  • that smoking room metaphor's stuck with me all day. i talked about it to people, thought about it.

the poor guy getting trampled by the walmart x mas rush! man, you have some kinda genius for apt encapsulation of what's wrong with america. i took a vow of stop shopping years ago. i buy food and video tape, that's it. lol!

i've seen a kind of clamp you can use to solidly affix a cam to bike handles, might work better than your draconian headpiece. it's impressive anyway, but risky looking :o)

  • Hey Stephen, I got an email about this video even though I've already received an email about it a couple of days ago. Anyway, I have to say that you're so darn cute at the end of this piece as you show off your helmetcam. LOL

  • I took it out to try this morning - it was hard to balance, wobbles a lot. we'll see how the footage holds up....

  • I just read your comment regarding the camera....I should've read it before posting my previous comment, sorry! :)

  • oh it's okay. you're right a smaller camera would make more sense. I'm a little embarrassed about going outside with it, lol.

  • It's great you have a helmet cam, now we can watch some other awesome footage!

btw, why not using a small HD handycam on the helmet? Is this a special cam in a way? more professional maybe?...would be much lighter and easier!

  • hahaha love the helmet cam, but really thats probably not the best idea...

like someone said, your chin strap is probably going to break - your on a bike so you going to be turning your head a lot...

i think instead of thinking of the camera as obsolete - its better than it getting smashed or you having an accident.

  • you know... not to be a doucher or anything... I can see you've put a lot of work into the head cam and all but you can probably get a pretty good camera that would fit into a pair of glasses. You could probably buy one already made off one of those geeky spy websites. Just trying to help.

  • it's true. my brother suggested a flip cam, which is much smaller and it's even in HD, which this camera is not. BUT, this camera shoots in 24p, which is a special feature that most cameras dont have. besides, this camera cost me a small fortune when i bought it more than 5 years ago, and I would hate to think it's obsolete. So i'm trying to pinch every last use I can out of it. If this doesnt work, I may buy a flip cam.

  • you should glue that thing to your helmet

  • You might want to reinforce the chin strap on that helmet.

  • amazing camera thing. love it.

  • i really like your photos :)

i have a friend that tried to tape his tripod to the end of his bike, it didn't end up well; so i hope the helmet idea works!

  • thanks! did your friend have his tripod extended ? how did he attach it? did he manage to shoot something before it malfunctioned?

  • I just wouldn't be Black Friday without White Trash.

  • Can't wait for the bike videos! Amazing idea. I did something similar on my car, but I don't have an actual camera :|

  • i hope to take it out tomorrow morning. what did you use if not a camera?

  • Well, it was a camera but a webcam hooked onto my laptop :|

Oh BTW, I used your Copenhagen video to better state my argument in a blogging exercise I had to do for school. I know at least one kid who changed his mind about the importance of biosphere sustainability. +ve change of mind.

  • wow, nice! i'm glad.
