Is it ONLY Barcadi 151 ou can you for this? I tried it with Sambuca (I know it doesn't give the same taste but I just want to master the skill first and 151 is frickin dear!) but the flames just extinguish? Should I be able to do this with Sambuca (or any flammable shot) or does it have to be the extremely flammable 151?

@DaveSXmartin You are supposed to dip your finger in the 151 and use that. Honestly I would wear something like a wet glove over your hand if it's your first time and just dip your finger in the 151 because the flame wont spread through the water and you wont light your body on fire =)

so one of the straws will melt remember you only need one straw to melt on each glass for the shot to drop.I think in this video the bartender coated the straws simpley by rubbing his finger over the straws before placing them on the glass.Its not showen in this video but you can see he already had the bac 151 beside the shots so its likely he did. There is no string cords or any other fancy tec used its simpley just straws. Please give a thumbs up so ppl dont ask how its done again.

Ok guys nobody has really explain how this is done. So explain exactly how its done there are two ways of doing this one is to get two long straws and place them side by side vertically and place the shots on top this is a very flimsy way off doing it but it can work but may not melt all of the straws.Second way is to get 2 cocktail straws or stirrer straws and place them horizontally and then the shot glass is placed on top some bartenders like to coat the straws with bac 151 just for insurance

He takes a shot of 151 & holds it in his mouth until he spits it out of his mouth towards the flames on his fingers. hey what kind of alcohols do use use? like specific brands...I've tried and tried but mine always taste like shit, I use like 151, ammareto (or however you spell it, not sure which brand) and I've tried all diff. kinds of beers (natural ice, bud, bud light, busch, lol etc etc etc.

I need to know how to do this right now. A question: how does he breathe fire so well? The flames on his fingers and the shot glasses are gigantic. When I tried this, I could only get a practically unnoticeable flame on my fingers and the shot glass didn't have much on it either.

And what about the drinking straws? Were they the little red straws that you have with your coffee? Did they melt all the way through or did they just become soft and buckle under the weight of the shot glass?

Not sure how he breathes fire so well. He's an awesome bartender & performs this bar trick often. Other than that, I have no other guess. You would have to watch him do it to get a better idea.
