Ben...you were, and will always be, my friend. I listen to your music with love and reverence, because you played it that way. God knows, one of the best. From my heart here on earth, to yours in Heaven...play the blues.
i see how busy you are w/o overwhelming your lead guy.....tough to do? I dont know that he would like how intensly i drive the music......if i get all excited or emotional i explode in it all, behind a kit.....and again - props to that freight train of a harmonica. Ben speaking for himself..wow!
Ben Andrews is amazing! I've seen him play a couple of times at Madam's Organ. He's the best delta blues player I've ever heard; live or recorded. I hope he still plays at Madam's Organ so I can see him the next time I'm in DC. Ed from Minneapolis
really great stuff, thanks for posting it. I saw Ben Andrews play a couple of times a few years ago, amazing talent, great to find this vid, you all still in touch?
Apart from being great music the work done by these musicians is a historical representation of a special period in music and you Tymjar are an historian preserving the past> Good work, carry on that person. Is there any where that Blues rider recordings can be obtained?
The harmonica in this song is maybe the best harmonica playing i ever heard! It takes the song on a new level. 03:28 harmonica makes me cry every time!
Oh an by the way. Seems like some of you think Zeppelin made this song, they didnt. Neither did these guys.
Trully great, the hair stood up on my back. The only better thing apart from listening to it must be for you guys, playing it!! I wish I could be a musician.
It just lift me of the chair every time. I can't help but turning volume higher and awake up everybody in my neighborhood. LOL Man, what brand and key is your harmonica. I have 15 diferent ones but none sounds like yours? I assume it's a 10 hole but can't see. Thanx
Listen close right there and you can hear one, hellaciously loud, whistle from someone in the audience, that comes screamin' through the mics ON STAGE! I'd never heard someone whistle that loud before. Man! ...that person what gettin' off!
I heard it man, you guys are world class. With all do respect to graeat Led Zeppelin but your version sound better. It has more tonal expressions, straight down to the roots. That slow guitar intro with harp is so pleasing and than it explode into furious rhytm with harmonica lead.
It's a shame I have to point this out, but I don't think the people shown are actually playing it. granted i am glad that this music is still played today by a select few... here is why they are not.
Harmonica man - no mic against the harmonica but he flings it all about, and it dosnt get lounder or quieter. also, it skips and you "start playing" again a few times like at 4:13. sorry, but it just looks fake.
He has the mic in his hand and the reason it skips is that this was a longer session cut shorter because youtube allows 10 minutes max, It's a shame I have to point this out, but they are playing and doing a damn good job

This is as real as it gets. The harmonica has its own mike (up against the instrument.) The mike on the stand is for his voice.

One mic in my hand for the electric part. One mic n stand for the accustic part.
