I had Lasik done. best thing I ever did! 20/15 vision! Even better than the normal 20/20. It didn't at all seem anything like this video, and it only took about 5 minutes for both eyes. Look for me on Tumblr: toxicatmedia
@DHristovTV Too far isn't always a bad thing. I had Lasik, and now I have perfect visions without problems. Technology is amazing, and saving me a lot of money as well.
@DHristovTV Not one bit! It doesn't hurt at all. They numb your eyes with a little drop, and all you feel is pressure for a few seconds. It's really simple.
This is nothing! Looks pretty smooth compared to another one I saw. This one was cut perfectly, the other I saw wasn't cut straight and had loose edges sticking up everywhere. It was a mess!
@CallMeMidnightAngel Yes, you have to be awake for it. The video is intimidating. It doesn't seem like they do any of that when you go, and it only lasts around 5 minutes total.
@MsButters8 They gave me numbing drops and Vicoden. It doesn't hurt at all. It's super quick, and not near as bad as the video makes it seem. The video is a little intimidating.
@karaicy Probably, but there is a big risk in it. I don't want to risk not ever seeing again. but I use contacts, which are great. The only nuisance in it for me is putting them on, it takes 2-3mins everyday, and can be annoying, but it's a habbit for me just like brushing my teeth. :-) In 5-10 years when the technoligy has deloveped a little more.
@ashepe Actually, there's very little risk. There's a risk with any surgery. No one has ever gone blind, and there have been millions of surgeries performed world wide. Like with everything else, you want to go to someone that has a lot of experience. I know about 10 people just in my own city, all friends or friends of friends, that have had this done with no problems. It's not as risky as you think it is. The most common side effect is a little dryness. I don't have any dryness.
@karaicy So because nothing happened to you, and the 10 people you talked with it about does not mean that there is no risk. And yes people have gone blind from it, it is wrong to say "no one has ever gone blind" - It is simply not correct. But I am truly glad that the operation was successful for you :-) Happy new year man! Peace and love!
@ashepe Actually, I never said there was no risk. Before the surgery, the patient will sign below a list of potential risks. But it is true and a medical fact that there are no reports of anyone ever going blind based on current modern laser equipment - 15+ years ago when it was new? Probably). That does not mean it could not happen, but it is extremely rare and unlikely. Cont...
@karaicy cont... My surgeon is very well known in Raleigh and in the Lasik community, and has performed over 24,000 successful surgeries- that's a lot of people! She is highly respected here. So to lower the risks of any kind, always go to someone that has a LOT of experience and modern equipment- some of the greatest machines are now even FDA approved.
@karaicy "a medical fact that there are no reports of anyone ever going blind(...)" Well that would be a statistic fact, but that is not a fact. Though you might be unable to find such reports on the world wide web, does NOT imply that it is a fact, that LASIK has never been a direct or indirect cause of blindness(through infections etc.). Not all information is available on the internet. But the most common risks as I understand it is: double vision, dryness, light sensitivity and floaters.
@barbiegirluniverse Mine was a total of $3598 for both eyes, but my surgeon has done over 23,000 and was one of the first in the U.S. She was amazing, and I also have better than normal vision too at 20/15
@chelseaXichigo It depends on the exact type of laser used, the experience the surgeon has, the area you live in, how much they advertise, and so on. A skilled surgeon with excellent equipment, anywhere from $999-$2000.
does your eye feel really dry during it?? and how does it feel after? how does the flap not come up?? pleease reply i have to get this done, thanks!!!
@heyoitsrico100 No, it doesn't at all. They numb your eyes. AND the whole thing is only about 5 minutes. I have my full experience at tumblr. User name is toxicatmedia :)
I had it done yesterday. It doesn't hurt because they putting numbing drops in your eye. The worst part was not not knowing what the heck they were doing. When they flip the flap your vision goes blurry and then when they're brushing it back into place you can see all of it but can't feel any of it. It was pretty freaky but I'm seeing great already and have no regrets so far. If you don't want to cut the flap, opt for PRK, then they dissolve a layer of your cornea instead.
Omg, that will never happen to me. They'd have to knock me out :P I'm sorry, but there's absolutely no way I could do that no matter how much I tried.
@SosiMcGee i didn't hate mine that much, but after the lasik, i decided to destroy my glasses in a ritual hahaha. it's worth it.. i could litteraly see the next day better than with glasses or lenses..
