sleds have centrifugal clutches. they have 2 a primary and secondary. which is belt driven. they can shift i guess, but theres only one gear. if people think you have to manually shift a sled youre fucking stupid

@shawnyboie Your right in a way, when the RPM'S reach a sertain point, the spring inside the primary clutch will move allowing the weights inside the clutch to move wich in turn the spring compresses squeezing the belt, moving the secondary clutch wich has a spring that controlls the helix. So stiffer spring in the primary means higher RPM take off, when you get the weights and springs and the helix to all work right together, allong with your gears of course, you can do alot of things.

440s can beat almost any car off the line, but after that usually they get owned. a 800 skidoo can only top out at 140 mph if it was a triple, i doubt a porsche will lose to that, especially with 300 bhp

a sled would ruin a dirtbike. think about it. you can fit much bigger engines in a snowmobile, the track has waaaaaay more traction than a tire, more aero dynamic and can go faster in a top speed test and are harder to loop out with. im not dissing bikes cause i race motocross myself its just that a snowmobile is faster
