  • PLANT & PAGE both said THIS DRUMMER is the closest to bonham they have ever seen !

    (youll see,go look around !)

  • what kind of effect is he using? i cant crack it..i know 99% comes from baritone and tuning itself but theres something like flanger added.

  • @Eldererr Sustain

  • @rocknrollst Yeah I figured that out a while ago. I got baritone in my hands and was playing around to get this tone. Added compressor and it worked fine for me

  • 1:55 anyone esle was expecting duckwalk?

  • @Eldererr haha yeah would have fit. but at kashmir/come with me at this night he did twice :D

and thanks I never knew how this walking style is called xD

  • Embryo No2.? Damn we need studio version.

  • thats what i like to see, 0 dislikes

  • isn't this embryo no.2

  • Does anyone know the tuning? its tough.

  • @HammaoftheGods id say either drop B or drop B flat. its a pretty low tuning

  • how crazy is watching jimmy page playing that baritone double neck dano !!

michael lee was a furious beast !!

    rip

  • His signed book is £450 & SOLD OUT as that' how Jimmy rolls :o)

One of the top all time masters and always will be.

  • Play Jimmy...crank Jimmy...He was a master and his sound will always stand alone...You catch the bass tones in a lead that you will never catch duplicated again

  • the greatest of all

  • Very seductive tune. Michael Lee's drumming was really on.

  • I remember going to this concert. It was fantastic just to see all these great artists perform including page. He's the reason I went to the concert. I wish someone would upload "come with me" (kashmir) which was performed that night with puffy. All I remember is there were a couple of firery explosives in the stage which drove people nuts and I'm thinking "this is 1/10 percent of what zeppelin must've looked like performing kashmir in an american stadium in the 70s.

  • That is one huge guitar.

  • @LedHeadTillDeath ah iv seen bigger lol

  • @LedHeadTillDeath Look up "Warr Guitar" :)

  • @saedt I did, haha, what that hell WAS that =D

  • Hmm i think the tuning is open D just like Embryo no. 2

  • @HammaoftheGods ************ Embryo no. 1

  • @HammaoftheGods ... I think his neck on the bottom is a Baritone.

  • whats the tuning in this song?

  • @SkateTS808 It's a baritone tuned A to A...low and heavy.

  • this embryo no. 2 right????

  • @AlottaNadda The 90's were just ugly in general...I mean...look at the drummer's shirt, the audience, Jimmy...

  • It was kinda shoddy up until 1:58. Then it started rocking. I mean, it's not that it's bad, it just sounds really muddled.

  • i was thinkin the exact same thing, maybe its the recording

  • @90sRockWhore Nah, the drum and bass are both so clear. It's Page. It's funny, though. Because I just listened to it again and I like it all the sudden.

  • People like to complain about Page borrowing blues licks back in the day, but those people cannot say he didn't evolve into something ENTIRELY original . Nobody reminds me of Page

  • seriously man, people hate when i say this, but i peg Page above Hendrix, there is something just really really deep, soulful, and i dont know, monstruous about Jimmy Pages playing, its on a whole other level.

And the songs they covered/borrowed are like night and day compared to what he did with them.

  • @90sRockWhore Jimmy Page is a better songwriter than Hendrix and that's why he is better.

  • @keith1r i agree, i dont really even listen to Hendrix anymore because the songs arent that great outside of his staple songs. i really dont like his voice either.

To me Page was a better player, maybe not as wild or spacey as Hendrix, but to me, i know it may sound crazy, Page had more soul, i get a feeling, like pins in needles in my skin when i hear him, especially on songs like "Since Ive Been Loving You"

Not so much with Hendrix, theyre both great though

  • @keith1r thats a fucking irrelevant statement noone is better! Music is art. Its like saying Van Gogh is better then Claude monet

  • @keith1r thats a fucking irrelevant statement noone is better! Music is art. Its like saying Van Gogh is better then Claude monet. You nned to listen more music and open your mind a bit

  • add to the fact that he's an incredible composer, Jimmy could lead the most powerful orchestra if he wanted to.

  • @90sRockWhore Oh for sure and he did. Did you ever hear the music from the Death Wish 2 soundtrack? There's some cool orchestral stuff and it's my understanding that Page orchestrated alot of it.

  • Is Guy Pratt of pink floyd who plays bass guitar?

  • I was at this concert. I remember him playing this and was in awe

  • anyone know what tuning he's using for this?

  • Man he was ugly back then he looks way better with white hair.

