I listen to non-English artists sing in their mother tongues and my first impression, no matter how angelic their voice, is to find out what the meaning of the words are. But of course it would have to happen overseas, because unfortunately the Philippines like most of Asia is so color-biased in their own media, he wouldn't stand a chance. Phils is oozing with talent, but from what I can see, only the 'mestiso' looking artists ever get real breaks.
