Quality of lighting, angle picture non if it is as powerful or important as the content or what you captured. And I appreciate it. Ya could have been shot better or what have you but you DID GREAT.
I lived 3 houses up the street from the gas station in 1993.I loved La Conchita I had planned to buy a house there.,I was living in Santa barbara when the slide happened.I gave up my dream to move back there..chris maeder.
I remember both landslides and the devestation from each. It's sad and horrible that it has happened, more than once. I am worried about the current storms and the effect it may have on your community. Please be safe and leave if there is even a hint of another slide!!!
We will never ever forget this tragedy. The victims of the mudslide will always remain in our hearts. The mirrored crosses should never have had to come down!!! Where there is love, there is always light. Nobody can take that away. Michelle, you are forever an inspiration. Your love will continue on... We need more mothers like you around. Love, light and healing to anyone who suffered from this terrible tragedy. From the east coast.
i was there at the landslide n i will never forget it that was the first time i moved to california i remember the tornado warning in the morning n i was in mi house when the hill fell i seen it fall through mi front window
i remember seein all the distress in the community
Lighting is not professional doc quality. History Channel may buy it...hope for that. Your fade to blacks are too long. More detail on the history of the fallen area. Get some soil engineers to talk about the why's and how's. Use the "refugee" music as a sound over for either a montage...or maybe credits - not for broadcast version. There is that show...seconds from disaster on A.N or TLC,this topic would fit well with that.
I completely agree with everything you pointed out / suggested. With the experience and knowledge that I have of filming / editing now there are LOTS of things I would do differently now! Music is definitely one thing that needs to be added.
Oh well, there's always that first time for doing something, just have to make everything else come off as more professional from here on out :)

Wow man, this is some pretty powerful stuff. I'd be interested to see the entire documentary when you finish. Great job.
