The version by The Byrds was way more popular than Bob Dylans original version. Not to say that it was better, it was just more readily acceptable by the public. Dave Mustaine is a great writer, but he has absolutely NOTHING on Cliff Burton. Cliff was the driving force behind Metallica's music, not Dave, as you fanboys would have others believe.

I'm a huge fan of both bands, and am an enormous fan of the Samuelson/Poland era of Megadeth... But Dave can't top Cliff's writing.
