  • Andy, the fire! oops wrong PSA.

  • @aramanth Amy the lass in this vid, is a very foolish girl and Jimmy the lad in this vid her brother is an even sillier lad and he dies very a fatal electric shock and ends up very dead.

  • @rojblake82 Well I was being amusing amongst the death by electroshock...

As a child I did wander about and I played near train tracks and I did receive a shock when I bumped into the electric fence at the goose farm where I wasn't supposed to be. However that said I was never stupid enough climb a substation pylon!!!

And Amy egging him is a bit like Eve...

"Oh go on Adam, there's a gap down there, a serpent broke in yesterday go on...."

My point is I am addicted to PSAs!

  • @aramanth Amy is a very silly girl, Jimmy should say Amy for goodness sake woman the frisbee has gone itno an electrical substation and if we go in there we will be fatally electrocuted and end up very dead and burnt to toast and is it worth it Amy?. I also am addicted to PSAs myself have you seen the PSA where Alvin Stardust teaches Chloe and Briony how to cross the road safely? Chloe and Briony are tow foolish lasses, who survive luckily for Alvin Stardust telling them right.

  • This piece of music is very sci-fi sounding.

  • TOAST.........

  • @621Kershaw

    Lol

  • @MrOutstep33 Silly lad was Jimmy.

  • @rojblake82

    Yes i know that!

  • @MrOutstep33 Amy is a very silly girl, saying go on get it but Amy is not a killer she is an impulsive lass who was no doubt very upset when Jimmy her brother died.

  • JIMMY

  • @MrOutstep33 Jimmy was a very silly lad, in billions of ways and he lost his life and Amy his sister was no doubt traumatised poor lass.

  • @rojblake82

I'm thinking more Timmy from south park!

So this tv advert was based on a true story then?

  • @MrOutstep33 What is South Park please?. In this advert Amy and Jimmy are basically playing frisby near an electrical substation and they lose their frisby in the substation and Amy says go on get it. Jimmy is foolish, enough to enter the substation and get fatally electrocuted.

  • @rojblake82

Yes i can see that going on!

Type up south park and you will know!

  • @MrOutstep33 TIMMYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • @TheHasaanM

Lol... you watched it then (o:

  • @MrOutstep33 Amy AKA Jayne Tottman, has acted in other things she played Jackie Blake in look and read Skyhunter she also did two episodes of the now ended police sreis the bill. In her first episode of the Bill, she played Katy, and in her second and final appearance of the Bill a year later she played Polly and after the two epiosdes of the Bill Jayne Tottman disappeared from acting and has not been seen on television for over twenty two years now.I believe she has quit, acting for good.

  • @MrOutstep33 I would say that Amy AKA Jayne Tottman, has well and truly left the acting profession for good and she probably runs a pub, a florist or even a restaurant who knows where Amy is now?.

  • @rojblake82

    Keep taking the meds!

  • @MrOutstep33 Fiar enough and thank you, for the compliment too.

  • @rojblake82

    Lol (o:

  • @MrOutstep33 Amy is a very foolish girl, in billions of ways would you agree?.

  • JIMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LAVENDERACGIRL Amy certainly when she screams Jimmy, must have been very traumatised poor girl.

  • FAIL.

  • I can't believe I found this bloody damn terrifying thing.

It still makes me uncomfortable decades later - although, in the intervening lifetime, I have never once felt the least bit inclined to enter one of these facilities at any price and, whenever I've seen one, i have ALWAYS - without fail, even if it's only as a passing shadow in the back of my mind - thought of this film.

    So I guess it worked.

  • @DaveBTHunt This PSA with Amy and Jimmy, playing frisby near an electrical substation was trying to get a message across how dangerous substations are.Amy was a foolish girl, who gave Jimmy her brother foolish advice but Jimmy was daft enough to go into the electrical subatation and get a lethal electric shock silly lad.I know if Amy was my sister, and we lost a frisby in an electrical substation and Amy said to me go on get it. I would say Amy, for petes sake woman substations are dangerous.

  • Ah I remember bthis ad, it was part of a longer film called "Play Safe" IIRC, but Amy freaked me out with her "JIIIMMMMYYYYYY!" scream when I was little! lol

  • @DaveDaRave1980 I agree Amy screaming Jimmy, is freaky and I am sure Amy was very cut up and traumatised over Jimmys death.

  • @rojblake82 I'll bet she was traumatised! Poor Amy! I agree with you though, that Amy was not really to blame, think it was just the classic "the little sister thinks her big brother can sort it" syndrome but Jimmy could have just said "No". My little sister used to think I could sort anything out when we were kids, but I would never have broken into a substation when we were young!

  • @DaveDaRave1980 I do admit when I heard the hum of the transformers in substations like the one Jimmy was killed in the sound was scary and eerie. The eerie humming sounded to me like the Cybermens voices, in Dr Who in the sixties Cyberstories and very scary. I do wonder what has become of Amy AKA Jayne Tottman in recent years I would think she is probaby working in a florist, running a pub, running a restaurant, running a hotel, or even working in a bank or a building society who knows.

