when the vehicle is stuck sometimes better to winch then breaking the recovery vehicle....try using a 50 ft rope used on tug boats ....a good hard tug will get you out if not to bogged down...chek out our vids(solanas off road)

Well, In my experience, Hilux's usually don't have much grunt, especially when going up steep hill, they're just made for cruising vehicle only. Just a suggestion, when ever in such situation like this in the mud, always have some chains on board, and some bog mats. I'd hihly recommend it, bog mats are the go especially for mud. Wouldn't be without them.
Kudos for keeping at it, you attacked that sh!t with force. Figured you had it. I love the Lux. Always wanted one, I had to settle for a 92X-cab, you guys on the other side get all the cool rigs.
