  • Hi! You didn't try to turn around the ring magnet - i think it should spin the other way when you do that, but you can't make it spin the other way with the stick thing, can you?

  • @kapierenundkopieren This was all done in the later videos.

  • Quite excellent video - Explains the concept very well - I understand now

  • have i missed something? i thought that hammels principle was based on "wieght into speed", namely the ocillations setup by the ball and magnet arrangement the inherent instabillity creates a situation of perpetual motion. the ball at all times trying to maintain it's equilibrium is in a constant state of "fall". i have pondered what the hammel system may mean to free energy. i think people are sidetracked by the gate itself.

  • The ball actually spins better WITHOUT oscillations. Works best at a right angle and pulled in straight line. And this can be accomplished without a magnet.

I have seen no evidence of perpetual motion from this device and I believe no such evidence exists.

The ONLY time I can keep it running is under the continual influence of my hands. I have also seen no evidence this device demonstrates any gate and I believe no such evidence exists.

And, yes, I believe many people have been sidetracked.

  • The Scientific Method At Its Best.

    Bravo!

  • Good video.

You should point out that the disk and ball assembly needs to lean over to cause the rotation. The trick is that the point of contact between the ball and the surface has to be a little off the axis of rotation. This is how the sideways motion causes the torque that causes it to spin.

  • It requires nearly imperceptible "lean over". To the naked eye, the axis appears perpendicular to the flat surface. The mind says the ball wants to roll, but, in fact, it spins when held upright by magnetic force or a simple stick. I have seen no evidence that a Hamel spinner will operate continuously without human interaction. It's simple magnetic attraction & interaction of a ball on a surface. So abandon this toy to learn & build a more useful Bedini SSG monopole energizer instead! :)

  • Or better yet, put big wheels on the back of your car so it is always rolling down hill.
