  • tabs? :P

  • PLEASE make this an actual album track. =P~

  • without them..no muse

  • @whatstephanie seeing that they're 3, that's kinda obvious

  • quiet - smashing pumpkins?

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - here it is... Chris & Dom....

  • thenoblequran (Ctrl+Enter)

  • Damn!

    Chris is ridiculously good!

  • i love it how chris doesn't move as he cranks out pure awesomeness

  • Butterich [Timo Maas Remix] - Soundsplatt

  • Eargasm@ 0:20

  • Whowhoo.

  • That's what I call, Drum and Bass :D

  • hahahaha the comments on this are so amusing... and its all basically over who loves and knows muse more. How pathetic...

  • EVERYBODY!!!! Matt essentially writes the basic song! A basic bass line and some basic beats and Chris and dom major-ally improve on that to make it sound better- it's not all matt!! But most credit should go to matt though!

  • i can play the song now. After an hour of playing this. i can play it. but i dont really know the tuning. Standard? someone told me it was drop d

  • @crunkinthis Standard if you're using an octave pedal. Drop E to D and A to G if you don't have a octave.

  • @fungipower haha I guess so...

  • @HLGGanoth hey dude, have you ever spoken to Matt Bellamy huh? You know if you look at the comments, reading through them, guess who looks like the biggest idiot? You. So take your crappy facts and figures and shove them up your arse, because you have no absolute proof, of spoken word o the question "Do you write all the songs an music, ALL OF IT?" then come and start a fight where you're not wanted.

  • @07hwatkat you are stupid for replying to stupidity...

  • :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

  • i prefer Helsinki jam. different drums. ;d

  • matthew bellamy wrote all the songs, I have all the CD's and all their songs are written by Matt, so shut the fuck up themouseinator.

  • @histeria82 It says all their songs are written by him, meaning lyrics, and he would have come up with the main theme of the song, but it doesn't mean that he played all the instruments too. E.g., all the Led Zep records say "produced by jimmy page", but that doesn't mean he wrote and played the drums ti all their songs.

  • @basslover171

Producer is a completely different job...

  • @HLGGanoth There really are trolls everywhere. You really don't have to be an asshole about it. Ah, oh well, you live to troll so who am I to stop you?

  • @histeria82

    Wow, you're daft.

  • @xXi3GaaraXx

    Wow, you're a Naruto freak

  • Hey HLGGanoth...

    ...shut the fuck up.

  • @KnightSurge

Why you telling me to shut up? It's the truth you moron.

Just another ignorant person in denial...I also assume you think the holocaust didn't happen either?

  • I'm a HUGE Muse fan, i've got practically all their songs and b-sides, favourites and New Born and B&H.... but HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME.

  • I'm all for Claypool and Flea but they don't mean anything to me compared to the Wolstenbeast.

  • When others do "one, two, three - sound... cheking sound..." MUSE does Osaka Jam

  • MUSE does in recreation what others don't do even in studio.

  • The first sort of like "fill" that dom does on the drums when you get to see chris. Like. Right in the beginning. He does it, almost the same way, like... three more times or so. Ever since I saw this vid like... half a year ago, I've been doing that exact same thing very very often when I just jam along and so on. He's been such an inspiration to me, and I didn't even know.

  • They seriously need to make a song out of this

  • Butterich - Soundsplatt (Timo Maas Remix)

  • Just 2/3 of Muse, and they still sound phenomenal. Muse is truely THE greatest band in the world. EVER!!!

  • Where is Matt and who is recording...(I´m sorry if I write wrong)....

  • idk, most of these clips are recorder by Tom, but i'm not sure if this is one of them. and Matt, ehm, who knows? somewhere xD

  • @Amarece Alot of times just chris and dom do jams together. Matt is not in those.

  • bassist of the decade..i think...i never see a bassist as good as him besides flea and cliff burton!!!!

  • @Metalllians86 he is way better than cliff, cliff was over-rated it only coz he died everyone gone crazy on him, tho i do like metallica and his work

  • Not to be a dick but the bassist in Necrophagist is probably better. I like Chris a lot still though. Also, you're forgetting Les Claypool :P

  • @Metalllians86

im a fan, but im also a bass player and i find that insulting. try marcus miller or victor wooten

  • @Metalllians86 Les Claypool.

    'Nuff said.

  • @Metalllians86 Watch Geddy Lee

  • @Metalllians86 and Les Claypool

  • @Metalllians86 check motograter out, you will really like them if ur into bass jams, the bassist created his own bass instrument, pretty sweet shit

  • @Metalllians86

the thing is. Like, He's not THAT spectacular. He's just better than Almost everyone at writing Riffs. lol.

    He is a riff god.

