can someone please help me! my fighter fish is fighting for his life! i have absolutly no idea what happened. i changed it's water and condishoned it too. somebody please help me!
who ever thinks this tank is to small--- bettas can live in vary small spaces my bettas live in flower vases and they have been living for 3 months now so this is even better for this betta
@YOVILLE567 if the tank is to high they wont be able to swim up to breathe as easily so think about when your swimming and your out of breath and have to swim up fast or you will drown thats how your fish feels not to be rude i am just stating a fact
@AGPlayhouseStudios no rong, its not too tall but is too small, bettas need room to swim back and forth, as far as hight in the wild there in water 1 to 4 feet deep and most tanks are about a foot to 2 feet tal depending on how ever many gallons it has, so the fish will have no problem getting air but looks like he wont have much room to swim, my betta has a petco bookshelf tank so its 2feet to swim back and forth 1 foot for up and down and 11inches from frunt to back aka 6.6gal that holds 8gal
That tank looks tiny! I saw a larger tank in the pet shop, and the guy who ran it said it was too small for any fish (it was designed for keeping shrimp or snails in.) Also, give him some live plants so he can have somewhere to hide. But yeah, that tank is way too tiny. I've trawled loads of sites, and asked a lot of owners, and they say the minumim is about five gallons (which really isn't that big.)
Good video, however, you missed a few points. Bettas DO need a filter, fish waste contains a lot of ammonia, and that can go into the water and poison it. So if you don't have a filter, have fun cleaning your tank twice EVERY DAY. Also, bettas are tropical fish, meaning they thrive in warm water. You won't need a heater if you can keep your water in between 72 and 80 degrees though. But I'm glad you rescued your betta from a pet store. :)
thats better then a cup but still far too small, if you dont have foom for a 5gal get him a 2.5 or 3 gal