@SosiMcGee a week ago, just dryness so i have to use eye drops a lot, but that's it. and it's to bright to look at street lights at night. but i think that's normal for a week postop results.. it takes 6 months to get full results.. i had astigmatism, aberation and a -1,75. i know it's sounds small, but i have to say, i see some colors much better now than i did before. sounds strange i know, but it's true..
i've watched this, then few days later did that, and even though i didn't feel what they were doing to me, i KNEW IT WAS GROSS after watching this and i felt like dying.. and now i'm watching it again just few days later and it still freaks the s**t out of me.. and i'm not easy to be grossed out!
@TheTwilightSagaHeart it doesn't hurt at all, weird, but it doesn't. you feel that something is pressing your eye, but you don't feel s**t. they drug you up with a sedative first, then they put anesthetic drops in your eye then they poke around but you don't feel pain throughout the surgery. it lasts like, 10-15 min with the preps, but it feels like 3-4min tops.
@plejka isn't uncomfortable, not being able to blink? Cause even though it doesn't hurt, it's a habbit that we'll never get rid of..... And it must be scary as hell, seeing pointy metalic stuff coming straight for your eyes... and poking it...... O.o
btw i have 2 questions i hope you'll answer... 1. did it worked? i mean, you can see everything perfectly now? and 2. isn't there any side effects at all?
@TheTwilightSagaHeart yeah, the fact that you can't blink or even move your head is uncomfortable and you get a little bit anxious. but if your eye moves the laser shuts down, so it can't torch your face :P :D
they have a little thingy that will move your lid so you can't blink even if you wanted to. and i have to admit, this first part, when they put this metal thing over your eye, is the worst part. i litteraly stoped breathing from discomfort and the pressure on the eye.
@TheTwilightSagaHeart i can see better, i wouldn't say perfect because it takes 6 months to have final results. but i see everything now, it's way 2 cool.. i see further than with glasses, like i have binoculars on my eyes :D side effects.. none that i can think of.. just the night vision is 2 bright if there are fluorescent lamps or a car coming straight at you. but thats normal. it heals ofcourse, but like i said, it takes 6 months.. i could surf on my computer the next day and drive a car.
The 3rd day after PRK Laser Eye Surgery is supposed to be the most painful, yet as I awoke this morning---moderate soreness & pain...perhaps everyone has a different pain threshold; Sensitivity to light has certainly increased today. And objects seem to be hyper-layered: Somewhat overlapping & distorted.
a customer of mine got lasik from china and as their products the lasik was also disposable it lasted one month only and he again puts on glasses i swere china is not bullshit but its fake bull shit
thought that i would want to see how it looked from the other end, but i am glad that i did not watch that before i got it done. lol honestly though took only like a min or so for both eyes, took a 3 hour nap went to diner that night kinda blurry but after 2 days was good. worst part for me was not being able to rub my eye for a week after the one eye drop kinda stung :) would still recommend it though
Also dry eyes are the case in every LASIK patient but as long as you use artificial tears like you're supposed to for the first few months, you won't have a problem. People over 40 struggle with that more because their tear film doesn't produce as well as someone who is younger.
@rodolfsk8: subconjunctival hemorrhages are minor. They're painless, can be caused from something as simple as sneezing, and heal on it's own. Learn your facts.
@HANANE19821 ohhhh plz tell me , u seem to be egyptian or an arab , how long after the process did u see properly , cuz i just made it 2 days ago and still don't see properly , so how much did it take before u could see completely properly ????

wow, if I had watched this before I got the surgery, I'd probably been freaking out.
Anyway, it seems much more horrible than it feels -actually, I didn't feel anything during the surgery.

thought that i would want to see how it looked from the other end, but i am glad that i did not watch that before i got it done. lol honestly though took only like a min or so for both eyes, took a 3 hour nap went to diner that night kinda blurry but after 2 days was good. worst part for me was not being able to rub my eye for a week after the one eye drop kinda stung :) would still recommend it though

joereece865 11 months ago
Also dry eyes are the case in every LASIK patient but as long as you use artificial tears like you're supposed to for the first few months, you won't have a problem. People over 40 struggle with that more because their tear film doesn't produce as well as someone who is younger.

@rodolfsk8: subconjunctival hemorrhages are minor. They're painless, can be caused from something as simple as sneezing, and heal on it's own. Learn your facts.
