I have to agree with 621380. St Etienne did see a lot of the ball in the final but rarly threatened with it. They played well in getting to the final but were very much second best in the final itself.

I am a celtic fan and have heard alot about that St Etienne team but have never seen much footage of the team until now. I have to say the style of football that St Etienne played was superb. So attacking and full of guts, and the goalie was ace too. I really enjoyed their performance against Rangers. If Celtic beat Rangers like that on Saturday i would not care if we lost the league cause that is how football should be played and as it said winning is not important when youre remembered forever

My dad took me to this game. I had just turned 5 years old and hadn't even started primary school. I loved this slick shiny team playing football the way it was meant to be played and since then, have followed them through thick and thin. There has been both I am also a Celtic fan, being Scottish and living in Scotland but I would walk a million miles to watch this crazy fairytale club. Allez les Verts. Vive le Rocheteau. Et le Loire. Les "VERTS" s'était plus qu'une équipe... C'était parmi les meilleurs joueurs de l'époque, un jeu vif, de qualité et surtout, beaucoup de joueurs du terroir issus du centre de formation. St Etienne c'était aussi un public, un stade (le "chaudron") le tout au sein d'une région industrielle et minière. Un public ouvrier, une équipe ouvrière... Une symbiose! C'était tout ça St-Etienne!

et aujourd'hui, le fric a tout pourri, des dirigeants aux joueurs ,on a un des championnat les plus pourri du monde. ,quand tu vois les lyonnais qui n'en branlent pas une en champions league parader dans des bagnoles a 50000 euros, les joueurs de ligue 1 qui touche des 200000 E par mois alors qu'ils ont les pieds carres et ne savent pas planter des buts, Quand tu vois tout ca alors qu'il y a pleins de gens qui crevent en france, c'est une honte.
