When the car is new, you should drive with it over 3500 rpm, especially a BMW because they are done to be driven over 3500 rpm! You can even drive it to the red zone! If you don't, the turbo in the car is not used, at least one of them ( in Z4 case that has 2, 1 of them a small compressor ), the one thats working in the high rpm: s. And a turbo thats not used gets bad engine-response in a long aspect! So now you know for next time you buy a New BMW turbo car! I have driven this car, amazing!
