  • good good

    I need this......

  • APPLE IS BEST LOL THE METRO UI SUCKS

  • @aniketroxx

    you're brainwashed...

  • @MrDemon1994 Every one who loves apple is brain washed

  • GARBAGE

  • I think the phone looks cool. I am a great fan of windows 7, Vista always worked fine for me, and XP was good. Media Centre is my favourite thing of all time.

I may get this phone but here's the reason i don't feel comfortable about it.

Because steve balmer keeps shouting at me :( He always shouts aggressively about the product and makes me feel afraid to associate myself with anything he's selling.

Steve jobs comes across more trustworthy, altho i personally don't trust apple.

  • Ugly main interface :p, and still no phone who can beat the iPhone iOS smooth and fast multi-touch. Still a good phone to play with, lets see what happens when a new interface designer and functionality updates come. No IPhone fan boy, I own one and is not the best phone ever, but lets face reality its on the Top 3 best phones created to current date.

  • c'mon microsoft, support to your royal/old friend HTC with having hd2 run wp7! i'm thinking about selling my Hd2 b/c of that. And yes i used to jailbreak my xperia and i really do not like how unstable or slow it is. And it's not covered by warranty. Maybe i got lazy~

  • i hope they will let us join party chat from the phone

  • The Idea was good but they messed it up...they should have made it more like windows 7 on the PC, faster, smoother & better than mobile 6.5 and all they had to do was put a nice interface over it the way HTC does

  • @kagunmmm That was the problem with Windows Phones to begin with, they we're just Windows OS on a Phone...

  • creo ke no responde cuando el vato este trata de jalar unos iconos y lo intenta varias veces!!! ke chafa como con cuanto iran a timar a la gente

  • Any phone running anything Micro$oft related will be problematic at best. This product is doomed before it even hits the shelves. Apple innovates, Micro$oft simply follows and fails.

  • Tell me that 6 months from now when it is on the streats. This UI is so much better than Apple's, rather than having separate apps for everything developers will be able to integrate their experiences into the core phone abilities. Tell me how apple has integrated the cloud into the core experience? Who was the first to release an OS that ran on tablets? Not Apple.

  • 0:54 scary voice

  • i wish i can play mw2 using that phone.

  • The phone was not responding from 2:03 to 2:46

  • looking awesome! can't wait for that...

  • So far, no one's demoed rotate to landscape accelerometer.

  • It may not be in the current build yet. Its not going to be released for more than half a year, you never know.

  • They showed rotating during the livestream, it works.

  • UI looks a a little underdeveloped or cheap!

  • I don't think the UI is underdeveloped/cheap just that the hardware looks poor.

  • They should've just called it the zunephone. It is very Zune HD like, just minor differences. Oh well, I want one.

  • They didn't want to call it the 'ZunePhone', because they didn't want to 'copy' Apple.

Because Apple calls essentially everything i(insert object name here), calling this the 'ZunePhone' would be the biggest cliche possible.

  • Well or something more attractive than "Windows Phone 7" It seems like a mouthful

  • Yeah. I was thinking they'd actually name it too, rather than just make it like a code based on the model and the OS.

But, seriously, more than 6 months till its launch for real, so there is still plenty of time for Microsoft to rename it and update the main screen.

  • well the iphone is not an ipod phone, its a phone with the ipod application.

Just like this Winphone is not a zune, it just has the zune application.

  • I know, I was replying to somebody elses comment.

But, the GUI is based heavily off of what the ZuneHD GUI looks like, so, I can see why people would think that it is a 'Zune Phone'.

But, the iPhone isn't really the same type of animal as this. iPhone still uses the same basic Java based running platform, just with different apps, because you can break an iPod Touch to have all of the iPhone apps.

But, this runs an entirely different OS than Zune (both are still XNA platforms though),

  • haha I laugh when the mac fanboys say it looks like a Iphone look hahaha such idiots it does not even look like an iphone. Windows phone 7 UI looks twice better than Iphone and dont even look like an Iphone. So different. This looks more in demand compare to Iphone boring look of Icons hahaha

  • @Renventox there are about 4 million xbox users LOL so yes good ideal for Windows phone 7 have this. At least it better games than apple iphone games which are just bunch of kiddies games boring.... LOL

  • Why does the guy at 13mins+ yell so loud? i had to turn down my speakers.

  • A) highly competitive

    B)highly dynamic

    C)super exiting

    D) SPARTA!

  • hmm i see a lot of judgement being passed on such an early model of the phone. from the very few things i've seen i'm interested in seeing more. going to reserve my judgement until they show me what else this phone can do in the later conferences

  • Gaming is NOT a fundamentally social experience. I like my single player mode and am not interested AT ALL in on-line scoreboards.

