  • More michael ! amazing show.. thank you guys for introducing Algerian culture. :-)

  • "Ya Rayah" (Arabic: يا الرايح Yâ ar-râyiḥ) is an Algerian "chaabi" song composed and performed in the 1970s by Dahmane El Harrachi (Amrani Abderrahmane). Up until the past 15 years this song was known to be Dahman El Harrachi's original song and in the Chaabi/Andalous tradition of Algiers. This song is a ballad of the traveler, the exiled, the longing to come back, the immigrant, the "wanderin' star", etc. hence it's universal appeal.

    algeria

  • her dancing is awesome just like the song is.

  • Guys, Check my piano cover of ya rayah !!!

  • If you are going post this video, be at least honest about the origine of the song which is a Million /100 Algerian. Drole de gens.

  • i think they wrote Oriental because they must be from the New continent.... anything from the East can be considerate Oriental, besides the deeper roots of the music are believed to be from the oriental side of the Mediterranean.

  • I like the way she dances!

  • Thanks! The performance wa in Switzerland.

    best wishes Michael

  • Wonderful group! And one of the loveliest dancers I've seen in a very long time. Where in Morocco was this performance?

  • well.. from what little i know, the word 'orient' was used in classical times to signify the middle east, not sure about north africa - the word 'orient' now has come to mean asia - but i believe middle eastern music is still referred to as 'oriental music' but many scholars... just not by the populus???

  • it's an algerian song , not oriental =)

  • The musical interpretation is very good but for the chant ... Niaaah I prefer Damane El Harrachi ! :P

  • Isn't she beautiful.....!

  • Esta cultura y su musica ha tenido una influencia particular en mi, me transporta me tranquiliza, me hace ver las todas y la vida desde otra perspectivaM es preciosa y me encanta

  • @doubby31 stupid.... in terms of science and inventions everybody wish to be a westerner...watch your words...

  • @RanaLabass go get loss u stupid morrocan or whoever u are rai was invented in algeria also cha3bi music. we history more than u people are. any way we are not famous because we dont kiss westerners asses like u people do

  • @doubby31 I am Algerian... I don't hate you brother...all I am saying is be proud of what you are or who you are as an Algerian. But not everybody wants to be an Algerian. Just respect other nations and cultures. And don't tell them how great you are....let them tell you how good you are.... no malice intended....good luck.