Great Bassist. But there are countless others who far exceed his ABILITIES(not his writing skills)

. But he will always be a fav. due to his riffs.

  • @michaelespinosa

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Chris doesn't write the basslines, it's Matt. He legally owns all writing credit for all the songs on every Muse song ever written. Matt is the one who even writes the drum beats and patterns. Matt even mentioned he wrote the "Helsinki Jam" in an interview a month or two ago as well. Rumor has it, the only basslines Chris ever wrote that WE HAVE HEARD are the Osaka Jam and Starlight, but that's unverified.

  • @HLGGanoth sigh.. my bubble is bursted. thats really sad. can you please send your sources.

  • @michaelespinosa

If you're a true Muse fan, you already own the source.

If you own a Muse CD, take a look on the little pamphlet inside, it says the only composer for the music is Matthew Bellamy.

If you don't own one, look it up on Google, it will show up.

  • @HLGGanoth He doesn't write drum patterns, he blatantly stated he can't play drums for the life of him. He probably works with Dom to see what sounds best, but that's that. And yes he may write a lot of the basslines for Muse, but we don't know for certain what goes on. Chris is an amazing bassist either way, I'm sure he's had his fair bit of input in song production.

At the very least, he's an amazing player.

  • @HLGGanoth that's bullshit, matt doesn't write the drums to anything

fair enough he might do SOME of the bass, but chris does most of it...

  • @arunr01

You're basing your statement off of...what?

    That's right, nothing.

Look asshole, buy any Muse album and look at the liner notes in the booklet inside.

"Music by Matthew Bellamy : Lyrics by Matthew Bellamy"

I'm sure you don't own one though, as you probably aren't a legitimate fan. Just some jackass who steals their music off of Limewire.

There is even footage from The Resistance DVD where it shows Matt teaching everyone their parts.

Stop bashing me you ignorant little kids, its fact.

  • @HLGGanoth i've just read through all of the muse albums and they just say songs written by matt bellamy not that he wrote the music

  • @adybrewell006

I hope you recognize the idiocracy of your comment...

SONG = MUSIC!!! MUSIC IS COMPILED OF WHAT ARE KNOWN AS "SONGS"

    MORON!!! A SONG IS MUSIC!!!

Was that a joke? Please tell me it was...

  • @HLGGanoth dude i hope you recognise the idiocracy that you are, you are fighting against many people, you are the only one person on here who says that matt bellamy wrote it all have you not realised that no one gives a fuck about your opinion? the best thing for you to do is stop wasting peoples time and stop commenting you mnight make quite a few people on earth happy

  • @adybrewell006

    1. There is difference between opinion and fact.

    2. The only reason different people are arguing with me is because they all are the type of "fans" who listen to the music and watch a few interviews, that's it. They don't buy the albums, they don't look into the band, they don't attend the gigs, etc. Basically, they don't know shit about them and assume they're right.

The facts are right there in black and white, look anywhere! Muse albums, wikipedia, mp3 properties, etc.

  • @HLGGanoth

    3. When you're trying to argue with someone, can you AT LEAST be original? Why the hell did you copy what I had said..."I hope you recognize the idiocracy...".

It's just that everyone here is just some 14 year old fanboy or fangirl who think they know all about Muse just because they watched a couple interviews and live videos. I bet I know more about them than any of you probably so do me a favor and just shut up you're ignorant little selves.

  • @HLGGanoth you're such a douche

  • @arunr01

    You're such an idiot.

  • @HLGGanoth that sounds like the reply of someone who can't think of a good comeback...

  • @arunr01

Because I'm done arguing with ignorant assholes like you who can't accept the truth.

There's nothing more I can say that can convince you, so why try?

  • @HLGGanoth ok, if anything, you're the ignorant asshole who can't accept the truth.

even when all these people disagree with you, you're still too arrogant to admit you're wrong

    think about it...

  • @arunr01

The majority disagree with me because the majority don't know their facts correctly. I bet that EVERYONE who has replied to me so far has been a Muse fan for less than a year and has never attended a Muse gig.

It's like that book 1984, 2+2 DOES NOT = 5, but if everyone believed it was true, does that make it true? The answer is no, and this is the case for these comments.

If you're going to keep replying, AT LEAST study what you are arguing about first instead of rushing to reply!

  • @HLGGanoth i have been a muse fan for most of my life, they've been my favorite band for as long as i can remember, i've seen them loads of times, and i'm going to wemblry in september.

this is nothing like that because you are wrong and the masses are right.

get your head out of your own arse for a second and you'll see you're wrong

  • @arunr01

Just look at the properties of the mp3 files of any Muse song: "Composer: Matthew Bellamy". Even the album booklets! In the back they will say, "(List of songs)...written by Matthew Bellamy. Even wikipedia states under their albums, "All songs by Matthew Bellamy (Except where noted)"...and it never notes any! EVEN INTERVIEWS AND STUDIO FOOTAGE prove this!!!