  • gaming is probably the ultimate social experience apart from face to face

  • If you choose it to be! What about Half Life 2? What's social about that game? No multiplayer, no on-line community, no chatboxes, nothing.

I'm not denying it can't be (certainly on mobile phones), but it isn't fundamental.

  • @nicolasmarinus HL2 is a single player, however its engine is being used by a lot of multiplayer games such as counterstrike source, team fortress, garys mod, left 4 dead and HL2 has Steam which is a community of gamers you can chat, talk and view their profiles like myspace. BURNNNN

  • 3rd nail. Where are the applications? The problem is that this UI is a pain for people to launch apps, buty much worse they have not solved the fundamental flaw in their platform. Many screen sizes, aspect ratios, hardware buttons, physical keyboards/sofware keyboards, amounts of ram, processor speeds, gpu. You have to compile and adjust for every single one of these phones and with a tiny install base for each mopdel it is not worth doing.

Great for feature phones, but not a computer platform.

  • @oliinthemorning just like the iphone, its not a computer platform, so I dont know what you're trying to accomplish here. Microsoft is providing the software, their partners such as HTC will provide the specs so there is a chance a physical keyboard will appear. Ive been using WinMo 5, way before iphone came out & it has both physical and software kb. This is a tech demo to give u an idea of what it is. Not the real THING.

  • The big problem with the UI is that it is designed for a much larger screen. The true screen is 3 phone screens across. They seem to have based the UI on the Ipod click wheel interface.

The second nail in the coffin is that this is not a smart phone OS, it is a feature phone OS. It is a Phone with a built in Ipod and integration with facebook. That is all really good that you can easily check what people are up to, but this is not a mini computer, it is fancy feature phone.

  • My winmo 6.5 was so crap i brought it back for a HTC Hero, this video give me faith in Microsoft again.

  • As I'm watching this on my iPhone, I'm impressed! This interface makes my iphone's look so dated it's not even funny. We'll see how this pans out with iPhone 4.0/software

  • does it even have an accelerometer ??? and can you change the Xbox Live tab to PSN ? if it has landscape mode and a decent camera then I'm sure will be a good product.

  • @xReventonx microsoft owns xbox live, i dont think theyll put a companys crap online service.

  • obviously Microsoft made the Xbox, but would kind of suck if they have a tab thats pointless to users who don't own an Xbox.

  • If you have an MSN account, you can log into XBOX live.

  • The hub is the Games Hub, not the Xbox hub. Xbox Live basically means, Multiplayer games for the Phone. Microsoft has actually said that if they wanted to, Sony could create a Playstation Hub if they wanted to for Windows Phone.

  • amazing!

  • WOW! How's that for multi tasking?!

  • I hope you can disable windows live. Home screen needs improvements. Should have been more like the Zune HD.

  • Yay! New ways to stalk people on facebook everywhere! Still, the HD2 does that pretty well already.

  • microsoft needs to step up the speed on their software.

And make them more user friendly and animated.

  • Apple is the one that needs improving (battery and speed). Android just has bad battery.

Not to mind that fact that I thought that 6.5 showed a very finger friendly interface, except for the menus. However, if you are talking about this, I like eye candy, and I am sort of worried about this theme. I would rather use the 6.5 theme instead unless they can improve this or make it more useful...but that is just me. This is only a beta though, so we might as well wait to speculate (HA, that rhymed).

  • yes you are right, but to me the touch screen didnt look to be as good as iphone, droid, nexus one etc.

But personally, im not a fan of windows mobiles, i would rather go with nexus one.

But it guess it depends on your needs

  • tool

  • @undekegamisou Old news.

  • Microsoft finally has it's own phone!!!!..Can't wait for the videos of this phone and a dog fight between this phone and the iphone... Microsoft vs. Apple..

  • it looks just like a zune and works like a zune so it will be like putting zune up against the ipod so it is really no battle at all.

  • @Rav3r916 microsoft has always been in the mobile with Windows Mobile series from WM1 to WM6.5 .. They do not make the hardware, they only provide the OS, so you will see this as a standard on most phones since it wont be exclusive to one carrier like Apple.

  • @Rav3r916 well they did have the kin... which failed miserably BTW.

  • Zune HD Mobile?

  • LOL I'm sure you do, going through each video on youtube and stating "first' such as 12 year olds would do.

  • The Windows marketplace, Internet exploder, Bing?

    No thanks

  • iDiots...

  • is there any full video??

  • I see the phone had a little problem keeping up with the guy's finger. Is this new update for the zune hd available now? I want to know more about in the next few months.

  • dang, soon we wont have a need for a full size laptop.

  • That screen seems very unresponsive.

  • It's a demo device. I'm sure it doesn't represent the final product.

  • It looks like what the Zune HD uses

  • @07liberian Get a life faggot!

  • I got One Bitch.
