  • @jwickert3 I dont believe so.

  • I just remember hearing over the corner net "Green flag!" second later "ALERT ALERT!". The race was promptly red flag as there was a significant amount of track blockage, along with a damaged cable in the safety wall. Not to mention this was a split start race, that had STO/ST not even 1/3 around the track behind the start.

  • Not that i should be adding to the fire but really. unless you were in the same situation feeling the same nerves at the start of the race how do you know how you would react? its pretty easy to call the "viper guy" a idiot when your at home watching it on the computer. bottom line accidents happen. Its club racing for a reason. No reason to Tear someone down over it. it was one of the more unfortunate things to happen that year at the runoffs though! ~Andy Wolverton T2 GXP

  • @SLOWCHILL well said Andy. ppl on youtube think that drving thier street car is just like driving a race car, and they can't even drive their 93 hatchback.

    ~Timothy SCCA Corner worker

  • @T018 Actually, my street car is my race car :) What region are you in?

  • @CRXSI1987 St Louis, sadly, our track closed....

  • @T018 which track was that?

  • @CRXSI1987 Gateway Intl

  • @T018 when did they close that?

  • Well now, a simple POST stating that Heinricy's trans blew would have cleared up a bunch wouldn't it ? Heinricy is the only guy out of a few thousand that ever ran a quicker lap time then myself at the GM Proving Grounds challange course in Mesa Arizona. I am familiar with him.

Going soley by what the camera shows, the Viper appears to be the blame.

  • Bleth, Are you kidding me ? A BLIND man can see the clown in the Viper needs to be Spanked out behind the woodshed ! What an idiot !

  • @the4xchamp Actually if you knew your stuff, you would know that the trans in the white vette blew, so the viper driver didn't have much choice anyway with such a cramped section of track. He could either stuff the back of Heinricy's Vette and cause a wreck right there or at least attempt to go around which gives him and several others a 50-50 chance, but obviously he ended up on the wrong 50%.

  • The dude in the Viper is a freakin' IDIOT ! Typical SCCA racer wannabees ! No talent, too much money, huge egos. Maybe he'll have some wine and cheese while his daddy goes and gets him another car ! Jerk !

  • it's funny how men still drive like children.

  • Gee, let's just turn right forgetting that there are other competitors on the track with you! Red mist big time for this driver... duh!

  • Damn, you got lucky way to thread the needle

  • the guy in the white vette that had the mechanical failure is none other than John Heinriecy. he is an 11 x national champ (most of active drivers) in various classes. he is a legend in his own time and former head of corvette development, if i'm not mistaken. i'm sure david mcneil (the driver of the camera car) would ask him for advice if he'd give it. unfortunate, but that's racing. the rest is a stack up.

  • sweet

  • Bummer that's expensive not to mension a horrible end to the runoffs for those guys

  • The guy in the white vette is a 5 time National T1 Champ. He also is in the top five in National Championship. Don't think he needs any help.

  • @RSIG Doesn't matter how good you are you will always need help point blank.

  • @RSIG 7 time champ in T1

  • The guy in the white vet and the viper need some driving lessons by the Ferarri that took this video...

  • @Bleth51 The white vette blew his tranny up at the start.... the viper should have hit the brakes rather than assume nobody is to his right on a green flag start.... usually there is a car there lol

  • @chris04ex and go where? this isn't 25 mph city driving. wall left, car right, hit the grass hit the wall. split second decision. try to split the cars. i'm sure after all the crying the drivers wouldn't blame anyone. or shouldn't. that's called sportsmanship. and that's a racing incident. if you can't handle it play playstation.

  • @Bleth51 You don't know what or who you're talking about.
