  • This guys basicly created street skating.

  • This actually pretty sick

  • Admittedly, I'm here because of Wednesdays with Reda.

  • hahaha

  • @yaznez I couldn't agree more.

  • im sorry but who cares how old you are? if you love skateboarding youre forever young.

  • Smoooooooth.

    Style in pure simplicity.

  • I've seen him he works at sota in san francisco goo thing I live there

  • Entire video part shot in one day. That's how it's done:)

  • One of the best video parts I have ever seen!

  • amazing video dude! Take extra cautions on your tricks!

  • hes so natural and clean, i could watch him skate for hours

  • Anyone know what board Tommy is skating in this vid? Thanks

  • jeez not seen this in years! THIS is real skating. smooth lines.

  • Dude! That Pinto with the Starsky and Hutch paint is AWESOME!!!!!lol

  • i smile when i see this video

  • I dont wanna go to camp just wanna ride my ramp

  • Smooth. I still have my hot pink TG board from '86. He made it look so fun, and not so tech that I felt maybe I could do that, too.

  • All style.

  • bcharville ! You quitting FAG! This is classic grass roots footage here of one of the founders of what we know today as skateboarding!! It's like what Jimi Hendricks did back in the 70's for electric gitar! HE started something special that evolved into an amazing thing for millions of people! And as years went by people got better and more technical at it. You 'y' generation young pricks have got no respect for any of the heritage of the things you enjoy today!!

  • Does anybody know what board that is i have the same one, just don't know what its called

  • I am too young to remember any of this, but I quit skating after I was old enough to realise that it had become too "starry". I think that most skaters today are more concerned about getting their picture on the cover of a magazine then actually skating. It's sad, really.

  • Suave na nave!

  • Took the exact same amount of time to film this as it did to watch it

  • i know most people here hate modern skating but how do you play a game of skate with this?

  • @mexalkid you dont. thats the difference between skateboarding then and skateboarding now. Skateboarding then was all about ride, skateboarding now is about the tricks. Thats why "longboarding" is becoming more popular. so people can actually RIDE a skateboard.

  • The only way you're going to find one is from a collector and then you'll pay upwards of $500 for a used deck. TG hasn't authorized a reissue and Powell hasn't released one to my knowledge.

  • Powell Peralta Tommy Guerrero Dagger (flame) model. Rollin on Indys and probably Rat Bones or Crossbones.

  • badass stuff !!!!

  • Could anyone tell me what kind of board this is please? Not specifics just the type and whether they're still available or not

    THX

(Ive got a good old banana board but it's a bit restrictive for tricks..)

  • Style

  • way back from school

  • Looks like so much fun!!

  • Best skate video of all time, takes me way back to my child hood.

  • 2:39-2:43 did you see the starski and hutch pinto

  • man I love to see all the old school flow...I need to learn some of those tricks on my 60" dancer haha

  • do your research kids. if it was not for tommy g and mark g... skating would be reduced the x games.

  • Skateboarding was different back then..,

    Alot more fun..

    I'm old..

  • i was just 2 years old when he rocked this hill AGGRESSIVE PRIMITIVE

  • i guess modern skating is a little more difficult, but the question is: is it more fun?

  • The dish is still there. I just rode it yesterday.

  • @bizmarky76 whats wrong with freestyle tricks?

  • @jizzy2k i think he was complementing the style, cuz now days all you see is tre flip transitions lol

  • all i wanna do today.

  • I used to have the red Guerrero with orange flames. I paid $55 for it new in 1987 with money I made from cutting lawns in my neighborhood. The skate shop was Wheel Power in Edgewood, MD. I remember putting yellow ratbones wheels on it with swiss bearings. aaah, memories.

  • The best thing about this, not a single fucking 360 flip at all.

  • 12 people got butthurt cos they can't handplant

  • tommy guerrero is sick as hell

  • his style is so sick

  • that footage is like from 1981 ,,who said 85?

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Bones brigade video show was the first powell video.

  • what is the first powell video

  • Shortly to go on the search for animal chin

  • go to a store or somethink buy a g sticker go to a place where it´s draw no skateboard stick g on n know read it ... GO SKATEBOARD

  • hes like an old school dylan reider

  • Damb OLDSKOOL SKATIN :)

  • the best style! timeless!

  • 1:16

Now i see where BONES wheeels comes from

  • A.J. scratch at 2.55 word!!!