If you don't look this up yourself, you will never know, so do this before you comment back and make yourself look like a fool.

  • @HLGGanoth I love how Wikipedia is one of your "credible" sources. Oh, and maybe you're right and everybody else is wrong like you say, but it's pretty obvious that you're not going to convince anybody here, so why don't you just shut up.

Just so you know, you're wrong.

  • @HLGGanoth *sigh* i looked it up, it means that he wrote the tune

as i said before, he has an influence in the bass and MAYBE the patterns of the drums, but it's chris and dom that end up playing what they want to. If you knew anything about music maybe even been in a band (your band members would probably hate though you because you think you know everything), then you would know that one person making all the decisions doesn't work and eventually everyone will quit...

  • @HLGGanoth Yeah, it says "composer", he put them together, and he would/may have assembled the songs in the studio, but that doesn't mean that he WROTE every piece of music of every song. He wouldn't have had much to do with the bass and drums side of things, that sort of stuff is up to each member of the band.

  • @HLGGanoth i happen to have every muse album including live ones and quite a few singles, i've listened to them since i was old enough to appreciate decent music so since OoS

when it say bellamy wrote it, it means the main tune, yes he probably had some influence over the bass and drums but in the end it's chris and dom's decisions. a band where one person decides everything doesn't work. if you've ever watched a muse interview you'd know that matt and dom argue over ideas and chris decides.

  • @arunr01 youre actually right im siding with you, ive been a muse fan for years now been to two shows and can definitly appreciate all of their music

  • @Metalllians86 FUCK YEAH!

  • @Metalllians86 except flea has made millions off of playing slap bass over the same pentatonic scale for 15 years and is grossly overrated

  • @WarrenNesteruk he stopped playing slap bass as frequently in 1991 on the blood sugar album and has only used it on a handful of songs since.he focuses more on melodic bass lines now, and has spent the better part of his time on hiatus from the band studying music theory.he is not grossly overrated, he is one the best bassists in recent times.

  • @Metalllians86 and John Paul Jones and Rob Trujillo :)

  • @Metalllians86 Um Les Claypool? Why is he not with them?!

  • @Metalllians86 bro dont think from Rage Against Machine.

  • @Metalllians86 Uhm, really? Larry Graham? Without him there would be no Flea. Victor Wooten, Stanley Clark, Marcus Miller (to name just a few)? Learn your bass players dude. No doubt Chris is one of the most innovative bass players out there in terms of sound, but from a standpoint of pure skill he's got nothing on the above mentioned players.

  • @d4enius i think hes a little bit better than flea..

  • @Metalllians86 ALSO SCOTT REEDER

  • @Metalllians86

    Les Claypool?

  • @grimchain John Myung ?

  • This is one of the best bass rock riffs I've heard.

  • I want this to be a fucking song so bad!

  • @robitfuel then you should hear the HELSINKI JAM

  • @TheYoshisisland That was an awesome d'n'b jam. Thanks dude.

  • @TheYoshisisland Helsinki Jam live is great, but I would love to hear this one live, it's much better I think..

  • @robitfuel But Fury and Hysteria are also standouts...along with numerous others.

  • I was so disappointed when this jam didn't appear anywhere in The Resistance. Grrr.

But I have a feeling their next album will be heavier

  • @madpaintbalerx lol i know the resistance album is hot but i cant wait for the next one to come out lol

  • another 3-4 years to wait.....sigh

  • now 2 and a half

  • I like this jam waaaay better than the Osaka they regularly played live.

  • this sounds really like bjork "army of me"

  • True, Didn't notice that before

  • i wonder what the new jams called ???

  • Helsinki Jam. Very similar to Osaka. I've got a vid of it in Dublin from Friday night on my channel

  • Helsinki Jam is not similar to Osaka... It's played on drums and bass, but the jam itself is totally different.

  • @jenithekop nargh not realy. only thing that simular is dom and chris

  • Helsinki jam, as it was 1st played in helsinki :)

  • the new jam is called drmu and bass haha only fans are nicknaming it helsinki jam

  • There is also a Glasgow jam that just came out

  • i like helsinki jam more... but this is still great!! looove dom!!

  • Helsinki Jam is much better, this is awesome but Helsinki Jam is much less repetitive and the drum and bass parts are more difficult

  • Helsinki Jam is a lot better actually.

  • Awesome but unfortunately, it is no longer simply a jam, but an actual song that they play on several occasions.

