While I approve of the atmosphere being at bit more relaxed at shows like these compared to your regular classical music concerts, the clapping just doesn't work, neither during solo sections (since they are often in free time) nor full blast symphony orchestra (dependent on the conductor and on the fact that everyone's following him/her, and not some external beat). Apart from screwing up the rhythm it also totally borks the acoustics. Awesome performance though, would have loved to see it. :)
@Dadelhead ya i wondered if it would throw him off. i'm the one to blame (i love it heh) i started clapping (both times) and everyone followed suit, but i just wanted to jam with him. he looked like he liked it until some of the kids started getting off time then it looked difficult. anyway something to remember the show by at least
