  • You made that look MUCH easier than it actually is for most folks. Excellent technique...

  • And I thought I saw it all in Mexico. Then I saw this.....

Must be a bitch going up and down hills or mountains

  • @salazar16alex This thing towed straight and true, swayed a little when on narrow rough sections of road... other then that it was a dream to drive.

  • Here in the United States we do not have 'A' or 'B' trailers unless the company is based out Canada. 'A' and 'B' doubles are allowed on U.S. highways. Instead in the U.S. we have what we call a 'Dolly' or 'Bogey' to connect the second unit to the lead unit which was first used on the west coast and earning the name 'West Coast Doubles'. This allows for all trailers to be manufactured the same about 22.5 feet each. One single trailer by itself can be up to 57feet in length in certain areas.

  • I work for a trailer manufacturing company here in Canada and the largest units we build are super B's (28 foot lead and 30 foot rear) and I thought that was huge lol. Nice work!

  • nice coupling up. here in the UK, we're restricted to 1x 45ft (13.6m) trailer, which i think is nuts!!

whats the Argosy like to drive, say compared to a Scania 144?

  • @Xantec sure but

    remember double and triple trucks

    put drivers out of work

  • As far as cabovers go, the Argosy with the Cat engine is powerful yes... but the comfort is no match for something european like a 144.

Put a Cat motor in a scania.. and i'd be a happy camper.. now i'm going to wash my mouth out for saying that.. haha!

  • though Volvo have now got 700 odd in their new F16 :D that sounds ideal for road train work

  • Not to bad bloke.

  • wow, that´s very interesting to see this.

In Australia they have the "real" trucks. ;)

  • Primo!!! Straight as a hetro...not to mention there's no 3rd trailer movement when hooking up...sweet!

  • my dads record was 35 seconds!!(backing up and hoking up

  • Good hook-up mate, that would be about the equivelant of hooking up a trailer and dolly to a second trailer, can't really say for sure though cos I've never driven a B double.

  • Vice versa really, I haven't done road train yet, not too keen on QLD's roads for towing one though.

    cheers.

  • good hook up for sure. i would have thought a single and dolly more difficult than 2 trailers. bit easier to kep track of a trailer than something as small as a dolly.

  • @gm16v149 Driving a set of doubles is a piece of cake accept in bad weather. Using the dolly to connect both trailers together causes more sway and 'crack the whip' effect in high winds especially if lightly loaded or empty. Same effect in snow if not careful. Just slow down a bit with them as most do and all is well.

  • nice video. cheers for the comment. i wanna get out in the triples n road trains, when i can.. ah well plenty of time eh. nice reverse anyways mate top notch

  • hmm nice reverse.....pity some people around town can't drive fowards as good as you drive backwards !!!

All hale the truck drivers !!!
