This was recorded in a studio, it is not live, it is mimed. Yes he IS chewing gum (just to let you know that it is NOT live). Like I say i have the whole thing on VHS somewhere, this was the only song he performed (or that was broadcast). Ultravox, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran etc performed also and there was a great wee solo song by Robin Gibb (Beegees) called Juliet. I really must dig it out and convert to dvd.... if it's still playable and hasn't been worn out completely!

I remember sitting in front of the telly at my grandma's home - bless her soul -, at that time the only one in the family with a -Betamax-videorecorder. Just having taped this very recording from some musicfestival (Montreux/Montreal?!?!-anyway, somewhere in the 80s), watching the video without a doubt with redhot cheeks.

I actually stopped being an Antfan when "Strip" came out. I hated that album. It was so 80's pop and very disappointing after the brilliant and unique "Friend Or Foe". The only song I liked on it was "Montreal". I never bought an Ant record again after that.

I can actually understand. The one album of his I really hate the main sound and idea of is Strip. But that shouldn't stop you from ever supporting him again. People are allowed mistakes in their careers, no? He made MANY great songs after that.

That may be true but the thing to remember with teenage fans is once you lose them they're gone. I moved on to other things after that, mainly The Ramones and more harder sounding punk rock. "Viva La Rock" when it came out may have been better than "Strip",but by then I was into Black Flag and the Dead Kennedys. It's an occupational risk of having a mainly teenage audience as they love you one day and think you're rubbish the next.

Strip was completely different from anything else Adam had done at the time and he was constantly reinventing himself (long before madonna adapted the idea) I have to give him credit for keeping everything new and fresh.

Try one of the vintage/used record shops in your area. I found a UK version of the Prince Charming album. The one that opens up like a centerfold.. but then again who still owns a record player now days?? if you have a dj friend they may be able to get you a copy on cd from the album.. Also have you read his autobiography Stand and Deliver? Just fabulous!
