Its good to see their are still churches remember the resurrection of God's Son. It's good that they are willing to have communion still. Many denominations only participate in the (communion)eating & drinking of the Lord's body & blood once a year. We should strive to be disciples of Christ always. I have one question? Why do catholics pray to Mary as well as to her statues? Shouldn't Christian's only ask God and his Son for help? I am not trying to offend Catholics. I am just curious
No offense taken Catholics do pray to Mary but not to her statues or icons. They only remind us and draw us closer to the one who is bringing us even close to the One! Do a little research and w/ an open mind you may come to understand why Mary is (and always was) the object of devotion. Google: catholic apologetics Mary and you'll find a wealth of good information
I belong to the Syro Malabar Catholic Church and when I was young I did see the Theokotos as only a egg shell, someone useless, and worthy of shame. I never used to say any prayer that contains references to Her from my heart. But since years went on, I was moved to change. It was not an event or a miracle. I never went to Lourdes or Holy Land or asked God for a miracle to make me believe that He loves Her dearly. By free will I now seek her mediation, ...