  • Amy was a foolish girl but Jimmy was an even sillier boy.

  • Saw this on a TV programme when I was little...scared the shit outta me when I saw a ball in one near my Nan's house :'/

  • @AprilCroftAdventurer I saw this on television at the age of 12 or 13, Amy was a very silly girl saying to Jimmy go on get it. Jimmy was daft enough to go into the electrical, substation and get a lethal electric shock and die silly boy Amy screamed in terror and was no doubt cut up about Jimmys death for years after the event.Amy is no murdere just a foolish girl, who does not think and neither does Jimmy silly lad jimmy pays a very high price losing his life for a frisbee not worth it at all.

  • Amy is a foolish girl, but she is not a murderer Jimmy is a silly lad to go into the electrical substation.

  • kids are too fat to get through the railings these days

kids do not play out much anymore either

  • @clazza01 Amy gives her brother Jimmy silly advice saying go on get it, when the frisbee flies into the electric substation and gets lodged on an insulator. Jimmy is daft enough to do what Amy says, and Jimmy ends up dead and fried to toast silly boy.

  • It`s far too dangerous for me, oh you get it.

  • @PunkZeusRock I say if Amy was my sister, I would never have said Amy you get it I would have said Amy the frisbee in an electrical substation and we must leave it where it is Amy and buy another frisbee to replace it. We cannot risk our lives for a frisbee, Amy or for any toy it is not worth it AMy.

  • @PunkZeusRock Amy was a foolish girl, and she gave her brother Jimmy foolish advice but he did nothing to resist it and he ended up dead and fried to toast sillylad.

  • @rojblake82 I wonder what that cow is doing now? . hmmmm? ... Mattesons....

  • @PunkZeusRock It makes you wonder what Amy is doing now she could be running a pub or working in a florist who knows it makes you wonder really.

  • I imagine Amy, AKA Jayne Tottman is well and truly out of acting and doing some other job away from the general public.

  • @PickledPoacher I have seen on youtube the two episodes of the Bill Jayne Tottman was in, she played Katie in the first episode and in her second and final appearance in the Bill she played Polly and after that Jayne Tottman disappeared off the television and is no doubt now perhaps working in a florist or doing any job away from the public eye. I don't think we can find out for definite what Jayne is doing nowadays with herself still let us hope Jayne Tottman is doing well in her life.

  • 0:28 okay, so the frisbe should be on the ground, don't touch anything metal ki-

    0:30 FREAKING. IDIOT.

0:37 i see that you dont know what those red rings are, but if the kid was just a few years older, this should place a spot for 1,000 ways to die.

  • @BEASLAND000 Amy was a foolish girl, in billions of ways saying to Jimmy her brother go on get it. Jimmy should have said, what I would have said no way Amy I am not going into an electrical substation woman it is damn dangerous and we will get a fatal electrci shock it is not worth it Amy we must buy another frisbee Amy.

  • There's a lot of sci-fi fans commenting on this video. The soundtrack does sound as though it could be used in Doctor Who or something like that.

  • @cupcakefairy87 I agree the soundtrack is very sci-fi sounding and could be used, in Doctor Who or any other sci-fi shows like Blake's seven if that if B7 is ever remade.

  • By rights, Amy should be arrested and charged with manslaughter by the police and sent to prison for a very long time.

  • @cupcakefairy87 Why do you think Amy should be arrested and charged, with manslaughter and also sent to prison for a very long time?. I admit Amy is a very silly, girl saying to Jimmy her brother go into the electrical substation and get the frisbee. Amy does not threaten Jimmy with a raygun, a sword, a knife, an axe or even a chainsaw, I would have said Jimmy should have said no Amy I will not go into a substation full of live electrical apparaus woman it is dangerous. We buy another frisbee.

  • ... He touched an insulator.

  • @austin777136 Jimmy was afoolish lad and he lost his, life but he was a fool and should have said to Amy his sister no Amy I will not go into an electrical substation it is downright dangerous woman.

  • Even Chuck Norris wouldn't try to retrieve that frisbee

  • Uh oh, do the right thing and avoid being electrocuted but end up in the hands of a horn-rimmed bespectacled paedo @ 0:53

  • @GNeuman The best thing to do if you lose a frisbee, or any toy in an electrical substation is what I would do leave it and buy another one a simple thing to do and stay alive.

  • I think the filmmaker here knows less about electricity than Jimmy and Amy. Just thinking outside the box here.

  • @oracle2world Amy was a very foolish girl saying to Jimmy, go on get it but Jimmy was an even sillier lad to go into the electrical substation for the frisbee he gets a lethal electric shock and is burnt to toast silly boy. Amy would have had nightmares, about it for a long time afterwards poor girl but Amy is by no means a murderer she does not shoot Jimmy dead with a raygun, behead him with a lightsaber, behead him with a chainsaw or even an axe or even stab him with a sword or a dagger.

  • Whoa here. That frisbee was on an insulator. Some "artistic licence" here.

