Metal fatigue could easily occur in just one of the blades,it breaks off hitting the other blade and bends it. they send it to germany to be inspected by the company who builds em so they can find out exactly what failed and hopefully improve the design for future turbines. This is all my own speculation and could be BS, but its a damn site more plausable than bloody aliens.

actually brains, they are made from glass fibre infused with polymer resin this is probably a "friday" blade which broke up. ie made in a rush to get to the pub quicker.and yeh they break quite frequently.300 of ours were smashed to pieces in high winds in germany a few years back