  • I agree that this was a great time in skateboarding, but people dissing what's happening these days are missing out. There's a huge spectrum. Much of it is quite repetitive, but at the top of the heap you have riders with flow, skill and balls. To see a modern master shredding SF hills, try "Westgate Talks Stay Gold", or look for almost any footage of Dennis Busenitz.

  • Bones Brigade!!

  • man i love skateboarding but damn i love the old school style nowadays its all about how tech you are with ur board what ever happened to just carving down a street u can bet you wont see any skaters nowadays look as smoth as these guys riding down a hill

  • this is... skating.. not this shit it is today

  • @rosencrown yea sure it is lol sike

  • I am one of Grammy Nominees!!!

  • wasnt that skatepark in the end in bayview/hunters point or soemthing like that, just remember hearing stories about how you had to watch your ass if you went there. It's gone now of course

  • That's the Dish in Hunters Point. As far as I know it's still there.

  • @bandini no kidding? ill have to check it out one of those days here. Hey looks like were from sorta same area of CA, been to grass valley a few times, grew up skating Modesto and Ripon, DECADES before there was any talk of the Ripon skate park ;) though we unknowingly had a small part to play in making that park happen

  • @bandini I was just wondering if it was still there, looks like sooo much fun!!!!! somebody should get some new footy there for fun.

  • @duanescot why would you have to watch your ass? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @duanescot I was just thinking the same thing before I saw your comment. I remember it being really kinda scary whenever we would go up there because the locals really didn't like us young punks up there.

  • @duanescot yeah the Dish. Watch out for flying beer bottles.

  • @2:45 Gas station prices $1.16 per gallon.

  • @KathyReedTheOriginal you sure that was not a parking lot ?

  • Comment removed

  • @67tr876 Yes.

  • @KathyReedTheOriginal and i bet that was full service that came with your windows washed, oil check and someone pumping the gas for you.

  • 9 dislikes - queers

  • Fact: He never got a speed wobble in his life.

  • i love how smooth he power slides :)

  • Grip tape design on the decks were the best back then.

  • hard to believe that these tricks were the shit once...

but tommy rides so styleee i love it

  • Shreddin is prolly the sickest thing

  • super !!!!

  • i love to mix old school with new school....it should have a name...i call it...no school

  • @FeeldahVibe001 call it summer school...in between old school ( grade you just graduated ) and your new school (upcoming grade) hahaa

  • oldskooooooooooooooooooool! :D

  • my last name is Guerrero too

  • awesome

  • some one know the name song¿¿?

  • prolly the best skate vid in the world.

  • hes smooth

  • tommy g! mad smooth stylee! great post man, love all the bones brigade fliks :)

  • thats really kol my last name is guerrero to Mariah Guerrero i love my last name

  • This was also my favorite part of the video, and Tommy became my favorite skater. It had a profound effect on me as a street skater, too. I even started doing that little tail spin trick that he originated. I forget what it's called - a Guerrero Turn or something like that. Ha ha. He looks like such a kid in this, but at the time, I looked up to him.

  • he was my hero

  • it's almost as if he's one with the board. i love this style.

  • Looks like so much fun, I wish this style is more used nowadays =/

  • ol skool....

  • streetstyle!

  • Hey guys I've got a video on my page at my local skate park its only 1 min 15 seconds but i tried piecing together some decent tricks if you could check it out and leave me feedback thatd be wicked thanx

  • lolcant seem to find a man who ill treat me like a princess

  • so sick at 1:02! great old footage of SF too..

  • this is old skool s-i-c-k!!! =P

  • this is the shit..dig it.. old skool

  • well done!

  • Love it. Pretty much the first street on video, correct me if Im wrong. TG, pure style..

  • For all the emphasis on trickery these days, you seldom see anyone flow like this anymore. It's just......trick.......trick......trick.

  • @TheWorstWarlock and for those who aren't pros, it's more like sitting around all day trying to land those tricks and barely doing any actual skating.

  • @BillKiernan Exactly. No style at all.

  • Here's an Oldie but a GOODIE!!!!

  • nice tune! what is it called?

  • rad boys - future primitive

  • thx, sry for my question today i looked closer at the title^^

  • Thanks, this rocks so hard!

  • I don't skate for cash, I just want to thrash, what a good line

  • woow the time when te natas spin was very populair!

  • Gasoline was a $1.16 in 1985...lolz.

  • anyone know the song?

  • loose trucks, bombing hills.just the way the gun flows around.inspirational even now,25 years later.

  • GO SKATE

    OR

    GO HOME !!

    memorable !

