Larry Larson was probably driving in the Pro Stock class. That's a class for all kinds of different cars, street-legal and not street-legal. But different classes doesn't change the quarter-mile times. Larry's Nova is still faster ;)

A random 6-7sec. street legal dragster does under 2 seconds en hits almost 220mph after 6 second, while the Bugatti does 10sec. to accelerate to 190 mph. And it also aint lighter than a Civic. A Civic is mostly plastic/polyester. Larry's Nova is all steel. And the fact it isn't in the super class is all about street legally issues. Super Class cars aren't street legal in most (or all) countries.