  • @oracle2world Some people have no sense and no brains, at all this lad Jimmy was a silly lad an dhe got a fatal electric shock. Amy his poor sister who witnessed the event would have been, left traumatised for a long time poor girl.Amy is not to blame really, she gave foolish advice but Jimmy was daft enough to go into an electrical substation and get a fatal electric shock.

  • I worked in a power company, these days people are trying to steal copper.

In one incident, a CCTV operator saw thieves enter a substation, he alerted police and a power company worker nearby.

By the time the company worker arrived, he saw one guy dragging is unconscious friend out of the substation, his trousers were still smoking. Police arrived a little later and took the guy who was on fire to hospital, the other guy wasn't caught.

  • @Diamonddavej It is a wonder he was not killed stupid wally, whoever he was some people are incredibly silly and don't have any real sense at all.

  • @Diamonddavej - electricity does seem to confer some natural defense to discourage casual thieves. LIke thorns on a rose bush. Well ... maybe more like a rose bush packing a 9 mm. But I think you get the idea.

  • I would say Jayne Tottman has well and truly, left the acting profession now and she is possibly running a pub, a restaurant, a guest house , a hotel she could be a church minister, a gardener, a retail manager or a librarian or any regular paid job with a regular income. I am naming the little girl, she played in Superman Briony, I am naming the woman she played in the Bill episode Bad Faith Kate and I am naming the sudent she played in her second and final episode of the Bill Chloe.

  • comment to RojBlake82, only Mother Earth could create & distribute those kind of voltages, 66,000,000 AKA 66 MV (MegaVolts), somehow i doubt even the largest storm cloud could produce 66,000,000,000 or 66,000,000,000,000 (i would be really amazed if a storm cloud could produce such a huge amount of Voltage).

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if there could ever be 66,000,000 volts 66,000,000,000 volts or even 66,000,000,000,000 volts and if there was it would be even more lethal than thousands of volts.

  • I have heard that Amy aka Jayne Tottman was in a superman film, credited as the little girl but not named in that film which is weird. I am naming the little girl, Briony, I am certain that Jayne Tottman is well and truly out of the acting profession and is probably running a pub, running a restaurant, running a hotel or she could even be a makeup beautician who knows?.Anythng is possible when child actors and actress, leave the acting profession they ten to vanish off the face of the earth.

  • The ending should have had his mother giving his little coat to a jumble sale.

  • @willpurry Oh that's so harsh! :D

  • @csdaveuk I agree Jimmys death in the electrical substation was not funny, and Amy his poor sister would have been traumatised for a very long time aftrewards.

  • I think chucknorris687 is horrible saying Amy threw the frisbee into the electrical substation nobody saw who threw it.

  • Amy is a foolish girl but her brother Jimmy is an even sillier boy, he goes into aan electrical substation to retrieve a frisbee and gets a lethal electric shock. Amy is not a murderer like homerball667 says, she is a foolish girl who gives foolish advice to Jimmy but he does not to resist it silly lad and he loses his life and AMy would be very traumatised for a very long time afterwards poor girl.

  • So why does he explode when he touches an insulator?

  • @kargaroc386 the differance of potential between a few bells up on an insulator and ground can kill you.

  • @GASmotorsports I say Jimmy was a foolish lad his sister Amy who witnesses Jimmy fatally electrocuted, and she would have been traumatised for a very long time after seeing Jimmy fatally electrocuted by lethal electricity.

  • @kargaroc386 I believe the insulator was guarded by trip mines.

  • @ZeldaDD Highly likely what you have said, about the insulator been guarded by trip mines Jimmy got a fatal electric shock and Amy his sister witnessed Jimmy's death and squealed in horror poor girl and Amy would have to live with Jimmmy's death for a very long time.

  • @rojblake82 Are you trying to make me feel guilty for saying that? I honestly find most PSA type videos like this extremely corny.

  • @ZeldaDD Not at all, I think what you said about trip mines is a high possibility, and it reminds me of mines used in science fiction shows like Blake's seven, Doctor Who and some other sci-fi shows were mines were used.Do you in your opinion if any think, Amy is evil and she was like Eve tempting Jimmy who was Adam into the electrocal substations to his death?. Some comments have said Amy is evil, and she is the devil what if anything is your view on that scenario?. Amy is foolish, and unwise.

  • @rojblake82 Haha, well I don't think she's meant to be the devil or some such thing, but she is being pretty dumb here and kinda pressured her brother into getting up there with the transformer.

  • @ZeldaDD I agree Amy was really dumb like you said, and Amy gave Jimmy her brother foolish advice and Jimmy ends up dead and burnt to toast. Amy would have to live, with the death of her brother and she would end up with another frisbee and hopefully Amy would stay away from electrical substattions in the future. Would you say Amy, should have suggested to Jimmy, to leave the frisbee in the substation and buy another one which is what is would have said to Amy if Amy was my sister.

  • @ZeldaDD I wonder if Amy AKA JayneTottman, is still alive but now doing a job like working in a florist, a bank a building society or even in a guest house?.

  • @kargaroc386 - The filmmakers know less about electricity than Jimmy.

