As much as I loved his performance as Sandy, it reminded me of how utterly frightening it would be to actually have a friend like him. The "I just sharted" scene had me crying so hard with laughter that I came close to peeing my pants. I can't imagine covering for a guy like him in a very formal social setting. Hoffman is a treasure.

hoffman stole the show. he had a jack black-esque performance in this one, wild and outrageous, only not as overbearing and a lot less annoying. good performances all around, especially by the secondary characters (psh, alec baldwin, bryan brown and hank azaria)

You forgot to add the part right before he gets up to stretch when it shows the movie poster of crocodile tears w/ the simple minds don't you forget about me blasting and the camera slowly pans down to him sprawling in his chair with the shorts that have the hole in it. hahaha. Did anyone else ever notice that? It wasn't very big but I noticed it the first time I watched it.
