@bizzarnes12 all screws at exactly the same tension, that's the most important part . i like the head as loose as possible (press the head down in the center with your finger and to see if waves are somewhere in the head, than get them away by tightening the screws that are nearby. sometimes the screws on the opposite are the right ones. snare tuning is a bit more complex, but just try and don't be scared, you can always redo it.

Also does it matter the depth of the toms to achieve about that same sound you have in this video? also do clear and coated heads have any really sound enhancing effects?

@bizzarnes12 well different drums and heads have different properties. the deeper the toms the lower theyll sound. you can counter this by tunning the heads tighter. keep in mind too that i edit my videos and equalize the sound etc etc. (very poorly in my earlier videos like this one) check out my latest videos and youll see the difference

Hey quick question @arturbastos18 how do i tune toms cause i wanna tune mine and i cant fucking figure it out for shit to save my life any tips/help?

@bizzarnes12 i tune mine so that the batter and resonant head have the same tension and vibrate in unison. i only eighth and quarter turns to tune them.

so ill basically detune them completely then use eighth and quarter turns to achieve a sound i like then do the exact same thing for the resonant head. theres plenty of good videos showing how to do it too

Believe me, tune the heads kinda tight and loosen the snare wires, then you get a nice Megadeath-like punch that kicks ass lol thats IF the snare youre using is steel, it kinda sounds like it could be because i also have a Tama Artword snare and its got higher pitch and better warmth...

I like that you put your own spin on it man. When I airdrum it (XD because I can't really play it yet) it sounds different. I'm working on playing 'vengeance' right now. I need to work on my double bass control though. I went oldschool and got an iron cobra DB pedal. Do you use something with lighter kick than that? I notice I really gotta stomp mine to get a good solid rhythm and that means I can't keep it going for very long without getting tired.

then just get that into the beat playing in 16th notes