  • @kargaroc386 I imagine because he got close to the insulator, and was therefore earth so the current jumped across and killed him Amy his sister witnessed the event and screamed in horror.

  • continued from previous

Unfortunately I have seen far too many people (children and fellow workers) suffer both the above in incidents over the years and having to do all the analysis of how/what happened – roll on retirement!

n.b. For those of you with an electrical background – I am aware the figures above are incorrect due to the way three phase is measured – but it serves to illustrate the effect.

  • @kargaroc386 continued -2

If your skin is particularly dry, then at low voltages it punches through the skin through the conductive lower layers of tissue and then exits – it looks like two small puncture wounds – but actually is very serious because your insides have cooked. At the high voltages however the resulting current is so high that the internal tissue/organs are boiled/fried to vapour – very high heat and expansion which causes the body to explode/burst.

  • continued 1

There are two possibilities, both of which occur in practice:

If your skin/clothing is damp or somewhat conductive, then the current flashes over the skin only about ¼ inch deep, this instantly dries and ignites the skin much more intensely than say pouring petrol and igniting – the result is a very high temperature burn, but initially not death – the individual usually survives for anything up to a month but dies as a result of the pain, burns, and physical shock to the system.

  • @BlondeBimboMob What you are saying about survival is tosh people do not survive lethal electrical shocks. They are not superman, and they cannot put force fields around their bodies no way man.

  • @kargaroc386

Quite simply due to the heat.

If it is 66kV, and there are say 10 elements in the insulator stack, each element will have about 6.6kV across it, If he touches or even approaches too closely the second one as in this film, then he will have around 13.2kV over his body, however this would earth the insulator stack, leaving only 8 insulators to support the 66kV – this would be insufficient so the insulators would flashover putting the full 66kV over the Boy.

  • @BlondeBimboMob The lad could no way survive the voltage that went through him, and imagine if 66.ooo, ooo 66,ooo,ooo,ooo or even 66,ooo,ooo,ooo volts even arced into the lad he would be very dead like he was with the 66kv that went into his body and he would end up vaporised to dust and asha.

  • @kargaroc386 Its called arcing.

  • @2012GST Arcing electricity is dangerous if it its you then, you are a gonner.

  • Why has the clergyman gone into an electrical substation to retrieve a football?

    These church folk are nutty!

  • @loftgroov I think it is pure fortune, that the chap looking like a clergyman was around to get the lad Colins football back for him. I am naming the workman Malcolm, I hope Malcolm is telling Colin to play safe. It is a shame Amy witnessed her brother, Jimmy fatally electrocuted when he enterd the substation to get the frisbee back but Jimmy was a silly lad to go into the substation. Amy his sister was a foolish girl, but she is not responsible for Jimmys death by lethal electricity in any way

  • Many bricks were shat in Britain from the 70's to the 90's.

  • I am pleased I saw this psa thirty years ago, I learnt much from it.

  • ...He exploded.

  • @lukeguy97 I know that mister silly boy Jimmy, was to go into an electrical substation to retrieve Amys frisbee. He should have left the damn thing where it was and bought another one silly boy.

  • I think that Amy was a very silly girl, but her brother Jimmy was a very silly boy he did not think before going into an electrical substation silly boy he gets a lethal electric shock and ends up dead and burnt to toast.

  • There is a high possibility, Jayne Tottman aka Amy in this vid, has more than likely left the acting profession for good and now does a totally different job altogether away from acting I don,t blaame her.

  • How silly is Jimmy going into an electrical substation to get back the frisbee, even though Amy said go on get it Jimmy was daft enough to go into the substation and get a lethal electric shock silly boy . It was Jimmys responsibility to say no Amy I am not going into any electrical substation to get a frisbee or any toy. I know if Amy was my sister, and our frisbee went into an electrical substation and Amy said to me go on get it I would say Amy don't be so silly woman it is a dangerous place

  • Nice advert for Wham-o frisbees!

  • @LeeJTurnock I say do not throw frisbees into electrical substations like Amy and Jimmy, did silly Jimmy went into the substation and got a fatal electric shock which not only killed him but also frazzled hm silly boy.

  • If I were Jimmy, this wouldn't have happened. Because I'm pro at frisbee.

  • @NuWave12 I think Jimmy was a silly boy going into an electrical substation, and even though his sister Amy gave him silly advice the silly lad went into the substation and was fatally electrocuted silly lad. I know if Amy was my sister, and we lost a frisbee, in an electrical substation and Amy said to me go on get it I would simply say Amy we are not supposed to go in there and it is an electrical substation full of dangerous live electrical apparatus. If we go in there we could get a shock

  • I would imagine Jayne Tottman, who plays Amy in this vid is more than likely doing a job away from the acting profession she is possibly running a pub, running a restaurant , working in a bank, a building society or even working in an offfice. I would not blame her for doing jobs like these which I have mentioned she like many child actors and actresses would have got well out of the acting profession and would take a more regular occupation in life with a regular income which is regular.

