  • I have a bit fear allthough :S

  • i would prefer to see the all these physicians wear white lab-coats... it would look much more sexy then basecaps and baggy pants!

  • pregnant woman in charge i like that

  • Exciting stuff wish it could happen faster though!

  • Anxiously awaiting the next installment CERNTV! Great stuff, thanks for making it available in this venue.

  • MILF

  • Congratulations to the folks at CERN !

  • gratz but you're going too slow

faster please! we need to see what's down there :P

  • 'she hot...what LHC, ' ...ARE YOU KIDDING ME. This character cant be serious, although obviously he is. All kinds, wow.

  • Black Hole? Are you serious? When are star collapses it won't create a black hole. What makes you think the LHC will be able to make a sustainable black hole of any significant magnitude. Do your home work before making stupid comments unit.

  • Please have an interview with the main guy Lyndon Evans!

    Good work keep it up.

  • This video made me smile but your comments made Jesus cry.

  • She hot.... what LHC

  • @teenee4

poor fool, the slightest vision of 40-year-old woman, who takes care of her appearance a bit as much matter which other woman of her generation ...

and you have an erection ? you bandage ? you have trickled down 1 liter on your keyboard ? it sticks ?

  • @alpacks to teene4

would be hushed up not this generation of pork which masturbates 10x a day in front of its pc ?

when you go for a walk in the street, you jump on all women: you are hot biatches !

quickly go back to your life of shit, to masturbate you such hyperassets ... so fat of your hamburger and pizza and ton semen on your keyboard vomits ...

    here we speak science !

  • I'm a lezzo I eat carpet. How's that for science.

  • so in other words they're still calibrating the machine

  • Take your hand out of your pockets when you're talking to me

  • If the two beams were brought into collision, the energy would have been near 2.36 TeV. It will be exciting to see the beam energies reach the next milestone of 3.5 TeV for a potential collision energy of 7 TeV.

What will really be interesting to me, is if they will be able to push beyond the LHC design limits to achieve beam energies near 20 TeV by the year 2020.

Be prepared for major breaking news from this facility by 2013.

  • Thats a better musical choice! Keep up the new world knowledge discoveries=)

  • Congrats to all of you at CERN......Amazing work! The future is exciting.

  • God damn its exciting how this all will be :D i cant wait to hear about the results Good work CERN (Y)

  • sweet

  • Nicely done - I wonder how long it will take (how much more testing) to get both beams up to 7TeV each. Full credit to CERN but the world wants to see full-speed collisions too.

BTW I don't think the clothing is too tight at all, in fact it's just right. ;)

  • Congratulations CERN!

On a side note: Her clothing is too tight.

  • Congrats CERN. You deserve it!

  • Conrats to everyone involved! At least the people who seriously believed the world was gonna end if the collider was switched on have most likely committed mass ritual suicide and the gene pool is better off for it!

  • Well said! Keep going people at CERN!!!

  • Congratulations!

And nice xsnow on the X server at 0:55 (good idea, didn't have it running on my desktop for several years).

  • Congratullations you all CERN people,

    thanks miss Paola Catapano,

  • That which is in the core of every particle is the totality that is known as All-Oneness.

—Emmanuel, To Group de Lucinge, August 1990

  • Things seem to be going super smoothly, keep it up!

  • Awesome!

  • can't wait till we see collisions at the higher energy levels. does anyone have any idea when they will reach 7 TeV per beam?

  • There is a new scientists article about it, they should reach 3,5 TeV early next year, and 5 TeV before end of 2010. After that they have to shut down and upgrade the collider before aiming to 7 TeV.

  • @chortta yeah they will take over the world with a particle accelerator!

  • yes, just as they took over the world with china fireworks powder

  • I am glad to be alive in such an exiting time.

    Go LHC crew!

  • Great!

The LHC is working and better particle science will be able to do!

*The Higgs is not far away*

    5*

  • Does Higgs exist?? - We'l have to wait...... (Bites nails)

  • What Operating System is used on the computers? (clients, servers).

    Would be neat to know.

  • Its most likely a derivative of Linux that CERN developed themselves.

  • As far as I know most of the control systems run on Linux. You may find some user interface client application running on Windows. I'm sure some of the low level electronics run some hard real time OS like VxWorks though I'm really not sure about that part.

  • Linux ;) Their GRID computing environment (for monitoring real time data) is a new Java platform which was developed in partnership with Google. There are some good GoogleTalks related to CERN around on utube.

  • scientificlinux[dot]org, you frequently see Gnome in screenshots.

However i read they have to use Windows in some places where hardware is bound to closed source drivers. This doesn't apply to the experiments, so i suspect they're talking about things like security equipment that isn't developed by them.

  • grazie ai fisici italiani ecco si puo fare grazieeee

  • YIPPPEEEEE!!!

    This is truly awesome.

I wonder what will be learned? this is incredible, what an undertaking.

WOW, I'm the first to view, rate and comment too.

  • great!

first step to collide protons for 14 TeV
