Riften is a great city if you are a stormcloak or part of the thieves guild, the only thing I don't like about honeyside home is the mannequins are bugged sometimes.

@PO7NT Actually I think that's only if you tell the people at the council to replace riften guards with imperials, that's the only time they spazzed out when thieves attacked when i played

@willieppp definitely the windhelm house, there's a hidden room, two stories, and tons of weapons and shield racks and display cases and 3 mannequins, but it might have a bug like mine where there's still blood and the weapons plaques can't be used

In my humble opinion, the best house is Vlindrel Hall (Markarth), because you get a decent sized house, with some nice amenities, without having to spend days doing useless quests to get enough gold to buy it. Also, I love Dwemer architecture.

Definitely my favourite house. Loads of room, great view, no bugs. Plus, you can kill the chickens without the town hunting you down, which is more than you can do anywhere else.

Marakarth just sucks.

Solitude is too glitchy.( you always get at least 4 glitches)

Windhelm is really boring. The only colour u see is gray. That the house is glitchy. (you always get at least 2 glitchs in the house)

@Shaadeedaa Sadly Bethesda do not realise that they need to add the feature of selling houses in their games, so no you cannot sell the house in whiterun and I would advise not to get this house anyway, the house is good but the area is horrible; every day a thief attacks or there is a small civil war.......

So i would just like to say you may want to consider the Markarth house (for about the same price)

Not only that, the back door leads out into the main world, so I don't have to sit through as many loading screens. Finally, the area is teeming with animals to kill/grind. Leading 3 or 4 bears up to the gates and letting the guards fight them is fun to watch. So the area really isn't all that bad, In my Opinion.

@GoldenEclypse in every house you have a room like that when you do enough quests in a city the jarl will make you a Thane and give you a Housecarl (companion) who will live in that room and you dont have to buy it.
