if we must pick bible bashing is more fun, science is a bit more prolofic, but why does it need to be a one or the other situation? Do both. What ever mood strikes you do that next.. don't make us pick t-f00t give us both
There are a lot of home based science channels on youtube, but no one does anything quite like why people laugh at creationists. It has the perfect blend of logic, reason, science and mocking satire.
Seems like you're a little more excited to do home science stuff. But before you do I have to warn you; anything with "audience participation" needs a serious disclaimer at the beginning of it. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE etc etc etc. The LAST thing I ever want to see if some asshat creationists throwing a wrench in your works because someone burned off their eyebrows trying to imitate something you did.
I would like to see videos that demonstrates how science helps us in our daily lives. How the years and decades of hard work from scientists creates a better world for mankind. have videos that historically demonstrate how religion and superstition hinder science and progress. I you can include things like explosions, firearms, hot chicks, cute babies/kittens, and puppies in your videos you will kick ass.
So are gona make a rocket with household stuff or not? Damn you got me all excited and then you dont do it. If you dont i warn you: i will believe in god. In all of them.
To be happy, follow your bliss. It seems to me that you are itching to do some “cool science” videos. I hope you balance that with the knowledge that there are many people making sure videos and pod casts. I listen to 3 or 4 every day. I loved your videos that featured Jupiter and how making a time-laps video of that planet can change a person’s view or our world. I must assume that your other ideas are equally compelling.
I grew up as both a xain fundy and somewhat a natural skeptic. The skeptic side won slowly over the years and I left the religion, but some of the concepts were harder to let go of than the religion. This is when I found your videos. Sort of a case of ‘when the pupil is ready, the teacher will arrive.’ To be that cache of skeptical reasoning, you do not need to release new videos on the subject often or run over old subjects all the time.
Your personal evolution may have changed you, but what I hope you do is: When religious pseudoscience hits mainstream media or hit some high threshold of internet popularity, mercilessly tear it apart using true science.
The production quality and the content of your videos are phenomenal, and I look forward to whatever you produce, be it physics, astronomy, rocketry, or golf.
The science vids are fun, T-F00t... and the vids that basically just glorify science have some phenomenal beauty in them. But no one comes close to your level of skill in creating Creationist-stomping material - no disrespect intended to the great works done by AronRa, dprjones & others, but in my opinion your vids are incomparable to anything else that's out there.
To be fair, the Ark was possibly real. Made out of reeds, not wood, and Babylonian, not Jewish, but historical. Its also a theme park, so its not really any crazier than, say, Typhoon Lagoon in Disney World. There is, of course, a major issue with the expenditure of tax money, but if the endeavor were entirely private, it wouldn't be crazy.
And yes, we do build replicas of things in our story books...that's exactly what Disney does, remember. ; )
i love science vids, they are truly amusing... but i think the WDPLAC saga is a must-watch for everyone and a hope for a change and a better future (and a much better society) where the illogical fantasy of all those gullible ignorants turns into knowledge so they can do something constructive in life for human kind and help with medical breakthroughs and stuff
i hope you keep making fun science dont-try-this-at-home experiments too but we need the WDPLAC vids
I love the videos about the beauty of the universe and science. I'm not into the more antagonistic approach to religion anymore. Religion fills a need people have. I think we need to move forward and point to solutions, alternatives.
if you're referring to the donation money you received as a result of your house divided video, well i'm not exactly sure what your expected outcome should be. it almost seemed that you wanted funding to help promote why religious views hinder scientific development. if making rockets out of coke bottles is how that's achieved, well i guess i over estimated the religious community.
There are a million "how to" videos on youtube already. I prefer the demolition of creationism. Maybe mix a monthly astronomy update and a monthly science project?
I enjoy your channel for your mix of interesting videos on Science and religion. The majority of people have passing interest in subjects and science and religion is a large market, going down just one route or the other would seem to be narrowing your outreach needlessly.
Man... Your page is one of my favorites because it has a variety and no matter what you seem to put up it's always entertaining. It's difficult to choose but for your sake I'd say more chemistry projects since I'd imagine you have to spend far less time recording and editing those.
How about a video on free energy? There are many video out there on youtube of supposedly successful free energy machines built in ones own garage. Why not give a shot at building your own free energy machine Tfoot or have you already been tapped not to move into anything "too controversial"?
Alternate; rocket science and combating ignorance. Challenge VFX to fuel a rocket with faith that goes higher than yours with rum and hydrogen peroxide.
More WDPLAC, but with a touch more science and a touch less vitriol would be nice, perhaps you could think of some experiments that provide evidence against creationism? Also, more things that go bang.
There are islamic creationists and lots of islamic scientific miracle claims, and you could probably make a nice series why people laugh (or should laugh) at this shit.
Both. Science is a vehicle for learning, but trashing creationist arguments is a vehicle for avoiding spreading the disease of religious ignorance. Increase learning/decrease ignorance is a combo I like. Plus my children have as a chore to review your videos often. A win-win situation for me.
both, it's hard to say. I love scientific experiments, especially dangerous ones. But I understand it takes more time. Whatever is easier for you is fine.
As much as I am entertained by laughing at creationists, I do enjoy watching your scientific posts. I would be willing to bet that most of your subscribers already know that creationism is bunk, and the issue should be dealt with if there are any new, outlandish claims. As long as it's relevant, it is good with me.
Can't you mix the creationist pot shot in there once in a while? I like watching interesting chemistry vids, but watching an actual scientist crack open creationist skulls is pretty damn entertaining. How about, you end your show with a silly creationist of the week shellacking..... or something like that.
Making videos refuting "nutjobs" seems a bit wasteful, as non-nut jobs know they are not to be trusted, and nutjobs tend not to think of themselves as nutjobs, and aren't interested in being wrong despite evidence. How to make rocket fuel in your kitchen is useful for all *shifty eyes*
How about a bit of each? I mean the WDELAC series is fun, but at the same time I really love the home science stuff that I can do myself and impress my friends with, and usually learn something in the process (I think the Mr G show is awesome for example :)). Then again having more difficult science experiments you shouldn't do at home gives you access to learn more cool stuff you wouldn't hear about otherwise. I'd also like some more stargazing vids, they're really cool. :)
Well, when I first started watching your channel a year ago, it was Why Do People Laugh At Creationists, that attracted me (and what I mostly recommended to people since) =) But I really am curious about this experiment, so I think I'd like to see the Heinz baked beans experiment =) The mystery box also attracts curiosity, but definitely the Heinz baked beans experiment!
I'm sorry... I came here for Rocket fuel.

