Quite likely one of the BEST rock songs ever written. Meaningful lyrics, immense riffs that fit perfectly together, twin guitar, multi layered vocals from the heart and BLISTERING solos throughout. Modern "rock" cannot compete with this, I don't care how many records these modern bands have sold, Thin Lizzy rule the roost!

This song was about all addicts and alcohols. Phil died of heroin addiction and complications of liver disease. He was a heavy drinker also. This and DEAR LORD are phil stripping his soul bare. A real man. In the end he lost the battle like so many of us do. For all you idiots that have no reference points, have never had a monkey on your back? keep quiet and refrain from ignorant comments.

He sang with such a powerful depressed hatred for the drugs he did espeecially Heroin. But he couldnt quit using them. The songs especially the drug laced ones ones are hte most powerrful songs I have ever heard
