Brooke is the second worst partner of Derek's to perform a jive. I was going to say she was the only one, but Derek's season 9 partner Joanna had a point lower than Brooke's.

Can Brooke be any more of a suck-up? She's really trying too much to be a personality type dancer and the whole dance backfired on her. She and Derek are such showoffs in this dance (like they hadn't done it before ALL season).

i really don't hate her as much as i did when she was competing, but i'm still kind of upset that she won.

she's much better as a co-host, but it seems like she brags about herself all the time now. when they were showing top 10 viewer favorite performances, she kept making phony comments on how she wasn't in the list for any of her dances. i hate stuck up, "i'm better than everyone else", arrogant people and she's one of them. sorry that sounds a little harsh, but it's the truth.

Brooke won the season because she had a much higher score than Lance and Warren. Warren got 2nd place due to fan voting. Usually, when two people have the same exact score by the end of the third round in the finale, it's all about the vote. That's how Emmit (season 3), Shawn (season 8), and Donny (season 9) won over Mario, Gilles, and Mya (respectively).

Football players in the finale tend to get second place when their scores are low due to votes.

before performing for real, every couple does a taped rehearsal on the stage. now if derek had seen it and how it looked before that night, he could have tried to rearrange some of the choreography, so they could have saved themselves from disaster. if a celeb withdraws from the competition before the season, another takes in place of that. nancy o'dell (s8 expected constestant) got injured, then.melissa rycroft stepped in, only had 2 days of practice, and did real well the first week.

One word to describe this performance: awful. The beginning was weird, the movements awkward at times, and it was a slightly a little too slow.

The jive was horrible. Didn't really deserve a 7 to me.

I don't think the lift was blatant. It just happened and Carrie Ann's was disrespectful in my opinion.

And at around 4:25, it looked like she kneed him in the crotch.

@Recjus she's always disrespectful to a lot of couples. lifts are not illegal in ballroom dance (SYTYCD does them a lot). I don't know where she got her training from, but she's very harsh with something that doesn't please her. And I thought Len was harsh (he was an actual ballroom dancer; today, he's still a coach for dance students). Len once said in a 1994 interview that he's not critical with people who try really hard and is very critical when people go too much over the top with it..

Carrie Ann needs to shut up. I don't like it when she inaccurately tells that she a lift or that it's sloppy. UGH, I wish she will get replaced. (Len and Bruno can be harsh too, but they're better judges and they have ballroom backgrounds.)

Did Brooke ever really say 'Derek put a lift on this dance' I'm thinking Derek is the responsible one for allowing that lift since he is the choreographer.

@360xi I don't find it very fair that during the results shows, the pros are allowed do to lifts in ballroom dance and whatever else they want to put in the dance, but when they are in competiting with their celebrity partners, lifts are strictly prohibited (until the freestyle round at the end of the season).

I know. Another thing that bothered me is that Carrie Ann talks like if she is hurt, 'I find that a bit disrespectful' WTF? Just say something along the lines of there are consequences for some of the choices you guys decide to do.

Again, the pros make the dance so why do the judges go after the celebrities??

@360xi I hate it when the judges do that too, but there are one or two instances where they will complain at the pros (mostly who does that is Len).

Example: In the first week of season 9, Len yelled at Dmitry Chaplin (whose celeb partner was Mya) for letting his partner down by not teaching a proper Viennese Waltz and gave the couple a 5 while Bruno and Carrie Ann gave them 7's.

BROOKE was so awful here.....I think her technique overall is seriously lacking--even in te foxtrot she had NO HEEL leads....

I wish Misty and Toni B were still in it.. then it would have been a REAL competition.

Brooke has been using Derek for a crutch too long and now it is really showing..

Cheryl is our favorite. my best friend thinks derek is the ugliest thing to come out since....since...well since....poop. and those were her words exactly. and everyone i know thinks julianne is a bubblehead. BUT we all admit, no pro is better than another. they are all good. but i think edyta, karina, anna, deserve winning celebs. not just the houghs. but hate me all you want, i dont like em

Cheryl is just strict, cause she knows you have to push someone because they have it in them. Julianne and Derek are good dancers i'll give them that. but im sorry, i dont like em. you see famous ppl and you see someone and something about them just hocks u off. thats the way it is with them. i hate their attitude. i can count TWICE when they announced in previous seasons who was safe. julianne was TOTALLY not listening cause she had to ask. everyone i know hates them too.

she's not arrogant. she is strict. she knows that to be the best, you have to do your best, and thats her teaching method. push them cause she knows they can do it. if i ever became famous, and i went on this show, i want Cheryl as a partner. i want her to yell, scream, and push me till i get the dance routines down perfectly! even if it takes from sun up till sundown, i dont care. so no she is not arrogant. Julianne just thinks she so cute because shes young and blonde.