More 'Why Do People Laugh at Creationists'.
gothkid287 10 months ago
Alternate; rocket science and combating ignorance. Challenge VFX to fuel a rocket with faith that goes higher than yours with rum and hydrogen peroxide.
rwburdett 10 months ago
More WDPLAC, but with a touch more science and a touch less vitriol would be nice, perhaps you could think of some experiments that provide evidence against creationism? Also, more things that go bang.
Fierfek1972 10 months ago
How about continuing both.
Newenlightenmentnow 10 months ago
AHH! I just don't know, I love them both so much!
DueCarnage 10 months ago
There are islamic creationists and lots of islamic scientific miracle claims, and you could probably make a nice series why people laugh (or should laugh) at this shit.

creationist videos... i love what you do with them... dont get me wrong, the science ones are great, but i'd like more of the religion videos
RazorsEdgeStudios 10 months ago
I enjoy both these things. I agree with the 1-to-1 or even 1-to-2 in favor of science.
xXBeastProductionsXx 10 months ago
how about 1 to 1, 1 for y do people laugh at creationists and 1 for home made chemistry?
coolhead20 10 months ago
@coolhead20 I like your idea, but WDPLAC videos take more time to produce, so, maybe 3 parts science, one part old, very old fashion myths?

Wegmans!
KingGuiseppi 10 months ago
Both. Science is a vehicle for learning, but trashing creationist arguments is a vehicle for avoiding spreading the disease of religious ignorance. Increase learning/decrease ignorance is a combo I like. Plus my children have as a chore to review your videos often. A win-win situation for me.
jolulipa 10 months ago 39
both, it's hard to say. I love scientific experiments, especially dangerous ones. But I understand it takes more time. Whatever is easier for you is fine.

rock on, glad i contributed as well, now lets see some chemistry. ^_~

As much as I am entertained by laughing at creationists, I do enjoy watching your scientific posts. I would be willing to bet that most of your subscribers already know that creationism is bunk, and the issue should be dealt with if there are any new, outlandish claims. As long as it's relevant, it is good with me.
swankydee 10 months ago
Can't you mix the creationist pot shot in there once in a while? I like watching interesting chemistry vids, but watching an actual scientist crack open creationist skulls is pretty damn entertaining. How about, you end your show with a silly creationist of the week shellacking..... or something like that.
brmadman4455 10 months ago
Making videos refuting "nutjobs" seems a bit wasteful, as non-nut jobs know they are not to be trusted, and nutjobs tend not to think of themselves as nutjobs, and aren't interested in being wrong despite evidence. How to make rocket fuel in your kitchen is useful for all *shifty eyes*

Stay the fuck away from the doctrinal commentary for which you have neither the training nor the apparent talent.
Stick to the sciencey stuff, in rebuttal of nutbars or for its own sake.

Both .. I grew to love this channel because of the mixture of the two

Fuck creationists!!! But what's in the mystery box?

Why not chemistry while laughing at creationists?
I can handle a bit of multitasking.
Denamic 10 months ago
Dude, if you did both, I'll be just happy with that.
Shinakumiatsu 10 months ago
How about a bit of each? I mean the WDELAC series is fun, but at the same time I really love the home science stuff that I can do myself and impress my friends with, and usually learn something in the process (I think the Mr G show is awesome for example :)). Then again having more difficult science experiments you shouldn't do at home gives you access to learn more cool stuff you wouldn't hear about otherwise. I'd also like some more stargazing vids, they're really cool. :)

What if you make a separate channel for science stuff?
karstd 10 months ago
Well, when I first started watching your channel a year ago, it was Why Do People Laugh At Creationists, that attracted me (and what I mostly recommended to people since) =) But I really am curious about this experiment, so I think I'd like to see the Heinz baked beans experiment =) The mystery box also attracts curiosity, but definitely the Heinz baked beans experiment!