  • i thought tommy guerrero was a music artist unless he this is him wen he skated back in the day

  • skatercuban, Tommy Guerrero is both a musician and a skateboarder

  • oh damn dude well hes beast then lol

  • Same dude.

  • Too funny. I had the TMG board back when this was made...HOT pink with the blue sword...cuz that was cool back then.

Funny to see how mellow our cruising was back then..enjoying the concrete, popping off some ollies, throwing some goof tricks.

Miss those days, but love taking my kid to the skate park and living through him!

  • cool man.

  • I remember when my uncle showed me and brother this vid. It's the reason I started skating.

  • Tommy Geurrero was nice..but Lance mountain was the man when it came to cruising!

  • haha this video is awesome I bet everyone flipped out when he ollied the bank

  • back in the day, filmin video parts in one day THATS OG

  • omg this brings back memories.... great great memories. tommy g ... 2:30 ollie off the bank in 1985 ftw. (Near 25 fooking yrs ago ppl. RESPECT)

  • is that the same Tommy Guerrero of the guitar?

  • OMG this is a whole another way of skating then now, this guy is freaking pro

  • This is a cool song, who's it by? This classic Guerrero before the 90s!

  • Wow, this is an amazing video of old school street skating. This is rel street skating, with the huge wheels and high trucks.

  • and fishtail boards with the plastic railings!!!!!

yeah and for the kids asking if this is the same guy as the musician it is. he's also in the band free beer.

  • What's the trick at 0:48

  • i remember the whole vid. :)

    those were the days!!! *sigh*

  • Yo that was fucking wicked!!!

You can just image the shit they'd be pulling today on the same terrain..

    .. still MUCH Respect!!!

  • I love the starsky & hutch pinto in the background as tommy is ducking under the fench when he is leaving the skatepark.

  • Is it bad that this is almost my exact style today? I love loose trucks and riding the board like I'm surfing.

  • Same here buddy, Skate for yourself. Don't ever worry about what everyone else is doing. Check out Concrete Wave Magazine, I think you'd like it. Website's under the same name.

  • @AurynThePaladin

Right there with you on that, except my trucks aren't quite as loose as they used to be, but I still like skating with soul.

  • @AurynThePaladin I agree whole-heartedly! I always tried to find lines that were similar to surfing. I respect those folks nowadays with the multiple kickflips, but that just ain't my style. I always liked a big wide board with a large tail and flat nose and just surfing along the streets finding the smoothest lines. I always loved Tommy and the Gonz... their styles utilized the environment and always just flowed with the geometry of the area.

  • @AurynThePaladin no way, thats awesome. something skating has lost.... i ride pretty similarly but combine that surf style with street. dont use my hands much at all.

  • @AurynThePaladin

    so you're longboarding .

  • @AurynThePaladin Its the best, not bad. i

  • @AurynThePaladin Its the best, not bad. I'm not gunna claim that i was aaround when this part came out, cause i wasn't even born yet but the first line is the definition of skateboarding.

  • @AurynThePaladin

No, it's awesome that this is your style. Key word "style." Tricks are fine, but if they don't flow...

  • skating has come a long way

  • Awesome at 1:06!

  • converse?! xP

  • back in the day. converse was the new NIKE SB or etnies or waht have you.

  • both those shoes suck. ha. but ik what ya mean

  • GO SKATE OR GO HOME!

  • converse?

  • dont wanna go to camp.. just wanna ride my ramp

  • so awesome

    so much flow

  • My all time favorite too! Focus on style and fluidity and not technicality. I also love the track! Made for this movie?

  • Powell Peralta

  • smooth

  • bart simpson style

  • koopa :]

  • Man,I just went from watching Mike Mo capaldi to this and I gotta say it's hard to say which I enjoyed the most.Mind you before that I was enjoying the pet shop boys only minutes before both so make of it what you will!

  • i wonder if this kid ever got really famous cause thats some sick old school stuff

  • What? Have you never heard of Tommy Guerrero??? He is a skateboarding legend.

  • it scratches a curb so what, big deal

  • if skateboarding is retarded then why are you watching and commenting on a skateboard video...genius

  • I'm degree educated, now a working professional and i'm still skating...get a clue retard.

  • I have a bachelor's degree in history and masters in Education from UCLA. And I run the skateboarding club at my school....

  • I agree, if skateboarders are retarded then how have we managed to stay around for so long. Plus it's ignorant people like you (DemskeetSkeet) that cause problems, not skateboarders.

  • Fuck u, retarded. Sure you are a wannabe skater and you couldn't and now you're working in an office from 9 to 17 like most of the people...