  • @Gageisrasta I agree.

  • I love listening to Page . He is in a separate category to me

  • It recent interviews, Page has been quite adamant about touring in 2010 with new material. Some would presumably be from what he thought would be the second studio album for Page and Plant, that never happened. The rest would probably come from stuff he was working on for the new Led Zeppelin album, that again, never happened... and indeed, anything else he'd been working on since his last studio work (Walking Into Clarksdale) 12 years ago!

All I have to say is... Welcome back Jimmy Page!!!

  • @SARBAR440 well brother . . . . .

im Sittin here 3:15am jan 2011 & been waiting for somthing new from :

    Jimmy Page

    Van Halen / with dave

    &

    triumph

and i got nothin & not to mention in 2010 we lost

    ****** Ronnie James Dio******* (r.i.p.)

so . . . the universe HAS to be preparing us for somthing WONDERFULL

  • @z1inspector Disappointment, yes. Page dropped out of a least two live appearances last summer, after having knee surgery that required some extended recovery time apparently. So perhaps he was putting the final touches on new material during that time? I just don't know. I was just going on what the man said in 2009. He will be 67 in a matter of days... I certainly hope that he hasn't decided to hang it up for good. I'd really like to see him on stage again... where he rightly belongs.

  • @SARBAR440 well he still seems pretty energetic & GOD love em HE AINT 70 yet, lol

im very excited that some impressive colaboration that has been done with jonsey & bonzo

MOST importantly page said it turned out to be some pretty "special " stuff

NOTICE plant has been charging his creative batteries/ mainly covers

robert will of course giv it a listen wen hes ready

I HOPE 1 day u dig this comment up & send me a wonderfull reply saying i was rite AMEN !!!

  • what you's talkin about? there gonna be some new page stuff?

    fuckin hope so, any info?

  • Any one know what tuning this is in?

  • @gez2007 ... he's playing the baritone neck I would presume and the other is standard.

  • If I have never heard this before and didn't know who the artist was I'd say,"That sounds like Jimmy Page!" A musician/guitar player with his own distinct sound(s).

  • Actually, to be quite honest, I would KNOW it's Jimmy Page.

  • ml is one of the best drummers out there.great duo

  • @edadmartin yes Michael Lee was great, may he rest in peace

  • Okay. So Robert is off doing his thing. John Paul Jones is in Them Crooked Vultures. (Which I think is a super incredible band, by the way.) So now Jimmy should form something as well.

  • He said he'll release new music in 2010. :D

  • Ha ha! I heard about it probably a couple days after I posted that. Awesome it is!! Can't wait to hear Jimmy's new stuff.

  • Me too, it's about time! I hope he calls some guests!

  • @iuricastro22

    Omg, he did? O.o

  • @iuricastro22 :( we are in 2011!

  • riff sounds like its taken from hendrix's "third stone from he sun"

  • Best of the best

  • I saw this when it aired on TV. Haven't heard it since until now! Thanks for uploading this gem.

  • Page and Jeff Beck are the kings of rock instrumentals

  • Are they?

  • Page has since rechristened this song "Embryo" apparently, and he performs it solo on guitar in the new-ish film "It Might Get Loud".

  • Great rare clip. What else did he play at this show? Any other video? Thanks for posting this!

  • Dazed and Confused. You can find it in the "Related Videos".

  • all hail JP

  • This is 100 % Jimmy Page. The guitar sound is very interesting (excentric), and the dinamic of the arrangment is a classic Page. Some parts reminds me the fast chords of "Midnight Moonlight Lady" (Page's times with The Firm), and... that melodies witrh chords: just other world

  • The only other guitar player with the sonic power Page has was Albert Collin's .Albert's guitar sound was massive also. I have seen just about every guitar player out there and no one can touch Page.Jimmy everyone is waiting for you to bring out your new material.Let's hear it soon please. With or without Mr. Plant.

  • I Really dig the fingerwork in this piece. Its not really flashy but he got a really nice sustain tone and he does some nice note holding before verse changing. His leads are not too shabby as well. Jimmy has inspired me from day one. Anyone who says he is washed up should listen to this. One last thing, it does have that Firm sound to it as well.

    Thanks for this great post!

    Rob/Boston

  • Thank you so much for sharing, I've searched this for so long.

  • Thanks for posting. I remember seeing about 5 seconds of this performance as VH1 cut to something else during their live coverage, leaving me screaming at the TV....
