Black Hole? Are you serious? When are star collapses it won't create a black hole. What makes you think the LHC will be able to make a sustainable black hole of any significant magnitude. Do your home work before making stupid comments unit.
would be hushed up not this generation of pork which masturbates 10x a day in front of its pc ?
when you go for a walk in the street, you jump on all women: you are hot biatches !
quickly go back to your life of shit, to masturbate you such hyperassets ... so fat of your hamburger and pizza and ton semen on your keyboard vomits ...
If the two beams were brought into collision, the energy would have been near 2.36 TeV. It will be exciting to see the beam energies reach the next milestone of 3.5 TeV for a potential collision energy of 7 TeV.
What will really be interesting to me, is if they will be able to push beyond the LHC design limits to achieve beam energies near 20 TeV by the year 2020.
Be prepared for major breaking news from this facility by 2013.
Nicely done - I wonder how long it will take (how much more testing) to get both beams up to 7TeV each. Full credit to CERN but the world wants to see full-speed collisions too.
BTW I don't think the clothing is too tight at all, in fact it's just right. ;)
Conrats to everyone involved! At least the people who seriously believed the world was gonna end if the collider was switched on have most likely committed mass ritual suicide and the gene pool is better off for it!
There is a new scientists article about it, they should reach 3,5 TeV early next year, and 5 TeV before end of 2010. After that they have to shut down and upgrade the collider before aiming to 7 TeV.
i've got some bad feelings about LHC and it's future derived military or government applications to control the mass, don't tell me it won't! cuz we still see shit happens everywhere around us

Ofc it will, this stupid population needs to be controlled with 0.01% minority. Who cares for stupid people? It's not that they will lose something by being controlled by elite, at least they will serve some purpose instead of just consuming and enjoying their dumb lives...
As far as I know most of the control systems run on Linux. You may find some user interface client application running on Windows. I'm sure some of the low level electronics run some hard real time OS like VxWorks though I'm really not sure about that part.
Linux ;) Their GRID computing environment (for monitoring real time data) is a new Java platform which was developed in partnership with Google. There are some good GoogleTalks related to CERN around on utube.
scientificlinux[dot]org, you frequently see Gnome in screenshots.
However i read they have to use Windows in some places where hardware is bound to closed source drivers. This doesn't apply to the experiments, so i suspect they're talking about things like security equipment that isn't developed by them.
I have a bit fear allthough :S
