chrishankhah you are too pretty to know about mantises lol

  • @scootts88 It's real! We let it go, so it's out there somewhere.

  • @gecko1986 dont over-analyze the video.

  • must think its a fly

  • You, sir, are an idiot. You can't kill a bug with your cursor.

  • Should of increased the size of the cursor, thus making the mantis shit bricks

  • What's up with half the comments having :3 in them?

  • ahah Great VID- hate your dog.

  • Mahaha... XD

    That's cool^^

  • female mantises chop the heads off of the males after mating with their handle blades. i don't think tehy consider this cruel you god damn pussy

  • Do you believe that you're more of a man by using female genitals as a negative against me? This reflects that you have sexual issues with vaginas. I don't know what your sexual dysfunctions are, and I don't give a damn either!

Tho OP is teasing this bug, and it is cruel. What you claim that the female mantis does is irrelevant, and off topic, you drunk slob!

  • haha project much?

  • It's a fucking insect. Get over it and stop being a pussy.

  • You're sexist, and pathetic!

  • Um. The mantis isn't being teased- this is honestly funny. Dear god, how can you not find this funny? It's not like they're hurting the mantis. It's just amusing that it's mistaking moving pixels for food! :3

Don't go all PETA on us. Or drugstore psychology- the fact he cited -is- true, although it's more common in enclosures.

    It's not cruel or harmful.

  • Who is us, and who appointed you their speaker? You sound like a stupid republican.

  • 'Us' being everyone that reads the comments. And... what's wrong with republicans? Why are you making unwarranted assumptions about people due to their political party? That seems pretty close-minded to me. :3

Point is, you really need to relax, dude.

  • lol. Some insects just never learn...

  • what kind of animal is that, looks scary

  • @DKGkiller2

    That's a mantis

  • Ok, thanks. I'm glad though they don't live in my country xD

  • Actually, mantids are found on every continent, except for Antarctica! Chances are there is a species of mantid that lives around your area. :3 But don't worry- as scary as they look they're harmless, and they help with pest control.

  • Havent seen them yet Netherlands though :p I didnt thought they would harm anyone but I just dont like huge bugs...

  • funny=)

  • This is why you should never get a Mac. They're always riddled with bugs!

  • i didnt know Praying Mantis sounds like dogs when they hunt for food.

  • this bug's sound like a dog

  • Retard
