  • title should be: video of chopper and some dust

  • on 0:18 is that a guy outside the cockpit??

  • @MW2warri0r yeah thats the guy they rescued he jumped on the heli

  • @AndyThaBoss92 No, thats one of the four Royal Marines that strapped themselves to the two Apaches to go back to the fort and rescue L/Cpl Matthew Ford. The Marines and the Co-pilot-gunners got out to search for L/Cpl Ford, and came face to face, literally, with taliban (the grounded pilots also had taliban approaching - sitting ducks). They found him and used a harness to carry him *below* an Apache. He was dead on arrival. To All those involved, and to Mathew Ford, Rest in piece my friend.

  • @MW2warri0r Yes.

  • When I'm 18 I'm joining the royal marines :)

  • Taking look on the chopper wing there is a guy on it

  • fly fly fly, smoke, smoke, smoke, nothing, nothing, nothing

    Sky News

  • that took raw guts to pull that rescue off.

  • That makes me motherfucking proud to be British, those marines put their lives on the line to save another, no man gets left behind.

    RIP L.Cpl. Matthew Ford

  • only the british can think and pull stunt like that in real life, but the only the yank get to do that in hollywood films.

    god save the queen.

  • @willobi still got to have respect for the americans

  • Today I met one of the Marines who was strapped to that Apache... he got some medal for it but can't remember what it was...

  • @kinnane4 Military Cross I think it was mate, the second highest battle honour, the only one higher is the Victoria Cross :)

  • @crouchtrac The hooplah in the press most recently about this incident was referring as to how the 3 marines didn't get MCs (or any medal), but the other guy strapped on (royal engineer) and the 4 apache pilot/gunners carrying them all in did (MCs for the RE and copilot gunners (also flight leads), DFCs (distinguished flying cross) for the pilots).

There were also many others involved and helping who didn't receive medals either too of course, but that's how things work.

  • @crouchtrac What place does the George Cross come?

  • @15niall the George cross is not a military decoration.

  • The Royal Marines are highly trained and skilled; they are the most highly trained marines in the world, but they are struggling and suffering not at the hands of the enemy, but of the Labour government. Brown cut the budget for equipment and helicopters, causing the deaths of a great many British personel. Whilst strapping yourself to an apache is brave, it should not be necessary if they had the right helicopter to get the job done. Labour have always hated our military. Kick them out!

  • how come every youtube clip is pissing and moaning about UK and US comparison...when there both out there shoulder to shoulder fighting together. They would be think ur all pathetic

  • Good point nezomega! It is idle nonsense for those who continually 'argue' as regards US and UK SF comparisons! These two nations have spent so much time cross-training and applying and reapplying tactic' techniques, that they are almost super-glued to oneanother! However, the US SF does have so much more kit'...principally helecopters! I read somewhere that SOFD-D (Delta Force) has more helecopters assigned to it, than those in the entire British military! Thats Superpower status for you!

  • @nezomega USE PWNZORZ UK!!

    jokes...

  • @nezomega because its easy for people to point fingers and compare something they think they know about but don't. All that matters is that we fight hand and hand and when it comes down it it we are all brothers on the battlefield.

  • @nezomega because people like that are total dicks and dont have a clue, stupid kids who play COD and think they know all about the armed forces

  • holy shit...am I seeing this right? Is that a man catching a ride on the wing of the AH-64 from 0:15-0:29? Crazy Cracker!!

  • @whitie1987 there was two of them on it trying to save a fallen marine.

  • they succeed to recover the Marine Corporals body but it was to late he died by his wound back at there base... but still the braves, stupidest and cooles thing to do>>!>!>>!> ^_^

  • I remember seeing this on the news!

Notice the British soldiers sitting on the apache's wings!

They chose to do that so they could extract a fallen man.

  • check the machine gun at the bottom targeting where the pilot looks, thats cool!

  • Marines dont die. They just choose to lie low for a while.

  • fucking fills me full of pride and encourages me more to work hard at my training, got my prmc on 9th june any one else?

  • yer me 2 mate. got mine july 14th

  • The rest of the world needs to shut the fuck up for one video...THESE MARINES are brave! Go MARINES!

  • royal marines will die for each other, there bloody brave incedible people, one even layed down on a grenade to protect his comrades.

  • fucking royal marines! real men!!!

  • wow that guy has big cojones

  • the marines strapped to the side of the apache's pulled names out of a hat to see who would get to ride... theres specially built pods on the side of apaches designed specifically for carrying a single person.

  • actually, it came down to the first four volunteers (the rsm even thought it was a piss take). As for the pods on the side, there aren't any. They sat on the bulging fuel tanks and held on to strops, they balanced by putting there feet on a helfire missile.

  • JESUS CHRIST PEEPS, r u fuckin blind? can't u see the rescued soldier on the side of the apache???????????????????????????????

from 0:07 to 0:30 can be seen clearly, HE'S NOT DEAD...

  • thats them going in donut. the geezer they went for was dead.

  • yer the guy they went 2 rescue was dead, and they thought he was dead before they even left to resuce him, risking there own lives in the process. A true tribute to the bravery and loyalty of the Marines! They flew the dead marine back hanging off of a wire strop below the apatche. He was Lance Corporal Mathew Ford of 45 commando.

  • Tnkx m8, R.I.P. L.Cpl. Matthew Ford. at first i thaught its the rescue Marine on the apache's right wing. I truely respect the Royal Marines, really brave fighters...

  • Looks fake to me.

  • its not, some apache pilots agreed to cart some blokes to retrieve the body of a comrade. it was on BBC news so it must have happened.

  • and the BBC has never lied or been wrong.

  • not in the news they haven't

  • Wasn't fake. This did happen. Unfortunately the soldier they went to rescue had already been killed when they got to him.

