  • Just out of curiosity, if you studied this Rosetta Stone continuously for a long time, could you speak at the B1 (intermediate) level?

  • how do you no what the picture means it looks like it can mean a lot of things?

  • Does anyone know how to get Rosseta stone on Mac. My company pays for it but it can't be run on my MAC its brand new with Lion OSX but it says it can't be run on DOS mode why? and how do I fix hit.

  • What software do people use to record a program, both the audio and visual, straight from their computer like this user did?

  • For people saying things sound the same we do this in English all the time. For example: To, too, two. Share, chair. their, there, they're, know, no. face, phase. Eye, I. This is all third grade stuff people, no language is perfect certainly not/knot/naught English.

  • awesome

  • Rosatta stone Is a good webside but I hate it because I have to doing with sister every two time a week at school after lunch and I want to do read and not rosatta stone and sometime we play game but I have to so Rosetta stone

  • Young and Yellow confuse me

  • @him3zz Young and yellow are pronounced the same but they are spelled differently

    Yellow - jaune

    young- jeune

  • @Skate4Ever10

That's like saying "look" and "lock" are pronounced the same.

  • @Skate4Ever10 IMHO: "jaune" and "jeune" are not pronounced the same. I don't know how to say it for english speaking people, but for german speaking people I would say "jaune"="schoon' " and "jeune"="schön' " (I don't know how to write it with phonetics).

  • @Skate4Ever10 Not pronounced the same way, sorry. You should really delete that comment, you might be misleading people.

  • @Skate4Ever10 Yeah they are spelled differently..However, they are 2 COMPLETELY different pronunciations.

  • @Skate4Ever10 These two words are -not- pronounced the same way (but if you pronounced them the same we'd probably understand based on the context). But their pronounciation is, true, a little bit similar.

Jaune (yellow) is pronounced J-O (kinda like in home)-N

and Jeune (young) is pronounced J-EU (the sound doesn't exist in english I believe, but can sound like the er in 'Baker' with a silent r)-N

  • @him3zz I am french myself, Yellow (jaune) is pronoucend jOne. you really have to say O. and Yougn (jeune) is more like if you said the sound "eh" it would be like J-eh-ne. I hope you understand :P

  • @him3zz There is a slight difference in their sound, but are very similar.

one makes and "AUH" sound in the middle, while the other makes almost a "EUH" sound. So hard to write that out!

  • @him3zz Young=j'un

    Yellow=z-john

  • Go to livemocha

It's a real safe website. It's like Rosetta stone. And on top of that, watch french movies, read french books, listen to french radio(on igoogle) and just dedicate yourself. Oh, and sharedtalk and skype helps a lot when you want to speak to french people or francaphone countries.

That's how I did it....et c'est vrai ce que je dis.

  • i'm thinking of buying rosetta stone in French, but i'd like to know whether it works or not. And how advanced does it actually get?

  • @MrMmmOreos It does get pretty advanced once you reach like level 4 and 5. At the end of level 3 you will be able to have a normal conversation in French. So if you add two more levels, you may become fluent if you really work hard and put A LOT of effort into it. I finished level 1 and I could name almost everything in the house, outside, phrases, descirptions, and actions. I do recommend this program and it does work. You can also read the many revies on their site.

  • I was going to get this but it is so easy! i know all of this but i have been taking french since grade 1

  • Five star bid also does your method work for windows as well

  • I Really enjoy learning. Please continue to load if you have more. Your videos help me. Thanks.

  • @eslsyllabi you're welcome and I'll try to upload a new vid soon. If you're interested, you can see my tutorial on how to get this program free so you don't need to wait for my vids to be posted :D

  • @Skate4Ever10 What kind of mac do you have because i would like to learn french and i have a mac book air with the extra dvd thing and would it work or would i have to use a different computer?

  • Please post more. Grew up speaking french and creole and would like to teach my kids. Since we mainly speak english around the house I could use the videos to help practice. Thanks in advance for posting! :)