  • How silly is Amy but her brother, Jimmy is even sillier going into the electrical substation in the first place to retrieve a frisbee silly boy. If Amy and I were siblings and we lost a frisbee, in an electrical substation and Amy said to me go on get it I would say no Amy we must not go into electrical substations. I would also say to Amy if we go into substations we will end up fatally electrocuted and burnt to toast . It is not worth it Amy losing, for a frisbee or any toy whatsoever.

  • I would say that Amy when she witnessed her brother, Jimmy fatally electroceuted and burnt to death by high electricity she would have been in a state of shock and very traumatised for a very long time after the event she would not have got over it very easily. I would hope Amy did not become a druggie, a binge drinker or even end up topping herself after her brother Jimmy's death. Amy would need to have a lot of help, to recover from the event of seeing Jimmy fatally electrocuted .

  • I am naming the lad been given the football Colin and I am naming the workman giving Colin the ball back Malcolm, I hope Colin is been told off severely by Malcolm and that Colin will learn his lesson. I also hope Colin does nothing as foolish as that again, Jimmy did not live to tell the tale Colin has lived by not going into the substation like Jimmy did.I know if Amy the sister of Jimmy, was my sister and our frisbee went into an electrical substation and Amy said go on get. I would say no.

  • I wish I knew the name of the actor playing Amy's brother Jimmy in this ad. He looks like the lad who was John in Worzel Gummidge but I am not one hundred percent sure.Jayne Tottman plays Amy she seems to have left the acting profession altogether, the programme I vividly remember seeing Jayne Tottman in was a look and Read called Skyhunter she played Jackie Blake apart from that I have not seen Jayne Tottman acting in anything else really .I guess she has left the acting business now.

  • "JIMMY!"

Oh shut up girl, you should have thought of that BEFORE encouraging him to go get the frisbee.

  • @neoYTPism The girl is Amy she is silly, but Jimmy is foolish enough to into the substattion to get the frisbee. Amy is squealing in horror because her brother Jimmy has, been killed by high voltage electricity. Jimmy should have said no Amy we must not go into substations because they are full of dangerous live elecrtical apparatus. Amy is not a murderer, she is a silly girl who gives Jimmy foolish advice and Jimmy does not resist it. He does not say no Amy, I am not going in there silly boy

  • Fine, but if you are going to blame him for not resisting the foolish advice, you should blame her as well for giving it in the first place @rojblake82

  • @neoYTPism I say the blame is equal Amy for giving daft advice in the first place to go into an electrical substation full, of dangerous live electrical apparatus, But Amy is not threatening Jimmy with a raygun, a lightsaber or even or knife. Jimmy can say no Amy and tell her to leave the frisbee and buy another one. That is what I would do if Amy was my sister, and our frisbee went into a substation if Amy said to me go on get it. I would say Amy we must not go in there woman, it is dangerous

  • Probably not QUITE equal... he acknowledged they were not supposed to be there, and she was the one who persuaded him to do so anyway... but yeah, they are both at fault. @rojblake82

  • @neoYTPism I would also be inclined to say Amy was a very foolish girl, it is more a pity Jimmy did not tell her more firmly that they must not go into electrical substations but there you are Jimmy went into the substation and was fatally electrocuted and Amy screams in horror. I really don't know how Amy would have come to terms with her brother Jimmy's death.I hope she did not commit suicide or become an alcoholic,it is hard to know really what would ave happened to Amy after the incident

  • Hopefully she became a spokesperson for electrical safety @rojblake82

  • @neoYTPism I think it is possible what you said about Amy hopefully becoming a spokesperson, for electrical safety there is a thought .

  • I say stay out of electrical substations at all costs, aand avoid them like the plague don't go near them or even in them they are bloody dangerous places to be near or in if you are not authorized to go into them stay away.

  • Never get the toys yourself. Risk your parents life to get it.

  • Substations are one place to avoid like the plague and not go in or near, at anytime at all. It is wise to keep well awy from substations at all times, and not ever go in them if toys go in the substation leave them and buy another toy to replace the toy that is lost in a substation. Never try to get toys back yourself or you won't live to play with them again. It is not worth losing your life for a toy, that gets lost in an electrical substation full of dangerous live electrical apparatus.

  • I certainly think Jayne Tottman is in a more regular job and earning a regular wage. I would also say it is hard to know what Jayne Tottman looks like as and adult. I also like Jayne's role of Amy in this ad she is a pretty girl who I could kiss repeatedly and sweep off her feet. I could see Jayne Tottman in a prom dress and a tiara, would she would look nice in. I also think for many child actors getting out of the, business is the best thing for them.

  • I would think Jayne Tottman who plays Amy in this, ad has got a more substatntial job by now with a more regular income. Jayne has also probably got a husband and children, Jyne could be running a pub or running a restaurant or working in a Library. We cannot know what Jayne Tottman is doing nowadays, still she plays Amy really well and is good in the part. Jayne was good, in skyhunter for look and read as Jackie Blake. I would say most child actors male and female, get out of the profession.

