there's an error with CIT. It's about the medium stun shot of 30°
oct06, diagr.1 would give me 4.1°
sep06, diagr.1 would give me (aprox.) 4.6°
Can you tell me which one I should use?
I also know that CIT & SIT don't always add up but could I use diagram 3 from "Throw -- Part IV: spin-induced throw" to compensate for the amount of throw?
The numbers in the articles aren't as important as the trends. The exact throw values depend on ball conditions and shot speed. Slightly different speeds were used for those two diagrams. Also, throw amounts will vary from one set of balls to another.
The SIT article you mention applies to direct hits only. See my Jan'07 and Feb'07 articles for understanding how CIT and SIT relate for various types of shots.
Hmm, I thought those diagrams were theoretical, derived from TP A.14. I agree on the trends but I'm playing on a 6-foot table, smaller pockets. So I wanted to be precise before I made any global assumptions.
The theoretical diagrams still account for shot speed and ball friction. Again, friction can vary from one set of balls to another. New, clean, polished, smooth balls will have less throw than older, beat up, and dirty balls.
Thanks for the video! Very instructive.

I'm gonna take another closer look at Feb'07.
Thnks for your reply Dr. Dave
