Gene was re-hashing a lot of his song fr Lick it up - Hot in the shade. Too busy being Mr Hollywood,Record Mogul & hanging out w/Hugh Hefner. Hell, he even had a limo on call 24 hrs. Access to excess. Kiss fr 83 - 89 was Paul Stanley's band.
@robzombys1 10X better -- problem with "Animalize" is he was making a movie at the same time, "Runaway" and the quality of songs really suffered in my opinion, the "Asylum" songs were a noticeable improvement.
@Blacksong74 in retrospect it was pretty dumb, KISS could've been so much bigger if Gene had been fully engaged in the band during the mid 80's. He was spreading himself too thin with too many projects.
ive loved KISS SINCE THE BEGINING,, but this album kicked some 80S ASS.... and still is great for driving to and watching peoples faces in traffic,, gonna live it till the rivers run dry...... to qoute a great band...
Unbelievable that there's someone here saying this song sounds like "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin....that's just flat out MORONIC, the two songs couldn't be more different actually. Now, you could say that this song is slightly generic and possibly even that Gene ripped off some of his previous melodies off Animalize and Lick It Up.
@explorations don't say Gene ripped off Animalize and Lick it Up just say reused the melodies because if was from someone elses album then call it ripped off but Gene just reused it
@DirtyLittlePsycho Only problem is you can't prove it, you just go by ear. In my opinion it sounds nothing like "Black Dog", which is their most overrated song.
@vfgjhj the only thing that's different in that song is the lyrics and the notes... the riff and melody is exactly the same.. just like whitesnake "still of the night" is a rip-off of zeppelin's "black dog".
@DirtyLittlePsycho What a stupid thing to compare still of the night with black dog! You really don't know anything about music so don't bring stupid comments here!! It´s true that trial by fire can't be the best kiss song ever, not even the 80's but the songs you mention have got nothing in common you dumbass!!!
@Prussian85 stupid thing 2 compare? ur a dumbass. it's the same fucking song! ne real fan of Whitesnake or Led Zeppelin could tell u that. don't call me a dumbass, dumbass. that's 1 of the most common song rip-offs of all time.
@Prussian85 hahahahahaha your ignorance in musical topics really make me laugh. Have you ever played a musical instrument??? I think not, so where the hell you come up with these meaningless and nonsense comments??? Don't be ridiculous!!! If you have no solid arguments or qualified criteria for music do not argue!!! You're still an ignorant piece of dumbass hahahahahahaha!!
Bruce Kulick's first Album with KISS. I hate that album cover!! and I agree with TBF being the best song on the album along with "King Of The Mountain"
I saw the Asylum tour when KISS came to the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. This was their first stop their in 6 years (Dynasty, June 1979). They played this after opening with Detroit Rock City. Black 'n Blue opened. Tommy Thayer was in that band. Who knew then...?
eric only sang twice on a kiss album. little caesar from hot in the shade and a cover of beth from smashes thrashes and hits. he sometimes would sing young and wasted live and of course he sang black diamond and all the other songs that peter used to sing
Probably my favourite song from Asylum.

Radar For Love is the best song on this album, it is heavy and hard all wrapped into one ball.

@vfgjhj it's also a rip-off of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog"...