  • Comment removed

  • Mark is now an osteopath (one who treats patients with joint or muscle pain) in . He and his wife, Jane, live in a three-story Georgian house with their two children. I dont suspect that Jayne Tottman is an osteopath but if she was, she may well have received thanks for putting SJP's bones back in order

  • @ rojblake82 Mark Lester was born in Oxford and I know from experience that this county contains many substations, some I may have actually played in myself as a young boy. From memory, I don't ever recall seeing Mark Lester out in the streets or indeed next to any substations. This may be because he lives in Cheltenham, England and you can not see people in Cheltenham from my house.

  • @PickledPoacher I think it is utterly impossible to find out for certain , what Jayne Tottman is doing with herself these days. I would have genuinely thought she has left the acting profession, and posibly works as Librarian I can picture Jayne Tottman in that line of work. Jayne could be as a possibility a Landylady of a pub, she could be a car mechanic as another possibility. I have noticed many child actors and child actress get out of the profession, like Mark Lester has done best thing.

  • cont... I noted that she was also in the recent movie Sex in the City 2, well she was given special thanks at least. We cannot be certain why the film makers were thanking her but, it could be she is still in and around the acting community, rather than being in a dry cleaners.

  • cont...There aren’t any substations in the Superman Movies sadly. However, my exhaustive research has uncovered that Jayne Tottman may well still be acting since it is clear the throughout the 80’s she was a regular in the TV series the square leopard in the 1980’s alongside other greats such as Janet Key.

  • @rojblake82 I was at the very begining of this thread inclinded to agree that Jayne Tottman had most likely left the world of acting but, now I am not so sure. Superman is possibly the only film I remember Susanna York starring in and remains Marlon Brando's greatest cinematic conquest. The theme of silver is followed in the movie Superman. I am not in love with the movie but, I do rather like the idea of a Superman and suspect he would survive a hit of 66,000volts, unlike Jimmy

  • @PickledPoacher In view of what you have said, I can find no info that is really that up to date on Jayne Tottman at all.I am very inclined to think Jayne is no longer acting in at all, I have read she did two episodes of the Bill . I don't particularly remember them but I think in view of what you have said about Jayne Tottman being in a movie Sex in the City. Jayne cannot be in regular acting work, I would have thought she would have got out of acting like Mark Lester has done for certain

  • I was not subjected to any events reminiscent of 1970's UK innuendo based soft porn. There were no sets of underwear hanging from the washing line to give me the all clear. If it was an episode of On the Buses, it would have been one in which the only 2 people on screen were Olive and Blakey

  • @suzyraygun Square Leopard would have been on the telly at about the same time my father used to arrive from work and proceed to take control of the remote control, making us watch the news or some other arduous programme, before promptly falling asleep. Once snoring had ensued, we used to take it in turns to attempt to free the remote from the grasp of my sleeping father, to try to turn the channel over without waking him. Sadly, we often failed. I was a lodger one, but disappointingly..

  • @Pickledpoacher I'm also keen to see the Square Leopard, from what you say it sounds very much my cup of tea. Anything involving awkwardness & lodgers is funny. My parents had a lodger & I loved making him feel awkward by going from my room to the bathroom just in bra and panties. One time he fell down the stairs as a result & fractured his shoulder. In wonder if Jayne Tottman played similar pranks? If her parents had lodgers she may have done, but we cannot know this. It is pure supposition.

  • I was intrigued to see that she has the same haircut in the film about Superman, that she has in the Substation film were she lures her brother Jimmy to certain death by coercing him to retrieve the Frisbee from a substation and hence dying from 66,000volts. I think if Jayne Tottman has the same haircut today, she will be easier for us to find.

  • @PickledPoacher In view of what you, have said about Jayne Tottman, Amy in this film being in Superman. I cannot honestly say I was aware of that fact myself, I was and am not a fan of superman I just was not into Superman films. The only thing I definitely remember Jayne Tottman in around the time, she played Amy in this ad was in a Look and Read programme called Skyhunter. Jayne played Jackie Blake, and had the same hairstyle she has as Amy in this ad. I suspect Jayne Tottman has left acting

  • @PickledPoacher I naming the little girl Jayne Tottman played in Superman which was not my, cup of tea really Bryony and we now never see Jayne Tottman on television anymore. I suspect Jayne Tottman as well and truly left acting and is now perhaps working in a bank, a building society, running a florist, running a pub, working as a holiday rep or even Jayne Tottman could be a police officer or even be an estate agent.

  • Further, I might go on to say, “You should not have climbed up here in the first place”.Fortunately at this time that the cat was stuck, Kal El to give him his native Krypton name, flew in and saw the cat meowing in the tree. Well he most likely heard it too with his super hearing abilities. Kal El or Superman as we now know him, retrieved the cat and handed the beast back to the waiting hands of Jayne Tottman, whose name in the film Superman, we cannot know.

  • @PickledPoacher I must admit the film Superman never appealed to me, and I don't recall Jayne Tottman been in it I have seen a picture from the film Superamn of Jayne as little girl who is not named for some weird reason. I am naming the little girl Jayne Tottman played in that fim Briony. Briony is a good name and it is a plant name.

  • arms, the cat/ monkey became a full blown cat and realised the peril of its predicament of which, it was unable to free itself and proceeded to attempt to rectify its situation by simply meowing.