  • nah, it's still a jam - it's a filler riff for song transitions, not really a complete song.

  • i do actually want it to be a complete song. imagine how good it could be

  • this the real and only Osaka jam!

  • osaka jam now has a brother...

  • \/ What that guy said \/

  • 0:08. Bellamy's Manson Guitars! I really want his Manson Bomber! Legit Jam session!!!

  • i want his 7 string, bomber, MB-1, and his laser

  • luckiest camera man on earth

  • probably tom kirk. he goes everywhere with them.

  • this would be a gr8 comeback for MUSEs old style... i still loved their last stuff..

  • I still think this is the best version of this riff ever...

  • i second- the live versions aren't even close

  • Love it!

  • Cool bit of phaser here :D

  • Lol, Osaka Jam Unfortunately Is Not On The Resistance. Man I Really Wish It Was Damnit.

  • God same!

  • i think it will be in there somewhere, maybe not called osaka jam, i cant wait for it its gna be immense

  • That's what i'm thinking. It's probably in one of the songs. Like the Stockholm Syndrome riff was played just as a jam like this, and ended up being in Absolution.

  • howd you know its not?

  • I know some inside things, My friends dad interviewed them, Lucky sob of a kid lol.

  • journalist quick review, it was leaked during short interviews, french journalists listened quickly, and made overall description of each song. they assure there is no osaka jam in here. BUT: massive riffs are coming in Guiding Light and MK Ultra. but maybe osaka jam for a b-side? who knows. i really hope for it

  • k... fair enough... but it still could b on the album follow up to "the resistance" cuz theyre not gonna take a break after the tour and theyll start recordin right away...

  • i pray to god that they do make a new album.

  • YOu trust the media now??:P

  • osaka jam is not the actual name of the song... these is a title the fans gave to it since it was first played in japan... it still could be on the album...

  • People aren't liking the new album already? Jeeeze what critics lol.

  • YEAAAAAH 00:25!!!

  • where are they ??

  • Type in "Tama Starclassic"

  • Journalists listened to the album, OSAKA JAM IS NOT ON THE RESISTANCE ALBUM.

  • Thing is, is that we don't know if they've incorporated it into a song.

  • Link where this is stated please.

  • and who told you? and how do you know? did someone journalist tell you... "the drum n bass riff named osaka jam by the fans is not incorporated into any song"?

  • in microcuts french part forum.

When Muse came in paris for short interviews, journalist members of the forum were there, and had an iPod with the record in it. then have done a quick review of each song, and they assure there is no osaka jam. BUT: massive riffs are coming for Guiding light and MK Ultra!

  • One of Doms ex kits is for sale on ebay!!!

  • Where?

  • omg, is it the clear one?

  • Thing is, if this is on the resistance, that means Dom won't be able to improv. the drum. D:

  • Why not? They improv plenty of songs that are on albums. Just listen to "Apocalypse Please" from Wembley... sounds SO different, and SO awesome.

  • Beautiful.Just....Beautiful.....

I really REALLY hope this is on The Resistance....

  • I love Dom's snare.

  • i dont, i think it flushes out the sound of chris's bass

  • Wow awsome i hope ita on the next album!

  • brutal headbanging !

  • awesome as hell

one of my favorite beats to headbang to.

  • love that drum sound

  • this is bein made into a song on the new album!!!

  • is it actually? ive looked on muselive and stuff and theres nothing about it, only the fact that its been like an intro to plug in baby and other songs...

  • Really?!? This album gonna be intense!

  • Its going to be called The Resistance

  • Its listed as a POSSIBLE song. Not a deifinate!

  • i hope its a deffinate!!!

  • So do I mate :D I saw them perform this at the V Festival last year. Was AMAZING!

  • dude, you dont need drum tabs, you just listen to the music. trust me, i've played drums for 5 years and memorizing a piece is way easier and more rewarding that reading it off of a sheet

  • The descending part of the bass line has always reminded me of Rage Against the Machine's a bullet in your head. Does anyone else hear it? I find myself seeing similarities in songs all the time but am not sure if they really exist.

  • yeah i see what you mean. i know for a fact that muse are big fans of rage against the machine (hence the maggies farm riff at wembley) and it is a jam, maybe chris based this riff on the outro riff on bullet in your head?

  • Hell yes! I made the same comment months ago and nobody agreed with me! It is so Bullet in the Head. The part of the song at the end where it really starts to kick ass and Zach is screaming at the top of his lungs "A BULLET IN THE HEAD! A BULLET IN THE HEAD! A BULLET IN THE HEAD! YOU'VE GOT A BULLET IN YOUR FUCKING HEAD!"

  • i just listened to the 'bullet in your head song" and i can deff. see the simularities.