  • No killed by the Taliban you thick fuck

  • 'Nasty slovos'....perhaps you should spell check!

    Why gloat about someones death?

Would he have died had it not been for taliban activity?

Would he have been in Afghanistan if not for the taliban?

  • Cock....

  • your always hear dissing marines, i fucking fed up of you and your shit. fuck off and die you nasty cunt. i'd put one in your dome it would be a pleasure.

  • upmost respect 4 our american cousians, but i could not see the yanks doing that without an entire army 4 backup.british armed forces best in the world!.

  • I'm not a soldior.. but that is amazing. Guys strapping themselves to the side of apaches? It makes you proud to be British. We must be one of the few nations on earth with the guts (or is it stupidity?!) to do that?

  • My highest respects to the BRMC who went back to recover a fallen comrade without having to wait for the right air support. Seeing four BRMC's riding the sides of two Apache's says something about the type of soldiers you're with. The type that won't leave you behind no mater what.

  • stop Dripping you beefers. This rescue was carried out to save Fordy unfortunatly when they got he had all ready had the bad news so they recoverd his body. Fordy was a hoofin oppo and is missed

  • It just go's to show you the royal marines can be any were any how any time! the best fighting force in the world! by sea by land (and air ;-)

  • No he's talking about the original marines not the copy

  • Nails Nails Nails

  • posters really ram it up their own asses in the depth and intelligence of their posts.I'd steer well clear of the youtube experts.they are probably the Fat ass Cab driver who picks you up from Super tits apartment who've you've just fucked most of the night, plays to much D@D are 12 yrs old.You may actually have a life, be an operator or be generally interested in watching good footage.if so good for you be original Don't stupid arrogant shit on youtube!!!

  • Brass balls and desperation,as for some other comments they are a complete Crock of shit!ahhh..Fiction is so Fun.have you ever wondered how many people who post are youtube are deranged? and how besides watching the cool videos you would never talk or ask their opionion EVER it would be a blessing if i didn't have to read some..most of this crap comments deleted is a very smart move i vote for it completely,

  • the word hero is brandished around to often these days..but these boys who went back to get there mortally wounded friend are excactly that..HEROES. us navy smavy...royal airforce anyday!

  • why mention the RAF, they are a huge joke, everyone in the armed forces knows that britain has only 2 air organisations of note, the Fleet Air Arm and the Army Air Corps, the crabs come in a dismal 3rd

  • Who the hell cares whose the best!!?? We are all on the same side!!! Thats all that matters..But always Remember...There is no better air force than that of the US NAVY!!

    FLY NAVY <

  • That's right.. airnmorris!!

  • All I can say is...LMFAO.

When I hear the words 'No better than' and 'US...' I just crease up. hahah! Shutup you fool.

  • you can tell yourself that, but the truth is large armies fall to the well trained.... And americans arent that smart, most of your service men are from hick town usa and altough they know how to fight, they dont compare to the well trained elite forces.... and if you tell me wrong look at say the jtf2, when the seals are in hell thats who they call........ I rest my case

  • fucking well said wilkes!!

  • this is the order of who has the best army(not biggest, but rather best at fighting)

    1. Canada

    2. U.K.

    3. U.N.

    4. Asian countries

    5. Iraq and the patriotic army

    6. Afghan forces

    and lastly...

    7. U.S. forces(you have lotsa money and guns, but everyone know americans are the retards of our planet)

  • I second that

  • and who are u to say that, i bet your not even in the forces. and if you are your a prat although there is banter at the end of the day all servicemen have a mutual respect for eachother.

  • and you say canada because you are canadian?

  • the yanks would destroy our military erm haha is that why "delta force" are not allowed to operate in america as their that crap. u americans might have the quantity and firepower but we have the intelligence, skill, training, oh and our quality is better!

  • fuck you jimmybobs you pastey faced brit. the 'yanks' would destroy your military in any situation. the royal marines are just mediocre at best.

  • have u ever been in the military?royal marines are mediocre?who did the navy seals want to support them while they secured the oil pipe lines in um qusar?...the rangers?....101st airborne?....delta force?....usmc?..no they wanted the royal marines with them because they know we dont fuck about and we get the job done

  • hmm, i dont see anything speacial about any of the US military USMC, SEAL, and all the other shit regiments, after all we do train you.

  • Ok, i get you dont like that brits slag of the american military, but honestly, you do have an incredibly high rate of 'friendly' fire; 1 eg.- when the brittish desert rats went into bagdad in the 1st gulf war, they lost 1 tank - to american fire. Your guys are given to many big guns and you and far too trigger happy

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on regimental uniforms through the ages. It includes the Royal Marines and many other regiments.

  • only royal mariens could do that.

the yanks could do something like that but they would probs blast their own chopper out the sky lol.

  • that is real british grit!!!! well done lads and look after yourselves out there.

  • brave men to sit on the side of them, brave, brave men, shows their elite. go on lads kick some terry taliban ass!!

  • thats what you call friendship thats the best thing ive ever seen well done lads

  • Brave guys, only Brits could do that.

  • my bf is a royal marine and i am so proud of him.

  • My brother is a Royal Marine in 42 Commando. It makes me so proud of our forces, and offers some comfort to know that these guys look out for each other, like no other armed force on earth. Thank God we're not americans, or we'd have lost the whole lot.

  • I'm with 45cdo Americans are just as concientious with their own. Don't beleive the stereotype- British soldiers have relied on the US

  • Fair comment chap. I'm sure you are correct (having seen it first hand i'm assuming?!)

  • Thank you... Some sensibility.

  • Fuckin'-A. Too bad about the marine that got left back. A true patriot to the last.

  • Go on lads! The Best!

  • royal marines kick ass

  • Amen. Couldn't of put it better myself.