If I had been a bird sitting in the tree next to the cat but, far enough away so as not to end up as lunch, I might have said to the cat, “it is no good meowing now, since this will not help you get down from a tree.”

  • @rojblake82 I found this picture of "Amy" AKA Jayne Tottman. Here she is playing the part of a young girl who was misfortunate enough to have a cat that believed for half of its adventure, that it was indeed a monkey. However, having gotten to a height of some smugness, far from the reach of tiny Jayne's (we do not know her name in the movie Superman. In some ironic twist of cinema, she is now a nameless figure, in much the same way Jimmy is for us in real life;

  • @PickledPoacher Although the young girl, Amy AKA Jayne Tottman, played in Superman was not referred to by name in the movie which is very weird I have decided to name the young girl Briony which is a lovely name do you agree?.Briony is not a very overly popular name, but it is a nice name.

  • She was in The Square Lepoard TV show too, after reading the intro I cant wait to watch it..1980 on ITV (HTV) SPURIOUS SITCOM hastened out in the 4.45pm slot about a single mother (JANET KEY) of many kids taking on a lodger (sixties crooner JOHN “CUPBOARD LOVE” LEYTON) who then tries to make out he and she are married in order to fool his visiting long-lost dad (RAYMOND HUNTLEY). As family and lodger can’t stand each other, much unamusing awkwardness ensues.

  • @PickledPoacher I cannot say I remember the Square Leopard myself, being so a long time ago I asked if it was available on dvd at Hmv they said it was'nt. I saw Just William in 1977, but I was one of these people who did not have a video recorder at the time and therefore could not videotape things off television. I cannot actively recall Jayne Tottman in Just William as Angela Gerrard myself. I am very inclined to think Jayne Tottman has given up acting and is likely doing some other job now

  • I have found that Jayne Tottman is very likely still in and around the acting business. I note that she appeared in a number of movies and TV from Just Willam in 1977 where she played the role of Angela Gerrard and Superman in 1978 were she played little girl whose cat Superman Rescues. More recently she was in 2 episodes of the Bill in 1988 and 89. I cannot recall her in the Bill because at this time, I was not watching very much television and so can not report to have seen her

  • @PickledPoacher I think the little girl Jayne Tottman plays in superman in 1978, a film I don't really remember seeing at all because it was not my thing. I have noticed her character in that film is unfortunately nameless I think I would name the little girl she plays in that Melinda. I just am pretty certain Jayne Tottman does not act any longer, and is most likely working in a bank, a building society, an office, running a pub, running a restautrant a car mechanic, running a hotel who knows

  • I have found a good picture of Jayne Tottman from her appearence as the little girl who's cat Superman rescues in the 1978 film "Superman" You can find it on the caped wonder website. I am not sure if there is some coincidental mis-happening which occurs to anyone that works with Jayne Tottman. I need to find out more about her to see if people in her personal life has suffered some form of disability or death

  • @PickledPoacher I have seen this picture of Jayne Tottman, who plays Amy in the 1978 film Superman but it does not trigger any memory to me at all. It is like I have said, I did not like or even really watch te Superman films. I also remember in 1978, I was not one of these people who owned a home video and also I could not videotape Star Maidens which was shown around that time. I also am not familiar with The square Leopard series either, I remember Jayne Tottman in a look and read skyhunter

  • @jonnycowee246 continued....Please do keep us up to date with your progress in searching out Jayne Tottman on facebook. We cannot know that either of the 2 Jaynes on FB are our Amy from this film but, it cannot harm to ask, It is not likely that asking would result in a lethal shock of 66,000volts. Perhaps you can uncover the true identity of Jimmy too? I wish you godspeed

  • ...who can answer questions on a social media forum and be representative of this message. I do think I can be replaced with someone like Justin Beiber if this makes it more appealing. My aim is not to be dominated by Suzyraygun but, to ensure the message of not playing near substations is heard.

  • @jonnycowee246 Because this is such an important lesson, not to die by electocution of 66,000volts in a substation, retrieving frisbees or other toys. I felt that we should restage the event using more contemporary actors in order that this message is conveyed to future generations. I am not sure how many children know of Jimmy woe at being toasted by 66,000volts. Becuase modern sociery and its children are so in touch with celebrity these days, I think it is vital that we have someone......

  • @rojblake82 It is true that we cannot know if Jayne Tottman is leading a life of a retail assistant or otherwise. I seem to have her in some middle management role in my mind and it is possible that she could be among us alreay on facebook. I suspect once you have had an acting career, at least in the first few months, it would be easy to convince someone to offer you a role because they might think they can capitalise on the exposure that this substation film presents

  • @pickledpoacher I think it is a bit weird to suggest to Suzyraygun the idea of acting out the film as you seem to suggest, it is hardly fun that a boy Jimmy gets a lethal shock of 66000 volts through stupid behaviour, so why play it out? The point is to learn from it, i.e. not to go into substations or anywhere near them really except if you are on authorised business and properly trained for example an electrical engineer who knows exactly what he is doing.

