  • Did I say dawn? I ment dusk. Sorry for my bad english.

  • - they do a regular health check-up and are in a very-very good form. They also do sports. Guess when? Yes, at night time.

It all comes down to how well your body adapts to certain situations in your life. But if you prefer, living 2/3 of your day at night and 1/3 at the evening + dawn then it's all fine. You even get enough sun-light and all healthy stuff in your body can grow and develop as usually.

By the way: Did you know, that too much daylight is actually bad for your eyes?

  • Sorry I dont want to sound offensive but "Stop working at night if you care for your health" is plain Bull...

The reason why "Working at night" is not good for your health, is not while you work at night, it's when you work in shifts. Shifts are bad for your health when it comes to getting sleep. The human body can adapt to all sorts of situations very well, excluding sleep AT THIS POINT IN HISTORY (we do not know more).

I know 2 friends of mine who prefer working at night than day. And -

  • This is bullshit. Some work should be done at night. UV rays are killing some of us. I can get enough sunlight at this time of year, in the northern hemisphere, during hours closer to dusk and dawn. High noon, is too much. I'm looking for that night time job.

  • Paul, What is your opinion about insomniacs using melatonin+magnesium?

  • youtubing at night isn't going to stop for me but... it's not like it is a job for me either. =^-^=

  • So, does this mean you won't be "Working" giving lectures after sundown?

  • I just quit my nightjob that I've been doing for 2 years and I can say that the guys that have been doing it longer than 10 years really look unhealthy.

  • Wow! I really needed to hear that message about stopping activity at the computer earlier and getting to bed earlier. Hubby's schedule is always changing so that he works at least two night shifts a week, and when he gets home he just wants to veg in front of the computer (watching dramas). I generally watch with him. Because this habit/addiction is going to take awhile to break and I'll have to do it alone--please, please, please remind us over and over!

    Thanks,

    Connie

  • Nice background, looks great with you and the blue T-shirt. Once again, I totally disagree with you. If you are doing Creative Work, the Work you were created for, then you work from the minute you wake till the minute you sleep, from the time you realize your Creative Purpose till the day you die. That is an Essene Teaching, another subject we totally disagree on. Much love, Ronnie. I am fortunate, my work is my play and I work day & night because I love what I do.

  • Ronnie you can have your opinion but I wasn't giving my opinion, I was giving facts, it's not healthy to work late at night.

  • Thanks for respecting my opinion, I respect yours. Every night before I go to sleep I think of things I want to do and accomplish, so that my mind can work on those things while sleeping. This is an ancient practice and well documented way to "work". I will accept your opinion and respectfully question any "facts". Much love.

  • My X wife works the night shift for years,7pm to 7am,it destroyed are marriage! Shes a nurse,OMG,the stuff that goes on in the hospital on the night shift !! The drugs, sex and not sleeping makes them insane !!

  • @RawFoodGuy99 Wow, I can't even imagine, sounds shitty

  • So glad that you are putting your health and joy first - for your sake and your lovely family's. We all appreciate that you do so much for the movement.

  • I love working days, I hate working at night. were I work they make me do 2 nights a week sometime 1 day aweek.

  • I think it is great, to take care of ones health and one's body. However, if staying healthy becomes the one and only meaning to our life, we are making an Idol of it. In Paul's book "Health according to the scriptures" he states, that we are not to make an Idol of our food. I think he is head-on on that one. At the same time I believe it is also wrong to make an idol of our health. I think we miss the point, if our main goal in life is to stay healthy. Just my opinion...

  • and stop working OUT at night too....10 to 6 if you re living in regular seasonal cycles...10pm to 2pm is pineal gland rest and deep sleep recovery....full 8 hours for full body and brain recovery and 12 full hours of sunlight!

  • Wow Didn't your message just hit me "right between the eyes". I have been ignoring all the articles and other info about what you were saying. It's time now to stop being disrespectful to these "fearfully and wonderfully" made bodies that GOD created. Thank you - your message finally made an impact.

  • Yes, we do waste a lot of precious time on the computer at nights instead of resting, however I believe God has wired each person differently according to the calling and purpose He has for their life. For example: EMTs and all the medical profs. law enforcement, etc.

  • I've struggled with this for so long and just recently started going to bed earlier but it's a slow process breaking the habit but I realized I need to do it to help heal. Thanks for touching on this often overlooked bad health habit.

  • THANK YOU PAUL!!! BLESSINGS <3 <3 <3

  • when you say working at night, do you mean physical exersion? sitting at a desk isn't work....I believe if your eating a balanced raw vegan diet- you can eat at night, work at night and still be disease free... I don't like too many rules too live by. I enjoy being a free spirit and doing what feels right

  • Great advice!

I used to work grave night shift and now feel much better getting night sleep.

  • What about interaction with your partner at night? Is that stimulation as well?

  • its sure is, but i will still do it. But that just me.

  • it's often hard to get to sleep early, because most people dont... and are still loud.

I live in an urban flat with lots of people close around me... Although I already sleep with ear plugs, it doesn't help completely.

  • Great info Paul thanks... I would like to disagree with your comments on the impossibility of getting too much sleep though... The proper amounts of sleep vary from person to person but it should be made known that oversleeping is unhealthy... I'm trying to be helpful Paul.. thanks again

  • Actually you can't oversleep when your body and mind are working properly. When your stressed or depressed you have a tendency to sleep way too long. After I took some stressors out of my life I can't oversleep even if i want to. I have tried on a Saturday morning when I didn't have to get up and I still woke up on my on right between the 7.5 and 8 hour mark. I agree with you that everyone needs different amounts. some 9 some 5.When the body and mind are ok your sleep pattern will be ok as well.

  • Please try to be as clear as possible with your communication Paul... You didn't clearly state that the inability to oversleep was a result of the body and mind working properly... Also using the word impossible is a little misleading in the context your using it in... Paul I totally appreciate you sharing your views with us and your passion... Peace-JC

  • Sorry Yurbuddy I'm not Paul. I'm new to the commenting so forgive my ignorance If I pressed the wrong reply button. My comment was on personal experience and minor reserch as well. I am sure there is more to it but at least for me It was actually that simple. Knowing that your body does most of it's repairs between 10pm and 2am makes it easier to adjust to that. But for me its hard to get to bed before 11pm (3 teens) I'm sure a lot of people have the same hurdles. Love hearing from everyone.

  • thanks for this i agree with the alarm clock thing and everything you say

  • My day job is affecting my health. I am working on eliminating and going back to something I really enjoy doing.

I do use a alarm clock mainly out of fear I will not get up when I am supposed to. Never fails I wake about 5 minutes before the alarm has a chance to go off.

Getting ready to have supper at 3:30 PM last meal of the day. Got home early so I can eat at a good time.

  • Great message that we all need to hear.