  • I have found two people on facebook called Jayne Tottman, and sent messages to both. Whether either one is the person who played the part of Amy the sister of Jimmy in the substation film we cannot know, as yet. If one of them turns out to be the one who played Amy and showed her sibling Jimmy about the gap in the fence leading him to die from a 66000 volt shock then I shall definitely ask her a lot of questions about the film and about her life since making it, including the DR Who idea.

  • I don't imagine it is easy to know what has, happened to Jayne Tottman who plays Amy in this video. Jayne has most likely left acting and possibly, works in a bank, a building society, an office, a shop, an estate agent. Jayne could even be running a pub, now or running a restaurant it would be the most likely scenario that Jayne Tottman is out of acting altogether and in a more substantial job with a more guranteed income. Jayne could have a husband now, and some children we don't know for sure

  • I could wear some electro shook boots and we can try out a reconstruction without the fatality of the real world. I am happy if you want to call me Jimmy for the purpose of this experiment

  • @suzyraygun I like that you buy your hoisery from a store with Harvey in the name. I used to like watching shine on harvey moon on UK gold but I never wore tights whilst I was watching Shine on Harvey Moon. I would be happy if you wore tights while you watch Shine on Harvey Moon, this would make me smile. However, tights and stockings alone would not be enough to convince me to enter a substation to retrieve a frisbee because I dont want to be electrocuted by 66,000volts. Perhaps.....

  • @pickledpoacher That is a very good idea. Incidentally did you know that Harv is short for Harvey? This puts him in the same category as Harvey the invisible rabbit and Katie Price's son Harvey, as well as Harvey Goldsmith the music promoter and Harvey Milk the gay mayor of San Francisco who was assassinated by a man who claimed he was acting under the influence of sugar intoxication because of eating too many Twinkie bars. There is also Harvey Nichols of course where I buy stockings & tights.

  • of old age and not by electrocution. Perhaps somebody like Harry Enfield could play the role of the modern day Harv?

  • I agree after some hours of research into Grabrielle Drake, mostly her ealrier stuff, she would be too old to be a convincingly sprightly field officer. Having spent the afternoon investigating the merits in combination of Amanda Holden and the Black haired woman who owns the Knicker factory in Coronation Street. I think they would both be of beleivable age and of sufficient stature to pull off dominance of men. Harv could have been played by Tom Bosely if he wasnt 83 and dead. Although he died

  • I suspect we might have to change Jayne Tottman from the screenplay if we are to include a pilot episode in which female dominant cops investigate the hole in the fence that allowed Jimmy in to the substation and certain death by 66,000volts. Since Jayne Tottman played Amy in the clip, she would know the identity of the person(s) responsible for the damage to the fence, and the dialogue would therefore, be limited. I suggest we run with the woman with the black hair who owns the knicker factory

  • @pickledpoacher if there was a futuristic Cagney & Lacey with Jayne Trottman & the actress from Coronation Street with dark hair who owns the knicker factory as Cagney & Lacey, & it was set in a futuristic female dominated world, I think that if Lacey used electric shocks to punish her husband Harv it would be fair enough, if it would teach him the danger of going into a substation because the shocks Lacey gave him would hurt but not kill him, the shocks used being f far less than 66000 volts

  • @pickledpoacher the theme of female dominance was already in Cagney and Lacey because in the relationship between Lacey and Harv it was definitely Lacey who was in charge. There was also an episode when Cagney and Lacey were undercover as prostitutes, Lacey wore a very provocative outfit, and at the end she said she would wear that costume home to do something with Harv, what did she have in mind we cannot know that, but it could involve domination/electric shocks as I said that is not known.

  • @pickledpoacher the problem with your idea is Gabrielle Drake is too old to play the part of Cagney or the part of Lacey, she could maybe be some kind of office-based supervisor. Jayne Tottman is now in her 40s so she is still be young enough as the original Cagney & Lacey were in their 40s but there would need to be another actress, perhaps Amanda Holden because she is attractive and the right age. Or perhaps the one with the black hair from Coronation Street, the owner of the knicker factory.

  • @pickledpoacher a future based Cagney and Lacey such as you suggest is a very good idea, especially if Cagney and Lacey were dressed like Gabrielle Drake in UFO and they were police in a futuristic New York suburb of Queens where females are dominant and Cagney and Lacey's job was to keep males in order and especially to keep them out of substations. Cagney's husband who is called Harv would probably have to wear remote controlled electric shock boots and could be made to dance using these boots

  • do highlight the importance of learning to read. I can not be sure if Jimmy, who's name we dont know, could read. I suspect Amy could read, although I can not be sure of this fact. If we could ever tempt Jayne Tottman from her daily life to star in the proposed episode of Dr Who, then we would surely have the evidence to support that she can at least read now. I wonder if Grabrielle and Jayne would be interested in some sort of on screeen patnership. Like a future based Cagney and Lacey

  • It is sad to hear that both Nick and Jimmy have met untimely deaths. It is not a leap for me to assume that our Jimmy in this clip suffered from depression. This could go someway to to explaining his p
